Roaster Coaster A-GO-GO!

Talk about rolling trash can! Even Colossus @ Thorpe Park sounds nicer than this ride... -

Why is PGA's Grizzly so bad?
viking86 replied to momo1tx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Heres onride videos of both rides. You will see that while Grizzly @ PKD has quite alot of steep hills, the PGA version has alot of long pieces of almost flat track, making it a rather dull ride. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

The problem was that the trains were too heavy. And arent PTC trains pretty damn heavy or am I just imagining stuff...?? -
My dream last night was like a real version of Call of Duty. We were two teams running around on a limited area in a bombed city very much like Russian missions in the CoD games and we were all firing and throwing grenades at eachother. Then my dream suddenly changed and I was standing near the front of a ferry heading towards an island and the waves were huge, giving massive airtime everytime we went over the top. When we reached the island it felt like the ferry was going to crash into the rocks, but it stopped just at the right moment. Then I woke up.... I also had a really weird dream about a week ago containing skilifts, WWII bunkers, dead people, ghosts, school, my class and my cat screaming before I woke up. It turned out she was actually screaming at the door, but it actually became a part of my dream.

My worst experience was at Liseberg. The ride-ops for the S&S "drop" tower were busier walking around slowly, chatting around instead of doing all the stuff a ride-op should do. The line wasnt that long, but still we waited probably 30-45 mins...

I never claimed to be anti-America either, I just disagree with some of the stuff being done by the government. There is no doubt that America has done alot of good stuff for the world, but in recent times it seems like the American government is acting more and more on its own without support from the international community, and at the moment it doesnt seem to do much good....
-
Not trying to be anti-America here, but how do you know that when USA is the only country that has dropped nuclear bombs on other countries??
-
Maybe we should start with the governments with the most nuclear weapons on the planet then??? And why dont we attack Sweden instead of Iran? They also have the knowledge on how to make nuclear weapons...

Galaxy Express 999 & Aqua Stadium, Japan

Looks like a fun ride! Surprising to see lapbars on an Intamin looping coaster. And it was even more surprising that there were no headrests, even though the launch didnt look that strong... -
Here you can find an onride video of Wild Train, the greatest coaster ever made by man! http://granat.es.lth.se/~olofsrnm/nyrc/rchq.php?page=movies&id=1060

Orient Express
viking86 replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would call it a semi-terrain coaster. Look at the pictures on RCDB to see what Im talking about. You cant judge a coaster based on a recreation made in RCT. It was a great looking coaster, so its a shame that the ride wasnt any better.... -
Actually the track was still wood so its definately not wrong to call it a looping woodie. It can easily be seen in this picture. http://www.coasterimage.com/pictures/kingsisland/sonofbeast29.html

Flamingo Land Discussion Thread

Yeah thats definately weird. When a park is looking for a wooden coaster they usually go out and ride 10-15 different ones to see what kind of wooden coaster they want. -
Geauga Lake Discussion Thread
viking86 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There are two kinds of roughness. One is what I call 'aggressive roughness'. By that I mean a ride that is designed in a way that will throw the passengers around alot. Thundercoaster @ Tusenfryd is a perfect example of this. Its a very aggressive ride, which makes it my favorite coaster experience ever as long as its raining) The other kind of roughness is caused by the track being 'destroyed' and misshaped caused by wear and tear. This causes the trains to move around more as it travels along the track and when it gets too extreme it goes from fun to uncomfortable, and sometimes even painfull. Its when it comes to that point that re-tracking is neccessary. Unfortunately that happens very quickly on quite a few wooden coasters. -

Thunderbird @ PowerPark in Finland is at least partially built on a giant slab of concrete http://www.rcdb.com/ig2955.htm?picture=5 -
I think Thundercoaster at Tusenfryd is horrible and far too rough to enjoy in dry weather, but once it starts raining the ride becomes much smoother and crazier. I must say that I love being thrown around like that, but something should still be done about the ride as it felt like I was getting a spine adjustment when I rode it this summer...

Parks that let you down!
viking86 replied to Canobie Fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mirabilandia. Katun is really good and so is the stunt show. I also liked the rapids which makes you soaked, but apart from that I found very few interesting things to do in the park. The woodie sucks, the S&S towers are the weakest towers ever,..... I was just expecting more from a park of this size.... -
SheiKra to acquire Floorless Trains?
viking86 replied to Imhotep's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I dont think it makes much sense to convert the trains on SheiKra into floorless trains. It would be really expensive to do, and I doubt they would make much (if any) more money by doing so.... -

Yes, its definately a fantastic park, even with the coasters being very average. I can only remember the extra helix on the SLC being smooth though My favorite ride there is definately the pirate boat ride underground (which I cant remember the name of). Its HUGE and the theming is fantastic. The best dark ride Ive ever been on. Btw, Fuga DID break down while we were in line for it... -

Theres standard Intamin track in the station, both lifts, the turns before the drops, the drops and the splashdown sections.
