Thank you nin. Found the walls and the path, no longer an issue, both parks can have the marble hotel and paths. Unfortunately I still have the problem of the paths not connecting to the edge of the map. Like I said before with out the connection the guests will not be able to exit the map and will cause huge issues with guest generation very quickly. Without guests the park is useless. Thank you for all who spoke up, it would appear that #2 is dead on arrival and there is quite the divide over #1 and #3. So lets break it down before I tell you whats going to happen. I always like to see them also, no park ever seems to be without at least one. I see your point(s). #3 doesn't really fit in with the rest of the park and #1 would theme out very well. Given what I had to go through with the 6 racers, I think I can pull this off. Lots of entrance rotating. I agree with both of you, was thinking the same thing while making #3. Yea, the colors for the pictures were really bright but I did that just to show the different courses. They would be toned down when finished. Once again choosing the Pirate Jungle theme for the park has me feeling trapped with earth tones. Was searching all over Google for water park pictures and remember finding a Disney water park somewhere with a similar theme and every picture I could find of the place showed slides that blended in to the landscape (color wise) rather than stick out with bright colors. #3 is so packed with slides there wouldn't be much in the form of trees and or other foliage around it. I would most likely end up putting it on a concrete base like some of the other slides in the park. #1 leaves me the most room to play with when it comes to decoration. These 2 comments along with what I stated above about color and foliage in reference to "coaster1000's" post have pulled #1 out in front for me. I does fit better with the park and I have the room to add some terrain interaction with this slide combo. Will most likely modify the course of the slides slightly in order to get some better interaction going with the surroundings but it will maintain the basic look of what you have see. Just have to wait till the parks out to see what happens. THANK YOU EVERYONE This is probably the LAST post from me about this park until it is released. I have a lot of work ahead of me getting WW/TT removed from the park and putting in the special Dolphin interaction area for those who have the expansions. If this area works out the way I have planned those of you lucky enough to see it should not be disappointed. For those who don't, it wouldn't really kill you to spend 10 bucks and pick them up. A little rant about WW/TT... I understand that most of the senery in WW/TT is junk but some of it isn't. Some of it is good enough for people to copy into non WW/TT versions so it must not be that bad. I am about to use some senery that fits that description right now. Regardless, everyone who doesn't have the expansions is really missing out on some really great ride themes that can enhance an area of a park. Many real parks have coasters and flats that use a theme just like the ones available in WW/TT. Just off the top of my head I can think of a coaster in Canada (Dragon Mountain, Marineland) that is uses a dragon theme on it's coaster trains, it even has teeth, the new Manta has trains that look like it's namesake, Holiday World has a tilt-a-whirl with Turkey's spinning around on it... I can go on and on with parks that have rides that fit the theme of the area where they are located. So whats wrong with using coasters/rides like that in an RCT park when WW/TT made them available. I will never understand why these expansion pack are so shunned by so many in the RCT community. Don't believe me check this out. >>> http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=211&linkid=2114 Hope that little rant didn't make anyone angry, that was not my intention. In a few weeks I should be ready to send the park out for a few people to test. I will need one person with WW/TT and one person without. Again, thanks everyone. This has been frustrating and fun.

OK, I am on the last slides of the park, I have 3 choices. Well, actually I am giving you the choice. I am going to be busy the next few days so I am not going to be able to work on the park. So I have put up 3 different ways for the last slides to go in the park. Take a look at each and give me you thoughts about which should be the version to stay. No reason for any in depth comments about any of them unless you want to, just a simple I like version 1,2 or 3 better. Still haven't given up on making the park WW/TT free, but still stuck with map entrance issue. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT! PS, in the pictures you can see the last bridge in the park. So happy to be done with those. #3) An absolute crazy mess of slides. Six different slides in all. Each slide will only function as an individual, there can be no racing in this one. They are all about 60ft tall. Trying to get the paths in this one is going to be really hard! This one is really over the top, not even sure it really even fits in the park. May be just TOO MUCH. #2) Basically the same slides as above, just a LOT BIGGER. They start out about 80ft in the air and have 2 fast dive sections each. Once again they can operate individually or as racers. #1) A simple slide design. They can operate individually or as racers. They are about 50ft tall.

