Gnome replied to cgodsey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!

Flamingo Land is suppose to get a gravity group coaster for the 07 or 08 season, or so the rumors say....

Gnome replied to cgodsey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
alright thanks. You think we could get a sticky on this so I don't have to keep on going back to look at the info? I'm sure there are other people out there that are considering going and would like it stickied, as well. -
but then with the WDW pass your getting all the parks, right?

Wood Coaster Maintenance?
Gnome replied to downunder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Steel - $12 million upfront cost to build. Only thing you have to really maintain are the trains, and all the mechanical pieces. Wood - $2 - $6 million depending on the size of a ride your building. You have to maintain all the above, and then the track, and supports. And then you get into Intamin Prefabbed. I don't know about those, maybe they're so well put together they just run it like a steel coaster. -
I haven't collected anything. How can I even consider myself a coaster geek if I don't collect anything!!! NOOO33300111rrrr!!! lol

Windjammer was my first looping coaster!
Gnome replied to kraxleRIDAH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ no, windjammer is more of a, "ow this kind of hurts, buts its kind of a fun ride." And Psyclone is like a, "Why the hell did I go on this?" *me runs off screaming in pain* kinda thing. -
now wouldn't couldn't some one had gone in there and gotten him. THe guy who fell with him could not have been that far from him. Makes me sad.
-
Its a tamed down version now called Stitches escape or something like that. Too bad, I wish I could have gotten over there to experience it.

Windjammer was my first looping coaster!
Gnome replied to kraxleRIDAH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I didnt get to much head banging on it when i was a youngin, then again, I also didn't get that much on Viper, and others. So being barely tall enough to ride has its advantages, I guess. But those days are gone. -
Original Ghost Rider 1998 Press release.
Gnome replied to Gnome's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
seems to have most of the info I was looking for in there. Thanks. -
I was wonderign if anybody has the GR press release archived anywhere. I remember reading it in the Press Release on the OC register back when they were still constructiing it. And there is some info on it that I wanted to read. (IE the costs of it so I can compare it to the Voyage costs, and what the management has to say about it as well.) Also if you have any other knotts press releases archived (iE Wind Jammer, Xcelerator, various flat rides) I wouldn't mind seeing those either.

do we have to be a member of rideworld or ACE in order to partake? -
^ agreed, but people don't want to be the one to tell the handicapped person, "I'm sorry you can't ride." But I agree it would be much better to say that then telling that person's parents, "i'm sorry your son/daughter died."

So is are the deaths on both of Intamin's super flumes the reason another one of them have not been built? Or is it the low capacity? The Foot print? The COst? Or basically everything about it?

Intamin Accelerators
Gnome replied to HCOSurfer90's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think rocket coasters are the name we gave em, but Intamin has had it listed on its sit as accelerator coaster for as long as its been listed on the site which happened shorly after dragster if I recall. -
you gotta go easy on me for the next couple of weeks, I broke my arm and its veryy diffucilt to spell. I've made about a bazillion mistakes already (most of which have been corrected) but if Ican get some tolerance from you for the nextcouple ofw weeks everything should be fine.

I prefer seeing Such & Such sponsored by Pepsi or Pepsi presents such and such instead of the ride being named after the product. But there are those rare times where naming it after a company works like the GM test Track robb mentioned earlier.
