Cedar Fair's "Maverick"
Gnome replied to MJHammer1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Maverick is gonna own my face. I sure hope it doesn't turn out to be a flying coaster though, it would be to much of an eye roller, and I don't think my eye muscle's are strong enough to roll them that much if that turns out to be the case. -

What is the best Rollercoaster in the World???
Gnome replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Whats funny about that is Mitch Hawker's poll is generally TPR's opinion. In fact its the whole coaster community's opinion. I would take that into serious consideration. Anyways, I wouldn't say MF looks brilliant, but it looks a great ride, no doubt. All though I would rather have S:ROS NE's super ejector air time hills over MF's Speed & Hight. -

^ for the most part, Arrow's don't have a problem with side to side head banging, its more your head slamming on the head rest kind.

^ I don' think he's what they're looking for. See, it says here.... I don't think it falls under the "outstanding" catagory, oh no, he's gone above and beyond with this idea.

Ok, OK, OK, I've thought about this, and the only flaw you have in this is your eruption chamber, and its not how you do the chamber, but its how would you keep the cars flowing without backing up and waiting a in a huge line, or stopping frequntly. Obviously you would stop the cars at specific locations so trains could smoothly go into the chamber and not back up. Even Indiana Jones has specific waiting points for cars to go through before they hit the boulder, ect, and it would the basic idea, except this is on a grander scale. So basically, how you handle the capacity thing? DO you think your design would allow for well flowing ride with only 1 eruption chamber? Or do you think you would need 2 different chamber? Or what? Ellaborate Also, I think this would be a perfect edition for the animal kingdom, even though they already use this ride system, but they also use the same ride systems for a bunch of stuff at Disneyland resort, so you can argue that point across.

holy crap, this thing is detailed. Only a week, all this took you? You should seriously consider making this a profession.

Yup, I'm thinking the same, I think that would be cooler than a launch, anyways. -

Silver Bullet has been running pretty bad lately. My best experience was during halloween, and it was pretty forceful in the back seat, I got off and my legs were tingling. But on my past couple of visits, all I felt was a bunch of vibrations from the trains needing some maintnance, and not much force at all. As for me, I've always had fun at knotts, but ever since the old management was replaced by CF (and even before then) you could feel the atmosphere just slowsly start to die. At least with the knotts family management, they would put some thought into thier rides (ie 20 million for that POS jaguar, most of that was theming) and then ghost rider was a nice touch to ghost town, imo. And wind jammer is what really held the beach theme together. After that got ripped out that whole area has just lost any atmoshpere it once had. Now all you have is a good ride, but no atmoshpere. And the thing that pisses me off most is about knotts is that they screwed up Kingdom of the Dinosaurs by putting them as trains. It was a good dark ride, and they ruined it by putting the trains together. Also, another thing is what they did to the lake after the put in silver bullet. They should have managed thier budget better so they could of at least had more of the lake and had the little train take its full path, and have the tug boat take its full path, and now there is just barely any water, and its so bad looking. But its not like the park is bad, its just not as good back in its glory days when it could compete with Disneyland in regards to fun. -
here's a suggestion, go to knotts. Go to one of thier sit down style restraunts in ghost town, like that one that sells the pizza, or the place that has the ham (which is pretty good) and it has a whole table matt full of history from its humble begginnings all the way to silver bullet. THere's a possibility I'm giong friday, so maybe I could bring one back for you assuming your report isn't due this week. I think the knotts website also might have a history section in it, so you might want to check that out.

your a let down! -
The best way to ride a stand up, imo, is to have your legs slightly bent before they lock the seats down, and then once it is locked, then stand up nice and strait, that should keep you from having your "sack problems" As for head banging just keep your head back, and keep erect for the most part, although I know when I'm really enjoying a ride, I'll put my head forward, and I'll get some head banging on some B&M's but its not that bad, so i just enjoy it.

Yea! Knotts is getting one of those giant tornado things! Oh wait, SFHH already has one of those. Why can't knotts get something that HH doesn't have? HH even has the same body slides as knotts. Well, I doubt I'll ever go back to Soak City.

I don't remember if I mentioned this here, but I think that this one could have a launch. Discuss your opinions on this. -
overshawdowed? The thing has lost all of its kick in the launch, I swear my mom's mini van has better acceleration the S:TE But at least when you still get some floaty feelings at the top, though and it always makes me smile.

From what my cousin has told me and from video's I've seen they don't look that much different. They both run on its own sequence thing, and I'm pretty sure that it could drop to the bottom if they wanted to as the station below it is like 20 feet forward. Also I've heard reports from many people who say its better, so obviously they must at least be on par with each other. -
I imagine you get paid fairly well once you get to the top, but nothing you can get rich off of.