Wow, a version of the slide in RCT, I had no idea it was based of a real world slide. I to am aggravated by the lack of parks willing to open during the winter, at least they could open on the weekends with minimal staff. As for the brakes, if every truck that is driving down the highway can keep their air brakes from freezing I would think a stationary coaster brake system shouldn't really be an issue. Anyway happy to see you were able to get out and ride in January. -

That is one nifty looking piece of track (last picture). Wonder why no real coasters haven't tried that yet? The loop centered behind it is also very cool. -

11/20, probably going to loose my membership to this site with a score like that! -
Yep, I can see I would not like this very much in real life. Shuttle Loops, Boomerangs (inverted or not), hate them all. Ride them but they really make me want to throw up. Can't stand the loops going backwards. Have had a problem with them even back in the days of the old Demon (Screaming Demon to most people). They make me nauseous and this one would just about make the chunks fly. GOOD JOB! It's odd, I can get on a flat ride that makes you do inversions in all kinds of direction with no problem but when a coaster does it, not so much. The only thing besides a few support issues as mentioned before, is the slow ascent on the second spike. Is there a way to speed that up?

^ Yep I tried that also, putting the chain sections in was the last thing I tried. Do I need a straight section at the start?, or does coming right of the station usually work? -

OK, I looked it up here in the "Help Thread" and twice it has been said that you can make a vertical lift on a floor-less coaster by painting the lift a different color and using the toggle chain with the latest version of 8cars. I am doing everything said but am getting no result. ...its a standard floor-less track ...the vertical section is painted Alternative #1 ...using 8cars 1.32 (1.3.2.0 if you want to be technical about it) ...find ride in Rides Menu (floor-less #1) ...select Color Scheme (for special actions) - "Alternative#1" ...check "Toggle Chain" ...click "Apply" and then "OK" Go back to game hit test run and I get nothing, what in the world am I doing wrong, I can never get this to work. Thanks Here is the section colored to Alternative #1. I even tried putting a section of chain at the bottom and top of the track I want the chain on. Didn't matter still didn't work. -
^ I see that My title changed again, and this time I can't see how it was caused by my post count.

Found the offending items, one was a bench I had used at several locations around the park, easy fix. That took care of one of the expansion packs, the other not such an easy fix if even fixable at all. I used a marble wall set and footpath for hotel. Yes it possible to replace all the walls that have the marble on them to something else. A lot of work but possible. I am completely willing to put in the time to fix it. The paths can be replace not really an issue. HERES THE PROBLEM! The marble paths used in the hotel also are used on the walk up to it. Both guest entry/exit points use that path. They enter/exit through a two tile tunnel paths 10 squares apart from each other. When I replace the path with a standard one the entry/exit tunnel disappears from the map. The path will not connect to the edge. Guests can jump this small gap and get in but they can't get out. I have tried everything I can think of to get the paths connected to the edge of the map using 8cars and SOB. Changing guest entry points, getting rid of the tunnel, making the path enter on a slope. I can't get it working properly. This park has a huge guest turnover rate caused by long lines, double wide paths and a time consuming ride (Lazy River 13+minuets long). While I can keep a guest count well over 2000, there are a lot of them coming and going all the time. I have to get them off the map. In a very short amount of time the entry/exit paths will be so full of guests trying to get off the map new guest generation will become problematic. Not to mention it will look like very bad planning when the exact opposite is true. I spent WEEKS getting the very complex path work in and around the hotel functioning properly. You (meaning everyone/anyone) may think well just keep the park closed. For most parks that is a GREAT option, for this one it would KILL the park. The guests are needed for you to see any action on the slides or any cars driving in the parking lots, with out guests the park would be a total waste of time. I have put up a picture of the entry/exit point issue with the parks land inverted so you can see where the tunnel is supposed to be. Like I said before they CAN enter the map but CAN'T leave. SUGGESTIONS? (please) ^^Thanks for the input about the trees and beach area. I was thinking the same thing. I do have a piece of senery that is a beach chair I was thinking about adding in. It comes with and without a guest in the chair. You think that might do the job? Going to be replacing some of the jungle trees with more standard palms in the near future and I never thought about using some deco items as beach debris but I will give it a shot and I think I have the tall grass DAT around here somewhere. I will put it in the game and see what it looks like. On a side note, if I can get this entry/exit issue worked out, I will continue to make this park WW/TT free so everyone can see it. However it will cause the cancellation of the dolphin/guest interaction area for this version of the park. I need the dolphin jet ski ride from one of the expansion packs to make it look like dolphins are swimming with the guests. So there will be two versions of the final product one with WW/TT and one without. One will have an ornate marble hotel and one will not. A picture of just a portion of the marble walls that will need to be replaced. This is the entry with the marble removed and replace with the games standard cobble stone path. The path will not connect to maps edge. This the entry as it is now with the tunnels in-tack and the marble paths.

