Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
JonnyRCT3 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Or Cedar Fair decided to add the trim and Kentucky Kingdom decided they didn't want one on Chang - most likely the reason had nothing to do with a "kink" in the design. Sure there may be some rides where trims are used to compensate for design "flaws" (Goliath/Titan I think could be argued as an example, but really is it a flaw that the ride is so intense or just a park looking for guest comfort?). But most of the time they serve other purposes such as ensuring each ride is the same no matter the wind/weather or train weight - a purpose having nothing to do with any design issues. You basically repeated my original point. Since the trim is to ensure a "regular" ride experience that means that it is used to compensate for what the design lacks. Therefore KK doesn't have one due to the "kinks" being worked out. Or KK (SF) just doesn't care, thus eliminating the trim. Either way, what we're both getting at is more/less the same thing. -

There seems to be a hiccup on the ride animation. There is a misplaced support in the area where the transfer track moves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4iQaj3dyGI 32 second mark -

Most likely because B&M worked out all the kinks that caused the trim on Mantis. That seems like the most reasonable explanation. -

An old-school B&M floorless coaster will open next year. This is beyond groundbreaking, it's a miracle. -

Wait, why couldn't this just be posted in the original thread? It seems redundant to have a help thread, since the original thread is made to discuss the park. Just like this one. Again, redundant. >. -

Who is Cedar Fairs? (or do you mean Cedar Fair) And is this a Paramount Park, or is paramount just part of the name? Actual images from the game would REALLY help with this not-so-informative thread. :/ The magician thing sounds cool though. -
From the official Facebook page. This is what worries me the most about the game. I feel like they're going to force everyone to have their parks split into 4 different zones. I don't mean just theming, but the physical separation. This makes me wonder if the huge sandboxes from the past will be removed & replaced by 4 smaller plots that make up one large park. It seems similar to what EA did with SimCity. We used to be able to play on HUGE maps, but then everything was reduced to pint sized maps. Simcity 4 map Click Simcity 5 map Click I understand this may be due to more detailed gameplay, and a more dedicated engine. But this would be a huge disappointment. Any type of building simulator, especially City & Amusement park ones, SHOULD NOT be limited to such small land areas. This completely ruins the fun, and throws "build the theme park of your dreams" out the window. It becomes more of a "build the theme park of your dreams, but in 4 small sections". I really hope we have the option of a SINGLE large sandbox, like those in RCT3.

JonnyRCT3 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Please, just stop Parks needs to have a viable reason to invest in any expensive expenditure. Apparently, KD park doesn't have one. A park the size of KD getting a $25 million coaster is nothing short of a miracle. They're probably still financing the ride, so of course there wont be big investments made. Parks can only do what is feasible for them, and i305 is proving just that. Calm them tits people, plz. -
