Evergreen Valley [RCT2]
dmaxsba2408 replied to Bob!'s topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
This park has that same county feel to it that Sunset Gardens has. Just seems so Dollywood-ish. I really like it. Keep it up and please finish both parks. Don't leave me hang-in. -

For a park that is no where near as serious as the other two, it sure looks great. The way you use color makes your parks seem so bright and alive. So looking forward to seeing this park and your others when you put them out for download. -

^ you don't need a trainer for what your doing. In the editor go to the "Landscape" page (pg2) Click on the MAP icon (left side). With the window up you should see 3 tabs. 1-land, 2-entrance and 3-guest entry. Click on the little guy and a blue square with an arrow should show up in at least one of the entries on the edge of the map. If it is not already pointing into the map move it so it is. Now go to the 2ND entry and click on it. A second blue box should appear. After you do this go back and check the first one to see if by chance it happened to be the one that moved. If so click again and it should come back. IMPORTANT: with an underground path starting at the edge the box MUST be on the path (underground) and not on the surface. If it is on the surface the guests with will be stuck at the maps edge seemingly floating in the air. IMPORTAINT: never have more than 2 paths touching the edge of the map. The blue entry point squares have a bad habit of moving themselves to some random path that is also touching the edge. If you feel you must have a paths that touch the edge that are not guest entry points put that final path piece on by inverting land ownership after you are DONE with park. Of course invert the ownership back when finished. Using monorails as transports instead of just a ride; Keep in mind that to the guests all so called transport rides are just that RIDES (the elevator is no exception). They will not use them to get anywhere like you or I would. Always make sure you have a hidden path for the guests to take if they decide they do not want to ride the monorail. The only other way around this is to FORCE them onto the rides with use of well placed NO ENTRY signs. By using the signs you can funnel them into an area and then force them into the line for monorail. One of the 2 road exits for the park. The paths have been removed (for now). When I was first done in the editor with this map I forgot to remove these paths and sure enough the first time I tried to test the park with guests only one blue entry point square was where it was suppose to be the other had moved to one of these roads. Had to go back to the editor and fix it. Don't let this happen to you. Leave the extra paths till you are done with map. The entry points for a park I am working on. The blue squares on under ground where the paths are. -

^^ That is one nice roller coaster shot you have there. Look almost REAL! nin, amazing work! How many different projects you working on anyway? The park does look great but yet so very square. Realizing that I also start most of my parks square-ish I will be very interested in how you branch it off as the park grow. That is one of the most realistic monorail stations I have ever seen. As for the name, don't get hung up on it. As the creator of the thread you can edit it at any time. Right now I haven't seen enough to even try to name the park. Just an FYI, watch your capitalization, punctuation and spelling on this site. They take proper grammar very seriously around here. Good luck with your park looking very forward to seeing it. -

If there are paths on the map the problem sounds like you have a owned path touching an unowned path. This can cause the map to alter what's owned and or unowned when you leave the landscaping page of the editor. If there are no paths touching on the map I have no clue why it would mess up like that. I have nothing but BAD LUCK using the "Own All Land" function on 8cars so I would say DON'T HIT IT!, but then again save your game under a different name and hit it anyway. What could it hurt as long as you have a back up. The way you wrote it is the "correct" way, however I have never had any problems loading it before RCT either. -

There is no "build" thread here at TPR. If your having a problem just trying to build and your not wanting a personal thread about it you can post it here. Someone will help you get past the stuck point your at. If you have a "project" your working on and want to share it's construction and get advise as your going along start a thread about the project. Post some pictures, ask for some opinions. Remember to put RCT2 in the title so users of that game can find your post and those with no interest in RCT2 can ignore it. Need to know what "error" your getting. Error Trapper, or Missing DAT? -
It's your park BelgianGuy, and a very NICE one at that. I would put money on that you would win over at NE with this and for that matter most of your parks. I don't see why you can't release your park anywhere you want, whenever you want, as many times as you want. If what I quoted from Mochtroid is really the way things are run over at NE they seem very arrogant and/or childish after all, it is JUST A GAME isn't it? I have enjoyed watching this park grow and will enjoy seeing it in person when and if you make it available here at TPR.

I wonder how many households with these sets have had to replace display cases, TVs or any other glass object that may have been in the path of a run-a-way ball when it flew off the track? Nice video, looks like you could really have a lot of fun with a set that large. Would like to see you push those little marbles to the limits with steep drops, over banked turns and inversions.