^ Of course it is worth starting topic about, expecally if you want feedback. It looks HUGE and fun. I take it the Turbo Dive is the rides big hill, kinda like the 2nd hill on Phantoms Revenge at Kenny Wood. Or is it a Turbo like even though the ride is moving at a good speed it launches even faster over the hill? BTW, you pictures are way to big, 800x600 is the max. -
lol, I kinda was thinking the same thing when I first decided to go with natural sea water, but then I thought of all those wonderful Caribbean islands with resorts on them where the sea water is crystal clear and clean. That is the type of place I am trying to convey. Water so clean and clear that why would you ever think of using chemicals. The kind of water most us who have ever been to the beach anywhere along North & South America, Europe, Asia and Australia coast lines have never seen in person. Only in the Caribbean and a very few other places in the world. Water so nice you can see the bottom 100's of feet below you.

Thanks you 3 for your thoughts on the animation problems. nin I think you hit the nail on the head. I removed a ton of water animations in the areas around the shore line and it took care of the problem for a while. It came back and I couldn't think of what else to get rid of and then it hit me. The entire Lazy River used artificial animated water to fill it's course. I removed all the animations I could get to and replaced it with only real water. PROBLEM SOLVED! THANK YOU!!!! You can't even tell I made any change to the Lazy River at all. I have some REALLY BAD NEWS for all of you who don't have WW & TT. I did a little experiment the other day and removed all items I wasn't using. Then uninstalled WW & TT. Tried to open the park and it would not open. Was missing items from BOTH expansion packs. I have NO idea what objects could be causing this issue, didn't think I had used any item from either expansion. Apparently I have! SORRY. The good news is since both packs are being used I am going to go ahead with a new unique guest experience that can only be done by using the expansion packs. You all know of Sea Worlds Dolphin Cove right? Well if not it is a place were you get to swim with dolphins. An RCT2 version of this attraction will be added to Pirate Bay Water Park. In the pictures below you will see where it's going to placed. Anyway onto the update, below you will see pictures of several new buildings, the fully functional swimming area and Pirate Play Ship with not one but two working slides placed in and around it, the six person racing slides in action and some lazy beach goers soaking up some sun. If you remember back may updates ago a large pirate ship was anchored in this area. Well it was moved to the other side of the park and used in the play area. So now this space is empty. Well the park really doesn't own this land anyway but that is not going to stop them from using the water to make a great new attraction for the guests of Pirate Bay. Soon you will be able to swim, play and interact with REAL dolphins. The only open area left in the park. It will be home to a new slide that requires tubes to be used. In the picture you can also see where the tram that runs through this side of the park ends it's journey and the site of one of the last buildings that will be built in the park. Just to west of swim shack 1 is this small beach, it's one of those adult only areas found in may water parks. A place for parents of older children to come and relax in a quieter environment. This is the largest beach at Pirate Bay, you can lounge in the sun and watch the swimmers in the play area or head over the sand bar and enjoy endless open ocean views. Number 3 is the most rustic of the swim shacks and the largest, with it's location so close to the largest beach area in the park it needed to be a bit larger. Swim Shack number 2. Located directly across from the big ship. One of the 3 swim shacks located at the big pirate ship. They are where you can get a bite to eat and relax out of the sun for a while. This one is more upscale than the other 2. It's location near the adult only beach is the reason for this. Another shot of the swimming and an other guest using one of the slides on the ship, in the left corner of the picture you can see some beach. This is a small sand bar that keeps the water at Pirate Bay's swimming are relatively calm and free from big waves. Yes I said waves, you see unlike most water parks this park is located on a small peninsula and is surrounded by REAL ocean water. The natural sea water is what's used all through out the park. A good view of the slides on the ship and some of the surrounding swimming area. Yep that is a guest on the slide going over the swim zone. The play are viewed from the back, all around the ship there are water falls, water geysers and various other things going on. This a picture of the front side of the big Pirate Ship Water play area. The same group of sliders, it looks like the guest on slide 6 (the one furthest away in the picture) is going to end up being the winner. It was a guest on slide 4 that won the race before this one. Ahhh, finally the race is on! Each slide has slightly different dips at different points. Chances are if you watch the slide for a while you will notice this has no effect on who wins the race. It is always random. This is the building that the racer slide ends in. When the park is done I will explain why buildings are needed for this type of water slide, if you remember the other racing slide in the park JUNGLE ESCAPE also has buildings at it's start and finish. Believe it or not this huge building is needed to hide whats going on to make the 6 slide racer work. I saw no way around it. So I just went with it, if it makes you feel better about it the building also has bathrooms in it. The building's other entrance, don't think you can get away from the poo by going to this side, there are monkeys over here also. The Monkey House restaurants front side. Real monkey's are around the building swinging in the trees and door ways along with a few flinging poo as guests walk by. The same building from the back and the other angle of the bridge. The front of Wooders Grill and one of the last bridges in the park.

