I dont have a layout (yet) so I decided to put my trains up on the wall. We had to custom make the shelf to fit the long trains. Plexiglass is going to be added on the front. As you can see, I need a "few" more freight cars...

I rarely have nightmares, but a few nights ago I had one of the worst dreams Ive had in a long time. I was at the airport, without my passport, my flight was leaving in half an hour and everything was just a mess. I know this sounds really stupid, but for some reason it really freaked me out. It didnt involve any monsters, blood or death, but it felt so real and it really made my heart beat

The Smoothest Roller Coaster
viking86 replied to Eric_Smith's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The smoothest Intamin Ive been on was smoother than any B&M I have ridden, but the roughest Intamin Ive ridden was way rougher than any B&M I have ridden..... so I dont know who to vote for.... -
If the purpose of this is to lower the gas prices I dont really see the point of it.... Filling up my 60 liter gastank on my car here in Norway costs me 100-120 dollars so what people is complaining about is beyond my understanding. But I definately agree with those saying that the oil companies makes far too much money.........

A new way to ride Stealth

It would be a much better video if they were riding Balder or EGF -
Mirabilandia (IT) Questions
viking86 replied to RCfanatic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The park can easily be done in one day. I got 16 rides on Katun when I was there, and 11 of them were after our morning ERS. If I had wanted to I could easily have ridden more aswell. I also did all the other coasters there, and a couple of the other rides. If you like getting wet then you should enjoy both the splashdown ride and the river rapids (cant remember the names). But be prepared for a very sudden stop on the splashdown ride! I would also reccomend the stunt show. These guys really knows how to drive! -
Kvasten-Gröna Lund's new coaster.
viking86 replied to Tobias94's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks fun! Should be a great experienc for kids. It will also be nice to get a new credit when Im going back to Gröna Lund in two months. -
I have been on Jetline and I really liked it. Its not amazing or anything, but its a nice, fun ride with some very intense helixes. Judging from Robb's video, Jetline seems like a better ride. BMRX seems to be trimmed quite alot during the ride, while Jetline never slowed down until the final brakes when I rode it last summer.

terra mitica oct 2006
viking86 replied to marthole's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Magnus Colossus sucks. Not even the awesome-looking first double-down is exciting. Not even in the backseat. The rest of the ride is pretty much as exciting as sleeping. Except that, unlike your bed, this thing shakes. A LOT!!! Tizona must have really been going downhill since it opened. I rode it in 2003. a few months after it opened, and I liked it. There wasnt much headbanging, and I didnt find it painfull at all thanks to the soft padding around my ears. Terra Mitica could have been a fantastic park. Its definately one of the most beatiful parks I have been to, with amazing theming and scenery. Its such a shame that the coasters are below average. -
In Norway you can: 16 - Drive with your parents, sex (only illegal if one person is above and the other below 16). 18 - Get your drivers liscence, vote, play on slot machines, buy tobacco and drinks with up to 22% alcohol I think 20 - Buy drinks with more than 22% alcohol. Not sure about the rest...

Intimin launch coasters
viking86 replied to savemagicmountain's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Intamin OTSR hurts your shoulders when riding arms up, but otherwise they are great. I prefer the B&M restraints though because you have so much more space to move around, even though they are larger. -

I havent seen one of those Sky Master rides since I was a little kid. I always get a special feeling when I see pictures of those rides. I cant really explain it, they just have this awesome look! -
I am currently planning a 4x8 foot H0 scale layout. The trackplan is based on the "Red Wing Central" layout which can be seen HERE. I have done some modifications to it. The red lines indicate track that I removed, blue indicates new track and green indicates where I will split the layout so that I can move it around easier. The lower green line will be raised a bit so that it doesnt come in conflict with any turnouts. I hope to start building it soon. To practice making landscape and stuff Im working on a small diorama. Heres some pictures of how it looks at the moment:

From what I have read, people have very different experiences at the park. I myself had an excellent time there. The coasters are average at best, but the rest of the park is fantastic! Amazing theming and lots of stuff to do. DON'T MISS the pirate dark ride. The entrance is through the pirate ship!

Here are some pictures of my cat Melissa from last year. I have posted in this topic earlier, but I looked through it and I couldnt find these pics which I think are really cool.

The seats on the Vekoma trains are amazing, like couches. Of the three woodies with Vekoma trains, Thundercoaster is the only one with that kind of lap bar and its NOT padded at all. It can hurt your knees quite a bit. The other two though has T-bar restraints which looks alot more comfortable. Oh, and I dont think Vekoma trains would work very well on SoB. From what I have heard, they are pretty damn heavy and they have destroyed Thundercoaster (fortunately its still running awesome in the rain). GCI has already started retracking parts of it.... -
Steel: Wild Train, Erlebnispark Strasswalchen (Austria) Wood: Thundercoaster, Tusenfryd (Norway) when its raining, otherwise Balder, Liserberg (Sweden) Tower: Fritt Fall Tilt, Gröna Lund (Sweden) Spinning: Starflyer, Wiener Prater (Austria) Water: Supersplash, Tusenfryd (Norway) Dark: I Corsari, Gardaland (Italy) I think thats it....

Hehe TOGO has actually only made 8 stand-up coasters, and SkyRider is the only coaster that is excactly identical to King Cobra. There are two others similar coasters, but not identical. Heres the complete list http://www.rcdb.com/installationresult.htm?column=1,10,3,4,5&order=1,2&model=199

RCDB is your best friend -
The snow is causing alot of problems in the southern part of Norway. There has been lots of smaller traffic accidents, but the most serious was a passenger train running into an avalanche and derailing. Its a miracle that none of the 130 passengers were hurt.

Ive only been on Rush at Thorpe Park and it was a nice, relaxing ride. It was fun, but it felt too controlled (like pretty much every non-coaster ride by S&S).But I would still go on it again, or any other SS....

But still far, far better than anything you'll find in Norway.... Nice trip report btw!
