Photo TR: Busch Gardens Europe...or....

Whoa whoa, adding more photos to your own TR, especially those of Chuck, is contributing, not bumping! What I just did was bumping. -
Largest Re-located Coaster??
RIP Psyclone replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's why they renamed it Goliath. -
Revolution: once a great coaster, now trimmed to hell and seats are over restrained. OTSRs are not necessary! Colossus: once a great coaster, but still pretty good. The "roughness" feels appropriate for a coaster of its age, and not to the point where it becomes no longer fun, like GhostRider or the former Psyclone. X: You'll love it or you'll hate it, pretty much. Tatsu: fun but not too thrilling...until the pretzel loop, that is.

I had to check for myself what that costs in US $. $7.17, not as bad as I thought! -

Hey Bill, so you visited Fuji-Q in '72? How about a retro TR? Got photos from that trip? heh -
Favorite Arrow Coaster
RIP Psyclone replied to CdnbMatt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's just that it's no longer new. When it was, Viper was very popular, talked about, and even advertised heavily. I believe one of it's slogan's was "the most frightening roller coaster on earth" with elements such as "the unholy triple loop." -
Favorite Arrow Coaster
RIP Psyclone replied to CdnbMatt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm with the fanman, it's really hard to choose a favorite out of so many greats. (Taken from an American Psycho Patrick Bateman quote, I believe.) We don't really need to stop at roller coasters, though. Arrow pioneered many other kinds of rides, including the OmniMover dark ride system, first used on Adventure Thru Inner Space (see my avatar), and is still used on the Haunted Mansion. -
Robb's Eejanaika video (see pg. 45) may even top the old Manhattan Express vid! (Which seems to be down.) Robb was hoping for the best on Eejanaika, and at the beginning of the drop he seemed to still be optimistic. Then came the first flip, and it all went to hell seemingly after that. It's been said before, but doesn't the "full-full" element seem a little pointless if it doesn't invert you even once? You just seem to "wobble," turn around, and back again.

Wild West World is now closed
RIP Psyclone replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You know, this is kind of a sad and discouraging story. This park was someone's dream, and unfortunately it didn't work out. But people should never give up. The man who envisioned Tokyo Disneyland had to deal with a very unfriendly and unreceptive Walt Disney, because Disney was furious over Nara Dreamland. However, he didn't give up, and about 20 years later TDL finally opened. -
TPR Theme Park

Damn, Barry beat me to the idea of a Fuji-Q themed area. Well, also Deja Vu, with a 2 train operation. -

Chuck is like the new Big Mike. Every TR needs him in it. -
Six Flags America Accident
RIP Psyclone replied to piggy4891's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I loved the highlighting of text on the computer screen. Was that the best they could do for a visual? Also, did the train release due to a malfunction? Isn't that what it's supposed to do? -
Well, hopefully with this park that classic line from Airplane II, "Fresno? Nobody goes to Fresno anymore!" will no longer be true.

Really cool intamin drop tower

Imagine an Intamin 1st gen freefall, but twice as high. That would be amazing. -

LOL @ the Danger Zone pic. Someone find a similar sign on a Top Gun ride. -

Most thrilling drop?
RIP Psyclone replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I guess roller coasters are like hard drugs... you first few times you really get a thrill, but after that you feel nothing and have to keep doing them just to feel normal. -
What Onride Pictures Do You Have?
RIP Psyclone replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a Viper (SFMM) picture from about 1992 somewhere, I wish I could find it. I also purchased a GhostRider pic, from around...oh, maybe 2000. Also lost. I especially like the Viper pic because it was from a time when brightly colored pullover windbreakers were in fashion. That, and those color changing t-shirts! -
Ah, Windjammer. I don't think I ever rode it, so it will always be a missed credit (actually 2). It was closed every time (might have even been only one visit) I went to Knott's while it was standing. In retrospect, it would have been better to let the less thrilling but more fun Wacky Soap Box Racers have a few more years before Xcelerator. The way they shoehorn in new coasters there now, they probably didn't even have to remove it.

If anyone has seen the Lance Burton stunt of him being chained to the track of Desperado at Buffalo Bill's and escaping just in time, apparently that had been done already...with Moonsault Scramble. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE3Bs7eeUF8