First, Mastersax I think your latest pictures show that you are going to be a great RCT2 player to follow in future projects. Well Done! Second, I really don't see the negative in BelgianGuy's comment. "...the basics are really there" a very positive comment. "...really dull, try adding some more texture" a great little suggestion on how to improve. I will be honest, more often than not you (BelgianGuy) do come off really harsh and sometimes hateful but not in this case. Personally the few comments you have posted in my latest park have really helped me by pointing out issues like using too many of the same windows and putting in check thoughts about how the park may or may not be received at other sites (mainly meaning NE) Third, coastb2, it's nice to see your latest NL project(s) are getting away from Jet Coasters. Not that you didn't do a great job on them cause you always have. Looking forward to seeing your new "headbanger" in person when you release it. -
^ Not sure how much truth there is in it but if you checked out the link I put up on the first post of this page the author of that site made a short comment about Faller's financial troubles back on October 30th. Anyway since I brought it up again (sorry), those of you who are really into these model rides should really check the site out. The man has really good pictures of rides being built, information about what he had to do to make them run smoothly, custom lighting and custom ride controls. Edit: I worded my last comment badly, I should have said something to the effect that Faller may also be in financial trouble.

Thanks Robb for letting me know that was just a normal change. I have seen the "Donkeys Are My Way Of Life" and a few others like "Full Fledged Donkey Enthusiast" and "I Guess Donkeys Are Okay" but some how I must have missed the version I have now stuck below other posters names. The title "I Teach At The School Of Donkey" made me think that somewhere I had posted some smart-ass (donkey) remark in some topic where someone had asked a question instead of giving an answer and pissed off the Title Fairy.

WOW, I had no idea my title had been change till today! I feel violated! You could have at least typed some sweet nothings in to my PM box before sticking it to me.

Either start a thread for your project or add it to an exciting thread (like the preview thread) by going to the bottom of the screen and clicking on "Browse". Add your picture from where ever your storing it. Put in a caption (if you want to). Hit submit and there you go. If you have more than one keep adding them till your done. Do not go over the picture size limits 800x600 and for fastest viewing use JPG format. -
Amusement Park Models
dmaxsba2408 replied to Eric10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
WOW! First can't believe you found one, and second for only $15. Even without the base it was worth a lot more than that! Last time I saw one of these on eBay it sold for over $200. I remember when this model came out it cost about 48 bucks. So happy to see you were able to get it working without the base. You might want to go with something a bit thicker than a plastic folder to support the ride for the long run. If you can find one they used to make a thin flexible cutting board that would give you a bit more support. It would be about 3x thicker than what you are using now. Your ride making pictures are great. Love the step by step. Really shows just how much work Faller put into these rides and just how much work it takes to make one function. Are you making a park like Cyrus or are you just building them for fun? -
So glad you put the tags on the pictures, and I remember when IHC first came out with their models. I was so happy to see such "low cost" rides available. I was used to spending so much money on the few Faller items that were out at the time. 40 to 100 dollars for a model seemed so expensive to me back when I was in high school and IHC kits were about 10 bucks. So I tried them all. Was very disappointed in the quality of all their kits. Some were SO out of scale and most never worked right. There were 2 exceptions. The "Spider" and the "Carousel". Both kits worked very well (even better if you fitted a Faller motor on to them) and were scaled perfectly. To this day no company has ever made a carousel that could beat IHC's not even Faller. I totally understand your desire for some of these models, most are next to impossible to find and if you did find them they would cost you 100's of dollars. All of them are available to you for your park. Just tell me what one you want first. Edit: Just noticed your PM, sorry. Wrote you back. I really need to pay more attention.

Tropical Paradise [RCT2]
dmaxsba2408 replied to Stoksy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
For not being a realistic coaster it does look like a really fun ride. Is there a way to get some supports to attach to the vertical sections of track?, like using T's to come off other in place supports and connecting them to the vertical sections. Definitely need some trees and more angels on your buildings. -
Was wanting to see this park more than any other you had sent to NE. It just looked so great. With that said, it DID look great but had some serious problems with rides broken down and no staff around to fix them. The constant beeps from the game really took away from the fun of seeing it all working. Eventually I put the staff in to fix the problems. I have a feeling this was one of the issues that lowered your score. The only other issue was broken benches in one area of the park. Looking at all of the parks that have won over at NE I have to wonder if using WW scenery hurt your score as well. 99% of all the past winners never use items from WW or TT. I hope that you were not judged down for using perfectly good scenery just because it was from an expansion pack. The items you used from WW worked perfectly in the park and made the entire park come together. Your park layout was great, the coasters top notch and your scenery/theme was perfect. Except for the issues mentioned above I don't understand this parks failure to win. Maybe I just don't understand what the judges are looking for.
