  1. Great pictures! I would probably have more fun at Plopsaland than at one of those big parks with 10+ coasters. Those racing slides and the ball pit looks awesome!
  2. The rides at Dorney and Hershey are actually built by Chance Morgan in conjunction with KMG. Those rides have 32 seats and spins rather slow. On www.flatrides.com they are known as Revolution 32. The original KMG Afterburners with 24 seats, known as Fireball in the US, spins alot faster and gives a much more exciting ride. They also seem to go a bit higher than the Chance Revolution 32, although I cant confirm that. It really proves that bigger isnt always better. Of the few frisbee rides I have been on, this is definately my favorite.
  3. Its Sierra Tonante @ Mirabilandia
  4. Having been on Jetline, I would say its a somewhat intense ride, but still something that everyone can enjoy. There are far more intense rides out there....
  5. Thundercoaster at Tusenfryd sounds awful going through turns in dry weather. You know the sound is bad when passengers arent putting their fingers in their ears during the ride.
  6. Judging from Robb's video, BMRX seems to be trimmed quite alot more than Jetline towards the end. Hopefully thats something they can change before opening the ride at Camelot. This should no matter what be a good addition to the park. Jetline is a pretty good ride and Im sure this will be aswell.
  7. The guy in the front row looks like hes going to puke!
  8. Hey Colossus at Thorpe Park left me in more pain than any Vekoma coaster I have ridden But this ride wont hurt at all. Your arms/shoulders might get a bit bruised if you ride with your arms up thanks to the OTSR, but headbanging is impossible with those restraints unless you are very short. Intamin has built some coasters with insanely tight transitions lately and they dont hurt at all, so I wouldnt be worried.
  9. What makes Lisebergbanan so good in your opinion, what were you favorite parts? It is one of the higher rated ones I just don't get. Having done a mini-marathon on Lisebergbanan, I will give you my opinion of the ride. It doesnt have any crazy airtime, insane G-forces or crazy high speed. Its simply pure fun! It has a great combination of elements, and you just get the good feeling of being on a classic coaster. Its unique. It has a soul. It doesnt feel like the designers thought "Hey lets see what the computer comes up with", which is the feeling I get on many modern coasters. It may not an extreme ride, but it sure is fun and thats why so many people, myself included, loves it.
  10. Check out http://www.heinepedersen.com/ . Lots of great layouts there (cofee table, brief case, picture frame, etc....)
  11. The ride itself on Superman la Attracion de Acero isnt themed, but the station area has some great theming. Ive also heard that it gives some amazing dark rides because theres no lights around the ride.
  12. I have some Norwegian trains in HO scale, but no layout. At the moment Im working on a diorama to practice making landscape and stuff. Heres how far I am at the moment. Oh and I posted a picture of the pride of my tiny collection... (sorry about the crappy quality of the pictures, but the light is really bad in that room)
  13. I was kinda surprised to see Katun that high on the list. Its definately a great ride, but I didnt think of it as that fantastic. But I guess thats just me. After all, my favorite coaster is number 153 on the list...
  14. Definately agree with you there. How long did the topic about the repainting of V2 get....???
  15. I have been on three Intamin towers, which all three were great. Fritt Fall Tilt @ Gröna Lund was particularly awesome. I have been on 5 S&S towers and of those were one great Spaceshot (Prater), two okay ones and two really lame ones. So in my opinion the Intamin towers are faaaaaaaaar better. The S&S towers are way too controlled. Their drop towers have a quick burst of acceleration at the top and then youre being moved towards the ground at a somewhat constant speed most of the time and the effect of falling is gone. On the Intamin towers you just keeps going faster and faster as you drop, and the stomach-in-your-throat feeling seems to last forever...
  16. Im into model railroading aswell. I dont have any practice building terrain and stuff so at the moment Im working on a small railroad diorama. If Im happy with the result and my interest in trains remains I may start building standarized FREMO modules ( http://www.fremo.org/inhalt_e.htm ). There seems to be quite a few people building those in Norway at the moment...
  17. I am very sorry to hear that. I hope she went without suffering too much. As for you, I can only repeat what I wrote earlier and that is to focus on the good memories, knowing that she had a good life.
  18. It looks fun, but I dont think it looks that amazing! But it will definately be interesting to see how it performs... Yngve "who doesnt know why he cares as hes never going to ride it anyway" Oestbye
  19. I have been on a couple of SLC's and while they werent excactly smooth, I have yet to come off one in pain. I cant say the same about Colossus @ Thorpe Park and those damn Pinfari looping coasters....
  20. Its nowhere near 45 degrees!!! The lapbars doesnt hold you in your seat, they just prevent you from standing straight up. Ive been on one of those myself and you barely start sliding out of your seat. 45 degrees would feel pretty much like the lift on vekoma boomerangs.
  21. ...and by that he probably means "spend more time at the golf course"...
  22. When did Xcellerator ever have more than two trains??
  23. Tusenfryd - the entire park is on a hillside with the parking lot at the bottom. Parque Warner - definately the most 'surprising' park. If you travel by train you travel through a ditch and when you get out you suddenly see the entire park with its awesome skyline. Gröna Lund - see picture below.
  24. Im very sorry to hear this. We had two cats, but we had to take one of them to the vet a couple of years ago. He was quite old, and one day he just suddenly stopped eating and drinking. It felt like he knew it was over for him and just gave up. It left us no choice. He had been in the family since I was 4 years old so it really hurt. The only advice I can give you is to think about all the nice memories you and your cat shared. It definately helped me get over the loss fairly quickly, but I still miss him. As a non-religious person I wont pray, but I hope she doesnt have to suffer much, no matter how it ends....
  25. No youre not! What on earth does a person with as much money as Beckham need such high wages for? He says hes not going to MLS for the money, so how hes got the conscience to accept that amount of money is beyond my understanding..... The same goes for mostly all celebrities....
