  1. And I thought my season was fantastic with 8 new parks and 32 new coasters
  2. They were probably worried about his brain Seriously, Tizona wasnt bad at all when I rode it in 2003. A bit bumpy, but smooth compared to other SLC's. The soft padding around the head made sure that any headbanging wasnt painfull at all.
  3. The second drop on Thundercoaster a few years ago when it was still running fast. Now I have to agree with ncf. The third drop on Balder in the backseat is really good (and so is the rest of the hills )
  4. Oh yes I forgot to mention that. Hopefully youre not offended.... I also met Nosferatu at Tusenfryd in September this year, and I shared room with Yeah7 on ECC's Europe Trip
  5. Well I doubt that coaster was built for the thrill-seekers. It does what it supposed to do, which is to provide fun for familys
  6. I dont have any pictures, but I met Don (Jeezus Juice) and Monica on ECC's Coaster Rhapsody Trip to Hungary, Austria and Italy this summer
  7. I agree and disagree there. NI is a great coaster in it's own right. I think the loop is possible more forceful then Nemesis' and i love the inline twist into the sharp right drop. I also think that the end figure 8 helix is quite intense. I also think that the creativity of the ride layout is on par with Nemesis. The 'preshow' drop in the volcano through the mist, the s bend over a stream after the second cork, the 2 water jets in the lake under the loop all give the ride 'experience' something to cherish. IMO, i think that both rides are great and on par in most places, however i'd say nemesis gets a few more notches on the rope becuase of the intense helix, slightly better execution with themeing and terraforming. NI is let down becuase people keep comapring the 2 becuase a) same type b) same name(ish). Even though my local park is Thorpe, im an Alton fanboy at heart so don't go saying im biased to with thorpe. If NI didn't have nemesis and was say, at a europpean park, everyone would praise it. I thought England was in Europe.....hmmmm! Anyway, I agree with you. I think Nemesis Inferno is a very good ride. Smooth and enjoyable, but also intense. If they hadnt called it Nemesis Inferno then people wouldnt have been comparing it so much with Nemesis. It also pretty well-themed and considering the small space it occupies its just more impressive in my opinion.
  8. Colossus @ Thorpe park. Many people seems to love it, but I found the layout somewhat uninteresting (especially the second half) and it was vibrating like crazy. The hard OTSR that covers the entire sides of your head didnt excactly make it any better. I dont think Balder is THAT fantastic either. The turns are too slow and a bit boring. Dont get me wrong, I do think its a great coaster with some excellent airtime, but I find it hard to belive that its the best wooden coaster in the world. Still I dont think Liseberg could have gotten anything better in the tiny space that Balder occupies. About the best wooden coaster in the world..... well I guess that totally depends on who you ask
  9. That looks like a Schwarzkoph Shuttle Loop and not an Arrow
  10. Yay airtime hills without airtime!!! What more could ya want? The video was funny, but I would probably have been really pissed if I lived near that park. Yngve "Trim brakes suck" Østbye
  11. I dont have a homepark really, but the closest park with decent coasters is Tusenfryd, only 8-9 hours away. Thundercoaster is easily the best coaster in the park, although I consider it to be 'just ok'. It was a fantastic coaster when it opened, but now its just a pale shadow of what it used to be. Next year however, Im excepting a totally different coaster to be the best one
  12. I just came across this funny ME picture. I think it fits the rides reputation pretty good
  13. The first half of Chang is an almost excact mirrored clone of Mantis. The second half however is different
  14. Revolution looks like it would be an excellent ride if they hadnt messed with the restraints. I rode Looping Star at Vidampark this summer and it was a great ride. You just cant beat the feeling of going through a loop with just a lapbar and no seatbelts
  15. Of those Ive been on: 1. Katun 2. Batman la Fuga 3. Nemesis Inferno All great coasters in my opinion!
  16. What The, You think megafobia sucks, it is one of the worlds best woodies, it has great airtime so I think megafobia is way better than the new eurofighter. Everyone has their own opinions. Atleast he used the words "I think" which alot of people dont. And I think you should be happy as there will be one person less queueing for Megaphobia
  17. http://schwarzkopf.coaster.net/ESthrillerGF.htm According to that site Thriller pulled 6.5G's
  18. The problem is that many people dont know that they have a heart disease and therefore they think its safe to ride rollercoasters...
  19. Rollercoasters could be bad for people with heart problems..... who would have belived that??
  20. Heh Norway is finally getting its first good steel coaster and youre pissed off?? Oh yes I forgot, you dont have any good steel coasters over there called Storm Runner, Superman Ride of Steel or Montu just to mention some.....
  21. Balder has by far the most airtime of all the coasters Ive been on. But I belive that Wild Train @ Erlebnispark Strasswalchen has the strongest, most insane ejector airtime Ive ever experienced
  22. Theres already a topic about it http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20654
  23. My first looping coaster was Speed Loop, a Pinfari looping coaster that came with a fair in Bergen, Norway. It was also my first non-kiddie coaster. Horrible rough ride that hurt my ears. Heres some pics of the ride at a fair in Dublin: http://www.themeparks.ie/fairs/2004fund/speed1.htm http://www.themeparks.ie/fairs/2004fund/speed2.htm
  24. According to Justin Garvanovic, founder of ECC, Steel Dragon 2000 could be scrapped. There has been a small discussion about this on the ECC mailing list and when asked why they didnt just change the wheel assemblies this is what he replied: "It is really complicated. A few points: 1) The park does not own the ride - a trading company does. 2) For legal reasons it may be better to scrap it. There is a lot of steel in that ride. 3) I spoke to the designers at IAAPA, and they themselves don't know what will happen to it. 4) They have new wheel designs, but are not holding their breath waiting for anything to happen." It would be such a shame to see the worlds most expensive coasters scrapped as it looks like a very good ride and it shouldnt be very hard to fix it. Although I will probably never visit Japan I find this very frustrating.
