  1. Will there be any more updates soon? I am really interested in this park and it would be a shame to see it end so suddenly, especially after adding Voltage.
  2. I doubt so. Most of their camelbacks are designed the same.
  3. Thursday, June 3, 2010 David Trust - Valley Hills' spokesperson The 2010 season is here! Valley Hills may be stepping into a new decade, but two of this year's new additions take a new spin on classic designs. Rotor makes its return to Valley Hills after closing in 1986. The ride was previously plagued with mechanical issues, however this modern, more efficient, in-house design is sure to outlast the previous version. As the name implies, riders are spun around a giant rotor-like contraption & stay glued to the wall via-centrifugal force while the floor drops beneath them. Quite the thrill! Families can enjoy a new mild-thrill ride this year with the introduction of Charlie Brown's Wind-up. Riders aboard Charlie Brown's Wind-up will experience a "whiplash" effect while being "wound-up" around two tight corners, experiencing a fun dose of G-forces. Charlie Brown's Wind-up, and Rotor will be located adjacent to Planet Snoopy, on the former Dodge Em' bumper car location. Allegheny Market, also NEW for 2010! Allegheny Market replaces the former Allegheny Hall eatery, now featuring a new and expanded outdoor eating area. Guests can now enjoy their meals while being entertained by a live show, or the passing Kanawha Railway with it's all-new, close-up viewing area. Allegheny Market serves freshly made pretzels, chili dogs, and candy apples. All served with a choice of southern-style sweet or unsweet tea. The trail that connected the former Allegheny Hall to the western midway has been expanded to now connect the new Allegheny Market to both the western and now northern midways. Not so significant, but for those looking for a shortcut around the park, this should come in handy. Guest experience and convenience is important to! Valley Hills' Coasters after Dark continues to expand this year, now open to the general public for $19.99 per person (limited availability). Cardinal has now been added to the ride itinerary. Blackwater Falls celebrates its 15th year in 2010. The spillwater attraction was the world's single tallest (85'), fastest (41 mph), and steepest (52°) water ride when it opened on May 5, 1995. Last season's new addition, Rattle Snake Backwards, and this year's Rotor. Here, Charlie Brown's Wind-up is lit up with bright LED bulbs. The Valley Hills skyline makes a colorful impact when it's all lit up at night! Allegheny Market stays open well after the sun goes down. Season Pass holders now receive a 15% discount on all meals at any eatery after 6 P.M. ~David Trust
  4. Yes, Valley Hills is back. I've been quite busy, and have been slacking on the updates. There will be much more frequent updates this week Thank you for the compliments. It continues to surprise me when I hear people's response to my park, as I originally never imagined it would become this popular. Next update will be posted soon.
  5. 2013 - GateKeeper, Cedar Point 2014 - Banshee, Kings Island also, The Bat re-theme at Kings Island.
  6. With more secured restraints, I could see this happening. However, I can see this suffering the same fate as the Windseekers, as it probably wouldn't operate in high winds. Here is another crazy idea involving tower swings. - A Windseeker with OTS vest restraints - You enter the seat normally - ride starts up the tower, while the seats slowly tilt towards 90° (like Falcon's Fury) - spin around at the top for about a minute before the gondola suddenly drops like a drop tower Of course there would have to be a more rigid hydraulic dampers added between swing poles. And additional ones added between each swing pole and the gondola structure for when the magnetic brakes kick in.
  7. I believe this is the first time I've posted about your park. I must say, Frontier Forest is one of my favorite RCT2 park. The main street shops add a lot of character to the park. I really like Coyote a well.
  8. Beast at Kings Island I see why that thing is trimmed to death...
  9. Positive - Invertigo @ Kings Island (5G) Negative - Magnum XL-200 @ Cedar Point (-0.75??) Lateral - Beast @ Kings Island (painful, that's all I know)
  10. Phantom's Revenge is a pretty spectacular terrain coaster. Honorable mention is Thunderhead at Dollywood. Never been, but the layout looks amazing.
  11. GateKeeper running backwards. This would be fun.
  12. Beast @ KI The ride was very "meh", and just meandered around the woods without doing much of anything. The final double helix was fun though .There were a lot of surprising laterals spread throughout the ride, at some points I was seriously concerned the train would fly sideways off the track. A night ride did nothing to improve my opinion. At least in the daytime I could prepare for those jarring laterals. The ride IS fun, and also VERY overrated. Does not deserve nearly as much hype as it gets, I don't see how people consider this a "top" ride at the park. I place Vortex well above Beast. :/
  13. Invertigo at Kings Island. Front row has some crazy greyout-inducing forces. And with the coaster being a Vekoma... intense is putting it lightly. Not to mention you have to relive everything twice, and going backwards prevents you from bracing the transitions.
  14. eherm...Vekoma I rest my case.
  15. After 9 laps on Diamondback Sunday, it is now my new #1 coaster. The airtime was incredible on this one, simply amazing!
  16. I'll take everyone's tips into consideration and I will hopefully have a great time there. I just really want to get a ride in on Banshee, if temperatures permit, along with all other steel coasters. I'm not even expecting Windseeker to be open.
  17. Actually, I wrote It is not a family park, as you mentioned. It is more geared towards family & moderate rides than it is thrill rides, that was/is my point. And families doesn't mean children, it means families; Adults, teens, and children. The waterpark addition IS geared towards families, however. You also conveniently failed to mention that not only is Soak City adding the Breakers Plunge, the 90-foot speed slides, which is geared towards thrill seekers. But it is also adding Barefoot Beach, geared towards children. And Breakers Pipeline, which is geared towards groups/families. The 2015 addition is in fact, geared towards families since it has something for everyone. If you're still not convinced here is an excerpt directly from their website. Families/groups are the target audience here. A new coaster would be nice, and some enthusiasts think it is "needed". However, the park itself has other plans, and are confident enough in them to spend millions of dollars, as opposed to building a coaster. Not saying a coaster could never happen, however, the current management has other plans they see best fit for the park and it's future.
  18. #1? That is debatable. It's all how you market something, to be completely honest. The new route 76 area was an excellent choice for VF. It adds an entirely new area for a family. In the eyes of an amusement park, drawing in families is ideal since it consists of multiple people. As opposed to a coaster which is for a thrill junkie, who usually travel alone or (usually) in very small groups. And to be quite frank, VF is more of a family park, with family-to-moderate attractions heavily outweighing the big thrill rides. Hence why they're going with water next year... A coaster would be NICE, but isn't always a necessity for drawing in people. It's all about a parks individual market, and what that specific park needs are. And here, it's less mega-coasters, and more "attractions (usually) everyone can enjoy". Or else the park would be building more thrilling rides if that is their target audience. Just my 2c.
  19. Planning on visiting KI on Sunday. I don't think I'll have much of an issue regarding crowds, however, I do wonder if half of the rides will be SBNO during my one-day visit due to cold temperatures. My big 3 are Beast, Diamondback and Banshee. I hope cold weather doesn't get in my way of riding these.
  20. Nice PTR. I to am planning on visiting on a Sunday.
  21. Not impressed, looked better before. I can only hope that there is more to it...
  22. 1995 Dragon Khan The Raven T̶2̶ Eurostar
  23. I've decided I'm just going to visit the Cincinnati area and then visit the park on Sunday. Is there anything interesting to do in Cincinnati, and does anyone think I will need FL on Sunday?
