Official RCT/RCT2 Help Thread

^ yep I've seen his work, Korean I believe. The "Holy Ground of the Dragon" park one is my favorite. http://www.nedesigns.com/latest/new-silver-holy-ground-of-the-dragon/ I figured that there was a large Asian following, the game after all has the options for Asian currency. You can't toss a stone anywhere in Japan without hitting a Giant Ferris Wheel, Jet Coaster or Togo death machine. So I would assume that there would be a huge RCT fan base just in Japan alone. The problem I'm having is finding those communities. -

^ No one can really tell you how to start a park, it is really all up to you. Just try to think about what you want to achieve, set that goal and go for it. I do have this one piece of advise, start small, go into the scenario editor and make that map as small as you can get it and use that size for the first few parks you make. As you get better at it they will start looking great and then move on to a bigger map and then a bigger map after that. The reason I say this is, it's very easy to start a park but not so easy to finish one. Nothing helps a player more than actually finishing something, putting it out for everyone to see and getting feedback for it so your next one is even better. These 50+ pages of posts are full of parks that never got finished, don't be the next one. Now I have a question for everyone - Has anyone ever found an RCT site based in Asia? I have been looking all over Google and page after page, I can find nothing. Lots of ads from Japan, Korea and such all selling the game and lots junk but no fan sites. I find it hard to believe that people in any Asian nations don't play RCT and have no places they all get together (like TPR) and share what they have done in the game. Found sites in France, Germany, and lots of other European nations but nothing from Asia or for that matter Africa, South and Central America, or Australia have ever shown up in my Google-ing. Would love to visits a few RCT sites from any of those areas. -

The park is so much fun just to look at. The only item I would change is the bumpers used on the rapids ride. They need to be below water as well as above like the supports for the building are unless of course they are meant to be floating on the water. Now that I brought that up just my opinion again but I think the supports going into the water looks alright but in the case of the building putting only footers in the water might be more realistic. In most real world situations a steel support never touches the water if it is all possible not to. Have you thought about making the course of the raft ride invisible and using single rail coaster track as the guides along the course? This would require you to make a second raft ride above the current one and then removing all sections that don't need to be seen. The lift sections and drops, they need to be seen. Then lowering those sections over the invisible track. It's a lot of work but the pay off is worth it. -
Rather than clutter up Masterax's thread with a download he many not be interested in I went ahead and put it in Stoksy's Lost Objdata thread Page 2. Any questions, comments or problems with the download please post in that topic. Link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53557&start=10 Sorry for going off topic Masterax.

Here is the Thomas The Tank Engine Set, both covered and un-covered wagons. Thomas The Tank Engine.zip -
Agreed, those cars swinging out on that curve look perfect! Very nice tree placement also. Meant to ask you the other day if you were planning on putting in Thomas Town because if you are I have a Thomas The Tank Engine locomotive set (mini railroad) that would look so nice in your park. Been meaning to ask nin if he wants it also for his Six Flags but I just keep forgetting, so nin if you see this and want it I will put it up for you also. For that matter if anyone wants it just say so and I will put it up for download. Thomas comes in both covered and un-covered wagon models.

^ Where did you get the idea I think anyone is an a-hole? Must be something in the translation. I do hope you were including yourself in there when you said "They are the top players..." because you are also and you 3 are far from ever being a-holes, although I do remember being an a-hole to nin once about hacking something in someones thread. I think I apologized, or at least I hope I did. The input and encouragement from you, nin, Liampie, Stoksy, Goliath123, coaster1000, DBru, Pufferfish, Xizor_Racer, hyyyper, traincrossin, Coaster Cow, Chris Benvenuto, themeparkologist, mcjaco, 10ryansmith, Mastersax68, the ghost, Squid, netdvn, KnottsDisneyFarm, Retro_Gaga, ericmichaellucas,themeparkman25 and so many others is what made the park what it is. Without the input from everyone here at TPR who viewed, commented and helped when I got stuck the park would have been lost. Edit: opps, its Goliath513 not 123 sorry.

