  1. Well, yeah, apply that to Kennywood and it holds true. The sale is estimated at $200 million, and that's probably enough to live well for a while. The family and current management isn't necessarily being cut out altogether, though, from what we know, and I hope that won't happen. Kind of like a Tom from Myspace situation.
  2. That's a good point, and I'm glad "she" brought it up. The other kids would have no idea your family was planning a trip to WDW unless your son was talking about it.
  3. ^Exactly, me too, and I live relatively close. I heard in a TR, I think it was JimmyBo's, that they are selective in admittance. They don't really want to admit individuals and non-family groups. If so, f*** that!
  4. So those coasters were really Giovanola and not Intamin. I can dig that. I knew that from RCDB pretty much, but not every detail I guess. Anyway, it appears that that is the type of track that B & M use, both the company and the men themselves when they are working for another. I think that is it, pretty much. ^I personally thought Flashback was a fun lil ride. This is the element they call a "Jr. Immelmann" on Black Mamba: So, despite that it's a standard track and not inverted, each of the 6 elements on Flashback could best be described as "Jr. Dive Loop."
  5. Nice TR & photos, Tom.
  6. Although the track is of the 80's Intamin type that was carried over to B&M.
  7. I don't think we'll be seeing "Parque de Atracciones de Madera de Kenny" just yet.
  8. A goose was removed from the quartet for the last 2 or so years of operation of America Sings, and was never replaced. Only 3 geese can clearly been seen from about 2:00 to 2:25 All 4 geese
  9. Wow, how long were America Sings and Mission To Mars sitting there closed, but intact? I know Inner Space was pretty much gutted right away. I'm still looking for remnants of it in Star Tours, but there are very few, if any.
  10. His finger is not on the button in the picture, nor do we see a stream of Beverly, or any in the cup. I call shananigans!
  11. I never knew until now that the Luxor boat ride was an Arrow creation. I'm glad I got to ride it in its first year. The 90's era Vegas has become a unique time in Vegas history, situated between old school Vegas and the new party scene/Lindsay Lohan/doing coke in the club restroom Vegas. Can't wait for Colossus!
  12. They've been supposed to do that at DCA for 2 years now. More drops would be good, but it does mean a longer line.
  13. The Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, operating continuously since 5/17/1924! My #2 isn't much newer, California's other Giant Dipper, at Belmont Park in San Diego, operating since 7/4/1925 with a lengthy SBNO period. EDIT: ^^GASM? Are you kidding? That's not even the oldest in the park.
  14. ^I'm glad! I trust that they didn't make the drops "weaker" as they did at TDS.
  15. Disney California Adventure's tower is far from being bad, it just is missing a few things that WDW's has. WDW has the "5th dimension" part where the elevator travels forward down a corridor. Due to reliability issues, that has never been duplicated on another Tower, even the high budget Tokyo DisneySea version. WDW's also has a better drop sequence, with more drops. So, hopefully Paris' Tower is at least as good as DCA's. We're not yet sure if the drop sequence is the same.
  16. ^I like the red octopus one myself. This time, though, it's funny with Wes actually writing the Gary Sinise pillowtalk himself.
  17. Ah yes, Flight Trainer. I do admit I miss XK-1 a little. That pinball ride would have been crazy!
  18. I think to make a proper Vaultarita you must bring a bottle of tequila to Target, but still Wes came up with a great idea. How about Vaultaritas at the next TPR party?
  19. Just got one of these last night and finished it off this morning, after my morning coffee. 5 liters or 1.33 gallons of nice, cold Heineken!
  20. Getting closer to a million!
  21. There is some truth to what had been said about B&M's inverts rendering Arrow's pipeline coaster obsolete. Apparently, a pipeline was to have been installed at Alton Towers, but AT's John Wardley rode it in Utah and found it too tame. He then became aware of Batman: The Ride at SFGAm, and decided on a B&M invert, resulting in Nemesis.
  22. Shane even pulled something on M.S. out of his attic...wow. I'm speechless. Shane, what DON'T you have, haha.
  23. Imagine facing downward when the chain catches the car on the second spike. OUCH! You'll be slammed forward into the restraint. There was no chain on the second spike...probably could have improved the ride, though...and made it an even longer wait.
  24. I found this video that I hadn't seen before... www.asovini.com/screamer/mov/moonsault.mov Hope that's okay!
  25. There are people who simply copy and paste links, text, and photos from other sites, and there are those who share their own rare stuff. They are who make TPR great! Keep it up, Shane!
