Gnome replied to cgodsey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just got word that my brother was going to be home this weekend and he too would like to go to the construction tour and ERT, ect. And so anyways, is there any way to add him to my group even though I'm already signed up? Or do I just sign him up?.... Is it to late? elaborate... -
You're just TOO BIG to ride!!!
Gnome replied to SlimCoasterRider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
there's only 1 ride I've seen that doesn't allow much accomadation as far as size goes. You basically have to be of relative size and you can't be tall. The ride I'm referring to is La Revolution at Knotts. I can't tell you how many people I've seen told that they can't ride just because they're to big, and half the time its not because they're too fat, but mainly because they're too tall. You can't control your hight, and it should be that hard to design the restraints a little better to accomdate tall people. Also, it has to be pressed right up agianst your stomach, so you can't be pushing "being too fat." I think they should design the restraints to accomdate more people then what they currently do, but generally speaking I think its more of the rider's responsibility. -

I actually thought up an idea that they could do to help secure thier TBars, even in case the restraint does malfunction. They could have seat belts on the left and right side of the seat, and once they pull down the lap bar, then they pull the seatbelt up from the ground and hook it into the correct seat belt spot on the restraint (left seatbelt goes into the left socket of the restraint.. ect) and basically the seatbelt would lock and couldn't extend (like in a car) once the ride releases, or w/e. If that makes any sense. I think I might draw a diagram to better clarify what I'm trying to say. -

You can't heartline a 4D. That's not heartlining in the full-full. It's just turning. Actually I think you can heartline it. Heartline would revolve around that purple thing in the center to give both sides an equal ammount of tug. -
^ glad you didn't fall through the grate onto the vekoma ride. Also nice side boobage as well as video.

Anyone noticed that the start of the full full is partially heartlined? I can already see one improvement, but wether or not it will do anything, I don't know... According to Google, that's 262 feet, more than 60 feet taller than X. I guess that rules out the possibility of it being entirely a clone. We already knew that when they announced the full-full element.... I dunno, but it sounds like some of you want it to be a clone just so you can bag on it. I personally couldn't care less, all I want to see is the improvement of capacity, and a smoother ride, really. -

According to my calculations, this thing is 9 days away, so when should we expect a confirmation email? -

Knott's gets about 50 gazzillion private dances a year. My old school went there last yeear for sades (they've done that several years running) and my new school is going thier for this year. Yeah it's some sades hawkens thing. did you guys ever ride the attractions ? Just Boomerang, La Revolution, Wipe Out, and Supreme Scream. SS had a long line, Boomerang had no line (what a surprise? So me being the smart man I am, decided to marathon it. I didn't feel all that good the rest of the night, but it was worth it, I think. ) La Revolution had some line, and I don't really like wipe out so I only went on it once. I know earlier in the year a school went thier for formal, and since they had to share part of the evening with the guests, they got access to all the rides, wether or KNOTT (pun intented) all the rides were open for them, I do not know... You live in rhode island and go to school in California.... amazing. -

OMG, where have I been? I actually did not know that. Everytime I went by it, it looked like it might have been open, just no one wanted to pay money for it. Clearly I'm retarded.

I wish knotts still had thiers... Anyways, assuming its still open next time I go in a week or 2, I'll have to try it.

I can't see this plan working at Elich's Garden. THey should scrap that park. Anyways, this is what I would like to know about Shapiro.... Instead of building a new ride, will he use that extra money to maintain the rides they currently have? I mean almost all the wooden roller coasters at the Six Flags parks are neglected, so will they get regular retracking? (say once every 4 - 5 years?) Also another consern is how high will the price hikes go? If they're out pricing disney and aren't really giving me the experience that Disney Does (ie $70,000 shows like Fantasmic) or the 'atmostphere" then I'm not going to want to pay anymore. ALso people don't look at, "oh I'm spending 10 hours at the park today so $60 is worth it." They think, holy crap I have to pay $60 for myself, my wife, and my 2 - 3 kids. And then I got to pay $15 for parking, then I got to buy them all food. I wouldn't go beyond that $60 pricing myself.... -
Man, I'd hate to see this ride die just because of some clearance issues.... And I'm not just talking about what SFMW should do with it, I'm generally thinking about what they can do with it to keep it lasting at any park. But since SFMW isn't too far away, it'd be nice if they kept it there and fixed those major problems.

just bumping the topic in case if anything new comes along. It was buried a couple of pages back. Hope thats alright. -
maybe a company like premier can strip it of all its mechanical parts and have it fitted with new parts (even if it means they have to manufacture new steel, if they could fix up the first drop, I'm sure they could fix up the rest) and then also have them redisign the restraint system so its "safe" enough for them.

I had a dream that I was at Hershey's Park because we had to go do some charity thing for it. And anyways the ony ride that was running was great bear. And we were promised that when we finished we could ride on it, and by the time we finished it was closed. I also had a dream of Kentucky Kingdom once. Drove right by chang several times and I was promised I could ride it, but I never did. They torment me in my dreams.
