  1. I found a new favorite, 29 year old Robb Alvey as "Drag Queen Amidala" "I was not elected to watch my people suffer and die while you discuss this invasion in a com-mit-tee!"
  2. I miss the trip I wasn't on. Midwest definately was a close 2nd to Japan.
  3. Flashback was sort of shoehorned in, so it wouldn't surprise me if they let that spot go to waste. Now there are two places where something needs to be built. I don't think the area where Freefall is located could fit a new Intamin or S&S drop tower. The former Sarajevo Bobsleds/Shockwave/Psyclone & current Deja Vu spot is in the deadest area of the park. It's like a wing of a mall where all the shops have closed. However, I wouldn't mind to see Deja Vu go as well if they put a kick-a$$ coaster there. It would end the "curse" of that spot!
  4. ^^Well said. The fact of the matter here is that we're all saying what we'd do or what should have been done from an armchair. You don't really know until you're there. However, all I meant was that it was probably a hard decision for the teacher, but I think she made the right choice.
  5. As much as we'd like to see that guy go to jail, and Jamie-Lynn punished somehow, it's looking like it's not going to happen. It turns out he's 18 and not 19. The press probably just fudged that a little to create controversy. He was born April 29th, 1989, Jamie-Lynn April 4th, 1991, putting him at just under 2 years older making it legal in the state of LA.
  6. Okay, let's put this to rest. It is GO FOR A RIDE! (©1988 ) FEATURING: COLOSSUS VORTEX SHOCKWAVE XLR-8 TEXAS CYCLONE RACER BIG BAD WOLF LOCH NESS MONSTER TWISTER REVOLUTION AND MORE! I distinctly remember the line (describing XLR-8 ) "50 feet per second! That feels like flying to me!" This is it, accept no substitions...
  7. ^Do libraries in Canaba not rent movies? Mine does! Maybe it's like how in Canada grocery stores, gas stations and drug stores don't sell beer and liquor.
  8. I'm guessing the mother most likely packed the knife. How many kids pack their own lunch? All I meant was that not every infraction needs to be dealt with sticking to the book, fullest extent of the law, etc. If your friend was drunk in public making a scene you would give him a ride home, not call the cops on him. In this case, I think the teacher acted appropriately.
  9. The video I was talking about was definately "Go For A Ride." I checked "Here Comes A Rollercoaster" and that's a different one. It has a copyright date of 1994 and the one I mentioned was definately late 80s. This has been amusing, though, it reminded me of the discussion of the mystery song in X's queue. "Oh, it's definately 'Los Angeles' by the band coincidentally named 'X'"..."I think it was the Macarena"...
  10. ^Funny you should mention such a video. I remember a video from the late 80s I think that started off with a kid bummed he was too short to ride Colossus. Then a kindly janitor started talking to him about roller coasters all around the country, like Big Bad Wolf.
  11. ^They made it clear the egg nog used in the Jackass stunt had no added alcohol. Egg nog is more like heavy whipping cream, and of course that would make you puke a lot faster than milk. Now how about the Photo TR of getting Vault icees?
  12. Oh yes! I do remember the covered queue now. I rode it right after it opened in '92 as well. I remember coke machines along one side, yes? I seem to remember lockers as well but I guess those came later, like you said.
  13. ^Taking the Monorail back to your room at the Contemporary while your family was still in the park?
  14. Back when it was still intact: I see you, hiding Metro trains! (And you Flashback train in the shed!) What's that next to the shed behind Flashback?
  15. The best offer they got for Flashback was probably from a scrap metal company. Same with Freefall, as fun as 1st gen Intamins used to be (before they got rough as hell) an amusement park would be a lot better off installing a drop tower from S&S. They're smooth, and the riders' feet are safe.
  16. ^You know, you're right. I never thought about it that way before, but it is sort of an action movie for the older crowd.
  17. There are times when you need to make a big scene, and times when you should just discreetly put the offending object under the proverbial rug and hope no one notices. This one was a tough call.
  18. Video now posted. All 3 new monorail trains by next summer? Really?!
  19. The real test here is how well the sequel performs. The first film, although successful, was not quite the mega blockbuster that should be required to be the basis of a ride. It didn't even break $200 million domestically. So...how well will the sequel do? I have felt just about zero buzz for this film. And what are the critics saying? Over on rottentomatoes.com it has a 31% rating, which is "rotten." 69% of critics did not like it. The ones who did didn't give it glowing reviews, either. Looks like Mr. Cage is going to have to go hide in embarrassment, and pretend he never put forth the proposition in the first place.
  20. To Larry: The Black Hole & Tron Okay, Toy Story, definately. I'd say POTC but you're probably going to argue that it's not 100% family friendly. You do have a point about High School Musical, I just think it's un-Disney that older viewers, like myself, would rather watch paint dry. Even the very subject of high school does alienate some people. To Wes: Yet, I don't. Go figure! Just like you don't like CSI: NY.
  21. Because Disney has always been about producing stuff the whole family can enjoy.
  22. Like Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom said: "Maybe he like...older women."
  23. I don't know about that, I think he's a WDW snob.
