  1. So Excited for this! My mother still lives in Atlanta and I go to see her several times a year. Currently have a Seasons Pass and will definitely renew it!!
  2. I love that you loved Hershey! I went before Skyrush and really loved the park (Lightning Racer for the Win!!,) then went back after they had built SkyRush. Talk about some lovely yellow airtime filled icing and an already wonderful cake!!
  3. I can't recall, does CP have a Planet or Camp Snoopy? I don't remember seeing one, but it isn't something I have really looked for in the past.
  4. Although I live in Orlando, I'll probably always consider SFoG my home park (plus, there's not anything I can really think of that I won't ride at Disney.) At SFoG I'll skip Thunder River and Splashwater Falls. Thunder River is an amazing rapids ride, but once they installed the water cannons I just stopped enjoying it. I always liked the fact that you had a "chance" of getting soaked, but with the addition of the cannons, if there are people up there - you WILL get soaked. Too Soaked. Splashwater Falls - when I was a kid I loved getting just head-to-toe soaked, but now...not so much. Wallet, keys, phone...too many things to have to dry out that could be ruined, plus wet shoes in a theme park are a little slice of hell on earth to me.
  5. ^^ It does look odd with the tiny trains, but what an excellent picture! Love those Sky Ride "balls." David
  6. Looking at those pictures, it is just sad how run-down Cyclone got as it aged. I'd have been perfectly happy with topper track and paint, but I'm hopeful that whatever comes in to replace / renew it will be great.
  7. Thanks for posting Bill! Looks like a great time.
  8. ^ Agreed. I'm glad that if it had to happen, it happened where it did as I'm sure injuries were minor. Much better a slow bump than a collision.
  9. Although it was super outdated, I always enjoyed the hell out of my visits to Disney Quest. I'll most likely never set foot in the sports place they are replacing it with because it carries absolutely no interest for me. That being said, I do understand their reasoning. I'll carry some fond memories of our visits there and wish them the best in the new venture.
  10. The higher the hair the closer to God! This has officially made my day
  11. In other non celestial news, it would be really cool to get up there for the Pumpkin event. I'd love to go sometime and hope someone will go and post a trip report this year to let us know how it is.
  12. I get it because of the idiocracy effect and the park trying to protect people from themselves, but I do think that the entire country is going overboard about eye health and the eclipse. We've been through eclipses before in this country and seeing how a huge majority of people over 40 aren't blind - I think we'll be okay.
  13. Me too! I was kind of shocked by how "turnt" up the violence got in a few scenes. Not bad shocked, just taken by surprise. I really enjoyed it.
  14. I would have loved to have been there just to see Dolly. I'm not a country music fan at all, but I absolutely love Dolly Parton and think she is just an awesome human being.
  15. Skyrush is my favorite coaster just because it is so damned out of control feeling (and I feel that I will end up somewhere out in the parking lot during some of those airtime moments.) I'll agree with the "donkey kick" on the first drop. First time I rode, I was hands up....until about 1/4 of the way down the first drop.....when I screamed like a girl and held on for dear life
  16. Although the first part of the ride looks to be huge, imposing and spectacular, I think I will enjoy the latter part of the ride more. It just seems so out of control and fast going through the structure. I'm really looking forward to this, and the whole thing looks amazing.
  17. ^ I was kind of -meh- about them at first, then rode the one at SFoG. It was really a LOT of fun.
  18. Thanks for the pictures!! Looks like a nice little park. The new coaster is beautiful, but I'm also intrigued by the double loop. Is it Schwartzkopf?
  19. I always check here first on announcement days. I'll be at work, so following different parks announcements just isn't going to happen. Plus - here I can get them all in the same place, get good information, and it's like Christmas in August! Thanks Robb and the TPR crew for gathering and posting this information for us
  20. Six Flags America is gonna get a wall, and Six Flags Mexico is gonna pay for it
  21. That is the thing. The people that live right near the park do not go. I have spoken with a few managers about this just last year. The people that come here are from DC - the lower income suburbs around it. This! I remember when SFoG had the "reputation." They did, at the time, draw a more questionable clientele. There were more fights, etc. During that period, people from the suburbs (less than an hour away) really didn't go to the park at all unless it was for a company buy out. I've heard that the crowd at SFA is MUCH MUCH better than it used to be. If so, the word slowly gets out and the suburbanites start going back. It isn't a quick process, and with no new stand out attractions for several years, there's nothing to make them think about it.
  22. Some people just want to watch the world burn
  23. ^ I understand what he is saying. He likes the more "classic" feeling coasters and the more free feeling airtime that their trains and restraints provide.
