  1. No wonder why X won since two X's were placed in a row
  2. That has to be 150 very short feet http://www.rcdb.com/ig777.htm?picture=9 RCDB says 65 ft tall with a 180 ft drop...
  3. Its nice that youre getting a new ride down there. Its probably a great addition to the park, but considering its an S&S tower, I wouldnt expect a very thrilling ride. Im sure it will be fun, but probably not worth waiting in a long line to ride for.... You could get lucky though and end up with a really good one like the one in Prater Park in Vienna
  4. Nice pictures! Did you notice any difference between the trains? When I was there last year, train number 3 was very smooth while train number 2 was vibrating quite alot and had actually had a little headbanging in the outer seats. Train number 1 didnt run that day.

  6. The one at Thorpe Park is really noisy...
  7. Vekoma built smooth coasters back in 94' http://www.rcdb.com/id1094.htm
  8. There was a similar accident in Norway a few years ago. I belive one person had to be treated for minor injuries. Im glad the guy walked away in relatively good shape!
  9. It may be the size of a kiddie coaster, but this coaster beats the crap outta any B&M or Intamin Ive ever been on. The kids seems to love it aswell, even with its extremely high intensity level.
  10. Riding a rollercoaster backwards for a long period of time is a perfect way to become sick! *insert puking smiley here*
  11. Balder was incredibly smooth, smoother than most steel coasters I have ridden when I rode it last year. I was also surprised that the structure hardly moved at all. When it comes to ride experience, its definately a good ride, but I found it a bit too predictable. You pretty much know what each element is going to feel like before you hit it and every hill and turn is pretty much the same. Each element is also taken very smoothly, so you dont get any quick changes in G-forces. I can definately understand that many people love it for its airtime, headchoppers and comfort level, but for some people like me, its just not wild enough. I would love to try El Toro though, because some parts, like the first drop and the RT hill looks far more extreme than Balder. It also has a much larger variety of elements. Yngve "Give me Thundercoaster and some rain and I'll be happy" Oestbye
  12. ^^Ive never been a big fan of waterslides, usually because I dont feel quite safe on them, but damn that High-Fly slide looks awesome!
  13. The trailer video on the front page definately shows Katun. But I belive it shows Big Loop @ Heide Park if you download the full video.
  14. Didnt they have alot of rollback problems before it was actually filmed for tv?? I think I remember reading something about it. It definately went alot slower over the hills than a regular coaster train, but it still doesnt excactly look overly exciting with the exception of the first drop. BTW, thats not the only rollercoaster stunt I have seen. Check out this video of a guy on a motorcycle on Katun!!! http://www.traber-show.de/seiten/videos/rekorde.html
  15. I definately agree with some parts. Knowing how safe the rides are and getting used to the feeling of drops and inversions definately kills the adrenaline rush. I remember my first rides when I held on for dear life and thinking "Oh S**T!" going over the top.... Now there are VERY few coasters that gives me that feeling, if anyone at all!
  16. They have somthing like that in Europe I think it is called Stargate http://wipeout.free.fr/step3/37.htm
  17. Lisebergbanan had a longer line than Balder and Kanonen?? How many trains were they running? When I was there last year, Balder and Kanonen had half an hour lines while Lisebergbanan was only 5 minutes. They were running 5 trains that day. I know they only have 4 trains at the moment because of the accident this summer, but Im stil surprised that the line was that long!
  18. Great pictures, thanks for sharing them with us! I love watching fairs being set up, although fairs in Norway are VERY small (Waltzer, small ferris wheel, Gravitron and maybe a KMG ride if were lucky) Just because its in Europe doesnt mean that its always amazing!
  19. ^^^^Please fix that link! Its way too long! You can not always trust the statistics found on RCDB. And the speed changes all the time depending on weather, temperature, etc.....
  20. Eyerly Rock-O-Plane!! I both love and hate those rides....
  21. ^^Mirabilandia is correct!
  22. Sounds pretty much like my visit to those parks last summer. I loved Gardaland, even with some very average coasters. I spent 1 1/2 day there and I was not bored. I'Corsari was amazing, easily the best ride in the park. Gardaland also has the best kiddie area I have ever seen. Mirabilandia didnt impress me that much. Katun is a very good coaster, but its the only ride to keep people coming back to the park. The other coasters were nothing to write home about. One of the things that impressed me at Mirabilandia was the stunt show. It didnt excactly have the best story, but there was some really spectacular driving stunts. Looking forward to the pictures!!!
  23. Morey's Piers Which park is this??
  24. Eejanaika @ Fuji-Q Highland There are many Intamin's and B&M's out there that I want to ride, but on those rides you know pretty much what to expect once you have been on one of them. If I only could choose one coaster, Id rather choose one which could give me that "WTF is this coaster doing with me??"-feeling, which VERY few coasters does! I want to be surprised, and Im 100% sure that this coaster would do that to me. Of the coasters I have ridden its of course the one and only Wild Train @ Erlebnispark Strasswalchen!
  25. My list keeps changing all the time, but I would say it looks something like this: 1. Wild Train @ Erlebnispark Strasswalchen 2. Superman la Attracion de Acero @ Parque Warner 3. Batman la Fuga @ Parque Warner 4. Balder @ Liseberg 5. Katun @ Mirabilandia 6. Stunt Fall @ Parque Warner 7. Thundercoaster @ Tusenfryd (based on the average ride. Its probably no.2 on my list in the rain) 8. Speedmonster @ Tusenfryd 9. Lisebergbanan @ Liseberg 10. Nemesis Inferno @ Thorpe Park Honorable mentions goes to: -Jetline @ Gröna Lund -Looping Star @ Vidampark -Megablitz @ Wiener Prater