Sorry I can't really help you with architecture issues, I have so many problems with it myself. I do want to say though I think everything looks fine to me. Question about your Star Wars ride?, are you going to be using Methusalem's Star Wars objects and rides for this attraction? I do hope so, seeing Met's X-WING & TIE FIGHTER rolling around on those tracks would be so cool and the senery that goes with even better. Met made some other great Star Wars rides also, like a giant X-WING Cinema and LAND SPEEDERS. If you don't have them here is a link: http://www.rctmart.com/downloads/methusalem.php?pageno=6 ... and if you want them in the game I will be happy to put them in for you if you are unsure of how to use the ParkDat. Love the park!

^ Honestly I really don't expect to get anything other than an honorable mention, I just don't think I have the imagination for rides and architecture that is required to win an accolade at New Element. I see the screens from people like yourself, Liampie and nin just to name a few and I know I am no where near where you guys are when it comes to creativity. I really don't know where you guys come up with such great ideas for senery and ride design. I really wanted to post some pictures of the park at NE back when Liampie suggested I should do so but to be honest I find the forums there to be very intimidating and I feel like I don't have any business being there. If this park does well hopefully those feelings of intimidation will go away and I will feel more comfortable becoming an active member of that site just as I am with one.

Hi everyone, just a quick heads up. The park is finished and like I said I would do there are two versions. One with expansions and one without. Those of you with the expansion get a few extras that those without do not. I had the option of using non-expansion items to make both parks exactly the same but decided against it. Not a big fan of using jet ski's as dolphins or hyper coasters as sharks so the reef snorkeling adventure and swim with dolphins experience are missing from the the non-expansion parks. Those with out WW/TT do get something that the others don't and that is a mosh pit full of guests that can't leave the park. It located at the main entrance underground. It was a side affect of removing the expansion pack path that lead on/off the map. Guests can get in but can't get out. It has no affect on the park in any way. Not going to show any pictures of the new hotel or anything else, want to keep it a surprise. The park has be sent to NE and I will let you know when it is available. Thanks again for all your support and help with this park.

^ Yes, just hit edit on your post and add whatever you want. ^^ Sorry for the delay, I didn't see you question. I didn't know you could download RCT in any form so I can't help you. If you look around on eBay or other sites you can find a disc version for around $5 to $10. Always better to have the disc. -
I think a mix of a Roto Drop and 2 Launched Free Falls would look better, you would have the Roto being the free fall and the other 2 launch upwards or just 3 Launched Free Falls 2 down one up or the other way around. The reason I bring this up is I doubt very much any park would build 3 Roto Drops but many have Power Tower like complexes. The dark ride looks much better now with the touch of color you added and addition of the circus. The park went the other way for me, just seems too open and inviting to be a Gotham City park. When I think of a park in the city of Gotham I think of overgrown and dangerous. The kind of place you wouldn't be caught dead in at night because if you were in it at night you would be, dead that is.

Great Wolf Lode Kings Island PTR
dmaxsba2408 replied to angryemobeaver's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was just there a month ago and saw no sign of any new construction, I must be blind or they are really fast. Looks like you stayed in the same wing I did, your view of Kings Island (in the first pictures) was just like mine only I think I was up a floor of two above you. So how did you food and drink taste after you spent the day at the water park. It took me 2 days to get the chemicals out of my system so things tasted right again. -
Celebrities, is there anything more important in life than doing what they ask, I don't think so! They know everything about politics, religion, animals and how all of us "regular" people should be living our lives. I listen, bow and do what ever you say MATT and BOB. It's almost as bad as politicians like Mr Earth Al Gore telling us all how we need to be greener while he goes back to his mansion and uses more fossil fuel to heat, cool and light it for one month then most of us use in a year. LOVE IT!

