  1. Station looks amazing and I really think it fits the ride very well. Breaks from parks can be a GREAT way to get your ideas together. I often take weeks or months off from parks when I get stuck or just bored. It's weird whenever I do it's like when I go back it's all new again and the building process just takes off. No Super Man pun intended.
  2. I like what you have done with the small area you have worked on so far, however someone posted in another thread about wooden coaster tracks not looking right when they sit on the ground and the person needed to lower the ground in that area or raise the coaster. I feel the same way about that low curve on Revolution. Ether find a way to adjust the track up 5ft or lower the land down 5ft in order for the supports to show up. I have found by just lowering the edge of the land and sloping it inward will allow the supports to show up and get rid of the track on the ground look. Basicly leaving the edges of the area where they are hight wise and lowering everything in the center down 5ft.
  3. Herschend, they run DollyWood and Silver Dollar City, they would make great owners for a park like this. Very well maintained, great theme, attention to details and wonderful staff.
  4. BelgianGuy; That looks just amazing, that has to be the best table/umbrella set up I have ever seen and the coaster track just looks like it part of the landscape. Beautiful! coater1000; There's a problem with your picture, Six Flags entrances are never that clean looking. mcjaco; There is nothing more classic than an entry pool reflecting a giant Ferris Wheel, with that game I bet the view is even better at night.
  5. You are both right, Xizor_Racer it is great to see that someone who is relatively new to the game has already figured it out and mcjaco it does all come down to not over extending yourself. My Thunder Lakes park is a prime example of planning out specific sections and keeping each project something small and doable. That map was HUGE and every tile of it has something on it from edge to edge. Not very many parks of that size every make to an end. Looking back I never thought I would get it done. There were times when months went by and I never opened it. I just needed some time away to get my creativity back. Yes it was "old school" but it was still very creative and full of great little details. Old school is my favorite way to play RCT and when I am done with this water park I will be going back to it doing some more RCT 1 scenarios into RCT 2 style. Think I might just start a thread about the ones that are done and what I will be working on. I can't be the only person who likes old school parks. Sometimes I think if some of the newer players would play RCT 1,2 and 3 old school style for a while and get their skills built up be for trying to be the next great thing they wouldn't get so frustrated and overwhelmed. I think that is a great idea, I hope many of the people here at TPR see this. It's a nice way to show off what they have done and even though it's not finished or "up to their currant standards" it would be nice if they know the park is not going to be finished for whatever reason they put up a download of the park so others can have a peek at it and or try to play it out to some kind of end. Same can be said about NL tracks.
  6. WOW, never thought I'd see a 14 year old say such things these days. Not that it matters anyone but me, but very impressive! You keep that attitude about wanting stuff and stuff costing money and you are going to make some employer very happy some day.
  7. Man I really love the look of that wooden coaster in the first picture. What a great bunch of twisty bits. What's with the long flat section behind the station?, and why is the station building so big, what do you have going on in there?
  8. I think it's a great plot line for long standing parks to use as an excuse to do a major revamp of their park. On the other hand if you are meaning "close" as in the builder just quits building. Then I would have to say it just comes down to laziness. In all the years of playing RCT I can count on one hand how may parks I didn't finish. Yes real life always comes first but I still get them done eventually. I often wonder about all these park builders who never finish anything if they carry this issue into their real lives. I do hope not. There have been so many parks made where the builder claims they have gotten better and is stopping the work in his/her current park so they can put to use their new talent, to me that's just being a quitter, I would think if your really that much better at building you should keep the park your working on and update it to your new standards. But no they close the park and move on to just start a new one and then quit that one 2 weeks later. I can't exactly say how may times I have started and restarted and then restarted again the current park I am working on. Once it got to the point where I was too far along to restart yet again I have been working around any and all the issues that come up but always keeping it going. I never give up on it. I have spent the last few weeks just removing WW/TT items and why you might ask? Someone asked me to do it. This one person really wants to see the park so here I sit for hours redoing what I have already redone countless times. I hope I was on topic and if not please ignore or remove.
  9. Correct me if I am wrong but Six Flags was in control of all ride and park maintenance at the time of the accident. Why would the people who leased the land and rides to Six Flags be responsible for any mechanical problems with the ride. That's like saying if you walk into a leased building that is being maintained by the leasee (thank you cfc) and slip you should be able to go after the lessor when they had no control over it at the time. I would think if the ride had totally collapsed to the ground because of a problem during it's construction and Six Flags was leasing the park at the time it would come back on the Fairgrounds and whatever contractor they worked with. That kind of incident would not be a maintenance issue. This whole mess still goes back to who's in control of what, when and to what extent. Really makes me think leasing land for any reason is a super bad idea!
  10. Before I start let me apologize for any lease spelling and version usage errors. My spell check gave me options I didn't know were even available for the word lease. I'm so confused right now. Was Chang built by Six Flags or was it on the land before Six Flags leased the land? I am no land lease expert but I would think any ride built before the lease would belong to the leaser not the lessee and any ride ride built during the lease would be the other way around. This is the kind of thing that I have always wondered when I see a "Land For Lease" sign put up somewhere. When someone leases it and puts up a building who really owns the building since the land it's sitting on is leased?, and what happens to the building when the lease is up? It is so much simpler if one leases an object like a car or apartment or office building. When the lease is up you either re-new or leave. Edit: I see now this discussion over who owns what has been going on back several pages, sorry for posting what has already been talked about. Since it was on the front page I thought it was new information. I'll leave it up, but if a moderator wants to remove it please do.
