  1. It looks like a cool ride, but I cant imagine them making much money on it as there wont be much people riding it. Btw, I agreee with Don that Prater is one FANTASTIC park. It has such a great collection of classic and modern rides, and the atmosphere is just fantastic. One of many excellent surprises on the ECC trip. It may be expensive if you want to try everything, but its definately worth it. And where else can you ride a big-ass ferris wheel from 1895 or something? Or a butter-smooth vekoma with helixes that almost makes you grey out? Yngve "Starflyer rocks" Oestbye
  2. Despite Ive heard it being called a junkyard-with-coasters, it looks like a fairly nice park and I feel really sorry for the people in the Houston area who used to visit SFAW. Hopefully most of the rides will find a better home
  3. I totally disagree with that. I found Rush @ Thorpe park to be rather tame. There is some floating on the top of each swing, but you dont get the sensation of being on something powerful at the bottom. The KMG Afterburner that I rode on a fair 1 1/2 years ago was waaaaaaaaay better. It had more airtime on the top, and pulled some good G's at the bottom. I still think Skyhawk will be a fun ride, and since its so large Im sure it will be pretty cool looking down when youre at the top
  4. Excellent update as always! The last fireworks picture looks just amazing!
  5. If you look at SoB and other RCCA woodies that Stengel have been involved in, you will see that the transitions and trackshaping is pretty much perfect and those coasters would be very smooth if they were made of steel. So the track calculations have nothing to do with those coasters being rough.
  6. The first half of the batwing on Montu and TG;TJC is pretty much like a small dive loop
  7. Oh well, its still gonna be fantastic and Im sure it will pull some serious G's in the bottom of the pretze loop
  8. Thundercoaster @ Tusenfryd. Its not the roughest wooden coaster Ive been on, but its one of the few exciting woodies Ive been on. If it only was smoother and faster (the shuffling causes it to lose alot of speed) it would have been one hell of a good ride...
  9. Well nothing beats a good german fair, but compared to norwegian fairs you have some pretty damn good fairs overthere in Cali too so you have no reasons to complain
  10. Olympia Looping..... *droooooooooool* Nice TR! German fairs looks so awesome!
  11. Heres my desktop at the moment! I took the picture yesterday
  12. ^Oblivion's drop is 87 degrees according to RCDB while Sheikra has a 90 degree drop.
  13. Colossus isnt rough, but it was vibrating like crazy when I rode it this summer and that caused my head to hit the restraints, which are NOT very soft. My ears hurt for a week!
  14. Heres some more pictures that I took today. Im really pleased with how they turned out. All of them are taken from my house War of the Worlds 2 "concept artwork"
  15. Nice TR! I pretty much agree with you about the coasters, but I found Rush to be rather tame compared to other swinging rides like KMG Afterburners (24 seat version). Its a shame you didnt try Slammer because I thought it was awesome. Best non-coaster ride in the park for me
  16. Look at all the people in Norway!!
  17. Seems to me like every amusement park is "haunted" go get attention from people. But still I think its very cool to hear all these stories so please keep them coming
  18. I really liked Superman la Attracion de Acero @ WBMW Madrid. Ok so the inversions might be "forceless" but they are still very fun. What makes the ride so great though is the airtime you get on it. The first drop in the backseat is spectacular, with airtime all the way down. The hill after the cobra roll also has the most perfect floater airtime Ive ever experienced. I was floating between the seat and the restrains over the entire hill. The helixes towards the end are also very fun as they are very close to the ground and theres a small hill between them which also has some airtime
  19. And just when I thought I couldnt be more excited about this ride
  20. ^^I would suggest getting RCT2 as you can get it very cheap with expansion packs. I also find RCT2 to be easier, faster and less frustrating to use than RCT3 so I have more fun with RCT2
  21. Well Soaked did fix alot of the problems with RCT3 like framerate and such so if they have done a good job with Wild I might get it.
  22. Heres a few of my favorite pics: My meat-eating plant Heres my cat Melissa War of the Worlds 2 [/img]
  23. ^^^Ummm I think you might be confusing Speedmonster and Humdinger @ Thorpe park. Speedmonster is at Tusenfryd in Norway
  24. Balder gets my vote. The first drop in the backseat is just amazing
