  1. ^, ^^, ^^^ Balder vs El Toro is serious business! Well, I guess emoboy won the debate in the end. "Look at it!" was hard to dispute. Maybe it was also the reminder of El Toro in Spain.
  2. I don't hate ferris wheels, it's just the constant loading/unloading that makes them a little intolerable, IMO. As for the ferris wheel lift, I think it's a gimmick that will get old and impractical fast.
  3. Virtual jumprope, I never knew what those things were until now. Kangaroo bouncy bouncy makes sense...but lantern bouncy bouncy? WTF?
  4. ^Okay, but did you expect the 4 of you to be seated in the front row with the other 4 rows empty?
  5. Hey Robb, I found this in another thread: For another point of reference, any idea how much you weighed then? Keep up the good work, Robb! I weigh around the same as you and could stand to lose a few myself.
  6. ^^Sorry, but there's nothing funny about that. It sucks that some people enjoy making cast members (and other amusement park employees) miserable. Also, if you thought the 4 of you could sit in the front row leaving the other 4 rows empty, well, that doesn't make any sense at all. And this cast member weighed 800 pounds? I highly doubt that.
  7. I found this on Busch Gardens: Porn Valley www.placesearth.com/usa/california/los_angeles/busch_gardens_vn/buschg1.shtml
  8. Never been on either Whizzer? That counts as a Jumbo Jet, in a JJ sort of way!
  9. ^Ooh, you made a fatal mistake there. Hangman was made by Vekoma, not B&M. This thread is limited to B&M.
  10. I'd like to apologize for that post. R & E, you guys are the best for what you bring to the world. As I said before, I can only hope one day I'll be able to be a part of such a VIP meet.
  11. This was a great update, don't get me wrong. One small point: I think the average TPR reader would be more impressed by updates of a TPR trip anyone could have been a part of than a VIP TPR trip. This whole update has a "haha, we were there, you didn't even know we were going" sort of vibe. P.S. I know the annual TPR FL isn't exactly a secret, but the guest list seems a little, you know.
  12. ^In the mind of a drug addict, drugs always win when it comes to finding ways to spend money. Come on, Jimmy! You're a CA boy like myself.
  13. Although they have been a few good movies about Thanksgiving, I believe it's not as much of a "season." You really don't start thinking about Thanksgiving until the day before, maybe. Christmas you look forward to for some time (unless you hate your family.)
  14. Okay, I admit I myself have been to AZ on vacation (Summer '89). It's just that other than the exceptions like my family, families with kids generally don't go there. Like it's been said, it's generally older married couples who want a spa experience. Or people who do meth. The only real places to go are CA & FL.
  15. I was in a Blockbuster tonight, and a commercial played for Christmas at SFDK, emphasizing the tree. It's possible Blockbuster is playing that at all of its CA locations, but has anyone else seen this?
  16. The biggest issue here is that NO ONE goes to AZ on vacation.
  17. ^^ SFGAdv I think some east coasters may disagree, but I think dry and hot is much more tolerable than humid and hot.
  18. I also thought it looked like Viper. But now I realize that's only because they used CSI to make it look bigger, the track is red, and Vekoma used to steal Arrow's designs.
  19. ^^So are you saying they were thinking 456 feet or 139 meters? Maybe neither, if you count the "levels" of the tower, Kingda Ka has one more.
  20. In defense of JJ, I probably would count Wacky Soap Box Racers as 4 credits (I never rode the Motorcycle Chase). I know I rode it several times, but I can't be sure if I rode all 4 tracks, so I just count it as 1 credit.
  21. Initials BB! It was a song by Serge Gainsbourg, but it was about Brigitte Bardot.
  22. Yes, it's all about fun, but seeking out every single kiddie coaster in a pizza place is a little much, IMO. If you were gonna go there anyway, that's one thing, but an adult on a kiddie coaster can look a little silly. I still don't have the Canyon Blaster credit at SFMM for that reason. Also, it seems like driving 60 miles or so for a small (not necessarily a kiddie) coaster is a little bit much. For that reason I don't have any of the minor So Cal credits. Derek is right, though, the more credits you have the more credible you are when it comes to discussing coasters. However, if half of those are kiddies... It just all comes down to personal preference.
