  1. As seen in the SFMM Photo TR, Psyclone has been replaced by Scream! as one of the greatest coasters ever built.
  2. They're already on day 2 of Disney, wow. How time flies when you're having fun seeing other people have more fun. If you're on the trip, what did you think of Eejanaika?
  3. Yes, X is a "dynamic" experience. Tatsu isn't, though.
  4. Impossible for any other version to be better than the original. I read that's because the average DL guest will visit the park many, many times throughout their lifetime and knows the Haunted Mansion well, so a modification is a bonus for them (us). The average Magic Kingdom guest may only visit the park once during their lifetime so if they ride the HM only once it should be the original version and not have a seasonal overlay.
  5. Wow, a big TPR Midwest trip sandwich between two slices of bonus US and UK parks. Order me one of those! I need the credits! This has been the best "pure" TR, so thanks for that, Divv.
  6. Why do I keep seeing the same guy over and over? Weren't there 99 other people on the trip! Why didn't you move the camera around? Great TR, Terry! Can't wait for the finale.
  7. Impossible. DL's Mansion is closed right now, but I think it's due to the installation of Haunted Mansion Holiday.
  8. In my experience, a curved drop is less thrilling than a straight one. If the curved drops instead did a 90 degree turn after the pre drop, then a straight drop, it probably wouldn't take up that much more space. Many coasters have that design.
  9. How about non smoker who isn't an elitist about it and will light up now and then?
  10. I had a dream I was at SFGAdv. The rides were different, and completely tucked away, off the main walkways.
  11. Good to know that they're enforcing. Even smokers prefer smokefree!
  12. Now, if only 1 train operations wasn't the norm at SFMM.
  13. As long as ACErs don't have any input on the ride, I trust HW's judgement.
  14. You can be rude to me any time you like, Wes.
  15. Two words: Dinn Corporation You bring up a good point, I wish SFMM would construct a clone of SFGAm's Viper on the same spot as Psyclone and call it Psyclone...and act like nothing ever happened. Maybe even use the same B&M trains, but I hear they were in part due to the demise.
  16. Is a trip to Russia worth it strictly for coasters/amusement parks? No. Will TPR ever do a trip there? When pigs fly.
  17. Some people may say that the single best coaster in the greater L.A. area is Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm. If you are one of those people, show yourself! The park with the best collection of coasters is SF Magic Mountain. There is no question. Xcelerator is much like Stealth at Thorpe, but X at Magic Mountain has only one other coaster like it, and it's in Japan. Also, Tatsu, the world's best flying coaster!
  18. Okay...might have been too obscure, but Kobe's nickname is Black Mamba.
  19. Jiggity Erik Johnson thought it would be good if you finished this TR by using other peoples' pics and your own drawings. There will be more of your own pics, though, as I understand it.
  20. Ah yes, Jupiter, O.G. Intamin wood! Better than Balder? Oh wait: Designer: Curtis D. Summers I think not!
  21. Has there been a death or injury to a rider there? Seems that employee poor judgement is the sole cause here.
  22. Yes, feel free to take a guess as to the last one as well.
  23. Yes, the "drop" towers have the appeal of not knowing the exact time the descent will occur, but "shot" towers have the advantage of floater air time at the top.
  24. ^Just one, the Giant Dipper, a classic woodie built in 1925. It's not worth a trip to San Diego by itself, but if you're already there and can spare an hour you might as well. As for Sea World and Universal Studios, I agree. The only thing that sets USH apart is that it is the original, and a real working studio, so the Studio Tour is more authentic. Other than that, yeah, it's hardly worth a trip. Also, it's not much but there's also Adventure City in Anaheim, just south of Knott's on Beach Blvd. A couple of credits to be had there.
  25. Having been on a few floorless coasters, I just realized I feel the design is little more than a gimmick, IMO. It was giving my review of Tivoli Garden's Daemonen in the Ask Alvey forum when I realized I felt this way. When riding coasters, I'm usually not looking down at my feet and forget it's a floorless anyway. However, I do think that flying and stand-up coasters are unique experiences and are not gimmicks. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to stand-ups. Few people on here seem to like them. What do you think?