For those of you who did not see my post in the "Preview Thread" I have started working on a water park. This park will have water rides that look like what water rides should look like. What I mean is you will not see long stations or lifts (where they shouldn't be) and the rides will FUNCTION at full capacity. There will be no single rafts slowly going backwards to the start of rides like has been done in so many parks. The hotel and parking areas will be alive with activity. Guests walking all over the hotel eating, drinking, coming and going from the park via monorails and paths. There will also be rides in the building. The parking lot will have cars driving around with guests in them. I have just finished up in the editor mode. I am just about ready to put the first attractions in the hotel. Much decorating of the area still needs to be done but the building itself is complete as are the parking lots and streets. No cars driving yet, just the pavement is done. An overview of the hotel and parking areas. In this picture you can see parts of 3 parking lots on the west side of the map. There are 3 more on the east side. Here again some paths are in the park and some are not. Guests will have FULL access to the parking lots and will be able to drive around. They will also be able to walk to the park or take a monorail to the hotel and enter the park from there. The cars you see in the picture have not been colored yet and these cars are just senery, they will not move. An updated picture of one of the entrances to Pirate Bay. The paths of the hotel. Some are in the park some are out. It really is a giant mess of paths and was very confusing trying to get it built. Pirate Bay Hotel.

^ That is were all the problems getting the park to open are coming from. I have never been able to get the park to open either. Every time I put in a plug-in that's missing an new shows up. Go back into your saved game and open the little disc icon (options) and export plug-in will be at the very bottom next to real names of guests. Check-mark it and save it again. That's all it takes. Will you be putting up a new download of the park?

dmaxsba2408 replied to Stoksy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^ Do you mean rotate it in the editor?, if so there is no way to do that. You have to make 2 or 4 (depending on the type of object) separate bmp's. One for each angle. Your paint program should have a rotate button, do it there and save each angle then export them to the editor. Once you have each angle in the editor you can move the object around using the arrow buttons to get each one lined up on the grid. This takes patience and sometimes many tests of your object against "IN GAME" objects to make sure everything lines up. Just make sure when you get it right you make a couple of backups so if by chance you accidentally remove them from your computer you still have them somewhere else. Always sucks to have to start over. -

I can't help you, I have never tried to do that, however there was a park released a few days ago that had it done on one of the coasters. Topic was [RCT2] The San Francisco Boardwalk. If you don't get an answer here in a few days try asking it there or PM the author of the post. link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52396 Not sure what problem your having getting it to just move forward or getting it to take the forward track. I have never been on that ride but from what I have seen on video the train uses only gravity and brakes to get around the course once it is off the lift(s). Moving Forward - Make the track go up hill in reverse, once it stops it should start moving forward. If you want it to stop and stay there like Everest does you might be able to make that happen with the use of some well placed block brakes. Taking the Forward Track - If you were able to get it to stop moving forward and then reverse down the alternate track it should be the exact same process to get from the reverse track to the forward track again. If that is not working I can't really help you here, need to have the park to work on it myself to see the problem and try to figure out whats going wrong. email: deltzroth@woh.rr.com -

You can put anything in the game you want. You need Doctor J's object editor (if you don't already have it). Copy any BMP image on to it (depending on the object you many need to copy it 2/4 times one for each view), name your object and hit save. However, I wouldn't recommend being so simple about it. If you want it to look good you need to really spend some time getting all the angles right and getting it lined up. It can be very frustrating. It may be simpler to take an object that already exists (like a plain wall) copy it to your paint program and add the graphics you want. Export it back to the editor change it's name and description and save it. RCT2objectEditor123.zip Object Editor -

I have not altered the game in any way. The monorail works just as it always has and the cars will be various versions of the car ride(s) that are in the game. The monorail will make stops in the parking lot and pick up quests and bring them from their cars to the hotel and back. Guests will also be able to walk to the hotel from their cars. As for how the cars will function I am not going to share that (yet) but I will tell you they will "look" like they are slowly driving around the parking lot(s). The entire hotel and parking area is a very tricky balance of owned and unowned land that will make everything look like it is alive with activity instead of just a hollow hotel and an empty lifeless parking lot. -

^ most definitely agree. Have started on a new park. It is going to be a water park. Everything will be functional. Spent many hours trying different ways to make realistic WORKING water slides that look like what a water slide should look like. I don't mean a raft going slowly backwards to the start of the ride like I have seen so many water parks do. These rides will have full guest capacity. I really think I can make this work. I am still in the editor mode right now. Working on a huge hotel that is in the park and out of the park. Figured it would just be easier to do it in the editor than constantly switch back and forth inverting land. The hotel and parking lots will not be the normal DEAD areas. They both will have plenty of things going on in them. Cars driving around, monorail stops, rides and food with paths that let you see guest using the hotel. Who was *KONG supposed to be and why did you kill him off right when you open the park?, or was it just a knock on all the idiots that jump of the Golden Gate Bridge? Revolution was great. Haven't seen one of those in a park for a long time. You supported it very well, It looked amazing. However the track needed to be one piece longer, the train went over the edge before going backwards. A set of brakes on it would have eliminated the need for such a long up slope. I remember seeing on one of the trainers where you could rotate entrance/exits. Is that how it was done for Revolution or was it some other trick? Great little park!