  11. This is how I do it on XP, there may be a better way. Go to My Computer, find you main drive, select Program Files, find Infogrames, click on RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 and your screenshots should be in the main RCT folder. Be sure to convert them to JPEG's before posting so they load easy and re-size them to fit site rules (800x600 max). BTW, there is a sticky up top for all RCT questions and issues please go there in the future for any problems, some will almost always have an answer for you. Welcome to TPR!
  12. The traffic on the road should not be the issue. More than likely the person who made the park used the ParDat utility to bring rides/senery into and out of the park after the scenario was created. If that is the case more often than not when you take the park back to the editor it will Error Trap. Just to make sure though you can use 8cars to bring the invisible track back then try to put it in the editor. Find the ride in the trainer, change the crooked house or circus show tab back to the coaster track is should be and hit apply.
  13. Are the 4D coasters really that bad that they should quit making them as has be suggested in this thread? I never made it out to SFMM to ride the old one or made it out to ride the new (old) one, so I have to go by what I read. Is there any coaster in any park that has a ride similar to the roughness of X2 that I can get an idea of what your talking about?
  14. According to AE's site, there is no tab available for his Pirates Of The Caribbean set. I found the listing for the tab at the RCT2 database site. I was shocked to see it but it said it was listed. Just hoping someone might have it since they list it as being out here in cyber world somewhere. It would free up a lot of space in my current parks "?" menu.
  15. Looking for 2 items, any help would be greatly appreciated. DCUGR or DGROCCr - these are curves glass angle items both are the same thing (I think). and AE-PRAT - it is the senery tab for AE's Pirates of the Caribbean set, his site does not carry the download. THANKS
  16. BOB!, it is great to see you back at it. Really enjoyed seeing your other work months ago. Good luck with the park!
  17. So happy to see an Arrow Hyper coaster train in the pictures. One of my favorite coasters in RCT and not to many people seem to remember it exists.
  18. I don't know how you were able to get the motorbikes to "train up" like that, but it is very cool that you did.
  19. ^ Thanks for the heads up and the kind words, I thought I had seen every park at NE, but apparently not. Question, since you went to all the work putting traffic in the two parks I saw, why didn't you let the guests get in the cars? Tried my hand at making a pirate ship using all the quarter tile deco objects I have in the game and the ship ended up being way out of scale compared to the rest of the park so I went with the prefab versions. They just seemed to blend in better. I was trying to make it seem like everything in the park is a blend of natural settings and water park. Really wanting to avoid any colors or items that jump out at and say "LOOK AT ME" and over crowding the park with slides. The ships around the park are the only prefab items I have in the park, do you really think they need to go? Since you have already made everything that I thought was unique with this park would you like to be the first to see the whole park as it is at the moment (unfinished) and look around and see if it really is just blah-ish? Unfortunately at this point having WW/TT is the only version available. Edit: after really looking around at everything in your water park it really isn't fully functional, yes all the rides move but not all rides have guest capacities greater than 1 or at all, rafts floating in air and ride vehicles doing exactly what I stated at the beginning of this topic I would not have. That is, going backwards back up the slide(s). Non of my slides go backwards and all run a full capacity and the cars driving around have guests in them. I don't want anything I just wrote to come off the wrong way, I DO THINK YOUR WATER PARK IS GREAT! But it is full of things I set out to avoid.
  20. Love the video. Great way to introduce your park!
  21. lol, no. What this is, is an area just south of the guest swimming area with a great white shark prowling around circling looking for food and... What is not shown is the guests of the resort/water park snorkeling in the same area. The teaser is just that, the area is not finished yet, when it's done there will be dolphins, sharks, snorkelers, a reef and maybe some sea turtles. Didn't really want to send out a finished product picture it would ruin the fun of seeing it for the first time.
  22. EDIT: OK, sorry the post above that said that was the "last" post was from me was a lie. I have just one more thing to show everyone. THANKS CHRIS, I can't tell you how much your help and the help of so many others on this project has meant to me. Without you guy giving your input and digging me out of holes along the way it never would have been what it is. And now DEADLY WATERS, for those of you with the expansions here is just a sample of whats coming... ...for those who don't have WW/TT just a tease of what you'll never see in action.
  23. About the 7th post down on page 9 you will find a post by me that talks about the ParkDat and RCT2DatPreview utilities and a download for each. You can use the Previewer to see what objects are in you objectdat folder and use the ParkDat to put items into and take items out of saved games. In your case use the ParkDat to put the Support Blocker (JASUPBLK) into your game. Follow the link on that post and there is guide to show you how to use each item. There is also a picture of what all the numbers mean. Copy it and save it somewhere. Without these numbers you can overload the game and ruin your park. DO NOT GO OVER THE MAXIMUM NUMBER ITEM IN ANY CATAGORY! If all your small senery slots are taken you will need to remove one item to make room for the Support Blocker.
  24. ^ use this support blocker, it will show up in the "?" menu as a blank space. JASUPBLK.DAT Support Blocker
