Wait... A Volvo Museum, too? Totally forgot about that! It was our very first car, back in 1974. We loved Volvos. Miss the ones we owned. -

^^ Wonderful HM collection display, Chuck! That all reminded me of a framed art concept I saw in the display they had for HM's 50th Anniversary. The whole exhibit was in Disneyland's Opera House where the usual "Great Moments w/Lincoln" is...was? I forget. Wanted to buy it, but it wasn't available. <sad> Glad you're doing your part, Foolish Mortal. Sept.09, 2019. -

New photo posted of finishing up on CARStastrophe Canyon (hee hee). Looking good, down there. It was also alluded, that a possible change in the attraction's name will happen. From "Cars Route 66 Road Trip" to just "Cars Road Trip". Apparently they are finding that "Route 66" (even though it is a part of the entire movie) doesn't equate to certain European languages. "Road Trip" is easier to translate for some reason or other. There's also a rumor that "maybe" an entire Lion King themed LAND might be a future addition to the back lake area of WDS. Along with Frozen's Arendelle and Star Wars' Outpost in their respective places. That could give the entire back park area, an "Adventureland" of it's own, lol. Interesting. EDIT: The Lion King Land rumor has been around for a long time, apparently. Oh well, you never know, hmm? Photo by Disney/PIxar ~ Thanks! -
Took a few shots of a neighbour's cat, in the apartment bldg. behind us. These were taken at "twilight time," too. Which made the walls of the apt.building so 'Cobalt Blue' to see.

It's amazing what "a little tree landscaping" here and there, can transform any ride into an adventure of it's own. Jet Coaster itself was really nothing special to me, especially with those not-very-exciting dips in it. But I still really enjoyed the ride, with not being able to see all of it's track, ahead of me. All trees. Everywhere! And - I would kill to see what they could or would do for a "Halloween layover" of it, with spooks and ghouls all around in the forest, there. That would be great to ride thru. Jet Coaster's in there.... somewhere. TPR 2013 Japan Tour. -
Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread

They're posting pages from a book that was created, for the PNE's 100th Birthday, in 2010. I have a copy of it, but it's nice to see that they're showing some of it to those who didn't know about it. It's a really wonderful book covering everything that has ever been, to do with the PNE Fair and/or Playland. https://www.pne.ca/about-us/100-years-fun/ Love this one. A coaster I never got to ride.... Dip The Dips (I swear that's what it's name was!) Interestingly, I do remember riding the classic Shoot-The-Chutes boat ride there in front of DtD. Our current Coaster opened in 1958, making me only 5 years old at that time, lol. Ah well. That first coaster looked awesome! -
^ I have actually found, through all the countries I have toured through, that Sunday morning arrival guarantees a pretty perfect start to any day at any park, world wide. Religion has it's benefits for some park fans. Monday mornings are some times also good, if the park opens that day, too. Locals back to work, so not as busy that opening morning, I'd like to think.

New overhead shot of Fantasy Springs construction posted. Thanks to @KabaPark_RC for posting the shot. Frozen attraction in the near-top right corner; top middle, ToonTown; below it, Arendelle Castle/restaurant, Tangled attraction to it's right. Closer to bottom, left/Tinkerbell ride-Lost Boys Snacks, right/PeterPan attraction; middle of two roadways to be concealed with Cave/Fountains entrance. And the new Fantasy Springs Hotel to the near-bottom left corner of it all. Hope that wasn't too confusing with how I described things. -

Sad news to report.... Christopher Plummer has passed away at the age of 91. He is known for a lot of his stage work in Canada, as well as several films, over several decades. He won the Oscar for Supporting Actor, playing a father dying of cancer, coming out to his son. Much deserved. BUT - he also had won the 1973 TONY... for Best Actor... in a Musical. TRUTH! He played Cyrano in the musical, "Cyrano." I have copies of the show, both in CD and Original Cast LP. An actually great show to listen to, and he's no slouch, bless him! He was a true Canadian Icon, and an amazing Acting Legend. Early stage work - Othello. What he won his Best Lead Actor-Musical TONY for, in 1973.