Sometimes I think I am the only person who likes SLC's. Really don't get all the negativeness about them. Fun, fast and since when is a few bump and jolts not supposed to be part of a coaster ride? I guess that's why I like rides like Magnum over Diamond Back and Millenium Force. Happy to see another one going up (again) and if SFKK wants to get rid of theirs I hope it shows up near me. -
I don't know what to say, it just didn't do anything for me. I think it would be a fun ride once or twice but that's about it. The air on the way back was great and so was the launch itself but other than that it just... I know it wasn't supposed to be much but it just reminds me of something used for testing not something a park would build or was that the point of it?

[RCT2] Adventure City
dmaxsba2408 replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
The station and line area looks wonderful but in this case I think I would have used hyper trains on mine train track will some the supports thinned out using a blocker. It just looks so rustic at the station but then it looks like modern clean lines after it leaves. The jagged cross members and less block-e supports of the mine train track would just fit the area better. Regardless, I am happy to see you updating this park! -
That is one big map you got there, hope you make it through it. I think Gotham park should stay and even be expanded one more tile over on each side leaving a single wide path at the edges and more random entrance's to the park on each side. If you want to make it more interactive put a spiral slide somewhere in the park or food/bathroom hidden in the trees. Batman looks good, and I would not worry about the backwards part. Just about every park has one and there are a few parks that have a version that is not quite like the others. Your park could just be one of the lucky parks with a clone that is not quite exactly like the others. Great choice for names of your flats so far. I really have nothing to complain about, sorry. I take that back, way to much grey and black going on.

Six Flags Virginia(RCT2) NO CS
dmaxsba2408 replied to the ghost's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Just a suggestion but if you take the wooden coaster track and keep it at the curve angle and layer it about 3 times upwards and you will get much better looking walls for your pirate ship, for the front of it make the coaster track come together using the 1/4 curve sections to make a point at the tip. Use the steel senery blocks to fill in the center. Once you get above the track part of the ship use wooden scenery to finish your ship. As for the idea of the river battle/water coaster... -
Pufferfish, I totally agree with you on that many coaster sit only on footers, basically being on the ground, that is the look I was going for when I made the suggestion. Unfortunately in RCT the footers are low to the ground and when the track is only 5 game feet off the ground it puts in a footer and a small support. If this was a custom supported track the footer is all you would see but since it's a non custom senery park it was the best idea I could come up with to keep the track from looking like it is sitting right on the grass with not even a footer under it. Sorry my comment came off the wrong way.

^ What does that "I can't be bothered" statement mean? Your not the first RCTer I have seen say that. What's there to be bothered about? It's just a game. Play when you can and don't play when you can't. As for not having any ideas or inspiration I totally understand that. Sometimes everyone just needs to exit the park or for that matter exit the game and just get away for a while. I get stuck all the time be it building a coaster or a park. I just get to the point that I have to STOP and get away. For weeks or even months. I can't tell you how may times I have built myself into a corner with a coaster or entire park, gave up and left the game just to come back weeks later and have it all fall into place. ^^ Joining forces with someone who like build structures while you take on the task of building the rides sounds like a fun way of doing a park project. If my computer was able to play RCT3 I would be all over that. I hope you find someone to join with you in a park. Maybe hit up the RCT3 help thread and put a call out for someone who would like to join forces with you. Not that I want you to leave TPR, I think it has the best, friendliest, most helpful RCT players anywhere but you could also try some other sites like RCT Lounge - http://www.rctlounge.com/ who have a very active RCT3 community to try and find someone to do a park with you. If you really like doing just rides maybe till you find a partner you can focus on just some great small design parks with one coaster and a minimal amount of theme to show off what you enjoy doing. Either way I hope to see some pictures of your work posted here at TPR in the preview thread or in a topic just for your stuff. mcjaco, if that link is in bad taste or not allowed please remove it.
