What movies are YOU looking forward to in 2008?
RIP Psyclone replied to Broadwayboy2007's topic in Random, Random, Random
The Dark Knight Bond 22 Indiana Jones 4 (I guess) -

Then I wish she liked Adventure Thru Inner Space! -
Not at all surprised you didn't care for GhostRider. I consider it to be rough and unbearable. Colossus on the other hand I think is rough, but bearable...just be glad you missed Psyclone!

Wow, that sure brings back memories. Although Harcourt Brace Jovanovich was villified a little for closing Marineland, it had to happen eventually. Those facilities and infrastructure look horribly dated by today's standards. -
Top ten movies of 2007
RIP Psyclone replied to Leaping La Ronde Boobis's topic in Random, Random, Random
Best overall: Zodiac Best action: Bourne Ultimatum I didn't see too many movies in 2007, so I'm not really qualified...but if you haven't seen Zodiac, give it a shot! -

^Just think, if it wasn't for BTTF the first thing people would think of when they saw a Delorean would be cocaine. -

It's just a shame X2 won't be ready by then. I still definately want to go, though. -
Has anyone ridden both X and Eejanaika?
RIP Psyclone replied to ebl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
X and Eejanaika are much more alike than different, but here are all the differences that I have observed: During the turn to the lift hill, Eejanaika does a near half back flip of the seats, X does not. During the 1st raven turn after the first drop, X does a half rotation of the seats to basically keep riders upright. Eejanaika does that, but then does a full back flip of the seats. Contrary to popular belief, the "full/full" on Eejanaika does not replace a "half/half" on X. The corresponding part on X is a full flip of the seats while the track does not invert at all. During the brake run, Eejanaika rotates riders forward slightly so they are facing down, X does not. Other than the differences mentioned above and slight dimensional and directional variations (X turns left out of the station, Eejanaika turns right), the layouts are pretty much the same. -

^I know stand up trains were put on an Arrow corkscrew, but were removed after one season. Beyond that, I don't think Arrow ever made a stand up coaster. -
Shane's Amusement Attic

Ah, Marineland. It was in my town. I remember visiting it as a kid. The skytower (an Intamin, maybe?) stood for many years after the park closed. And Battlestar Galactica! I remember thinking it was the coolest thing I had ever seen as a 6 year old. -
PTR: Hector went to Las Vegas AGAIN!
RIP Psyclone replied to RCFreak's topic in Random, Random, Random
Nice, Hector! The company I used to work for designed The Venetian along with The Palazzo, but Palazzo was not built right after and I guess they went with other architects. And LOL @ the Sirens being in "rehab"! -

Shane's Amusement Attic
RIP Psyclone replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ron Toomer is retired, I'm sure. He's 78 years old this year. He hasn't designed a coaster in some time. I don't think he even had anything to do with X. -

Loving the Arrow stuff, Shane. I always wondered why Arrow relocated to Utah, but I guess it was to consolidate with their steel fabrication. Nice seeing something about Busch Gardens in Van Nuys, too. Oh, is that Ron Toomer in one of the pics? Excellent work. -

I believe the Italian restaurant is Buca Di Beppo. I love that place. Without Carrabba's in CA, it'll have to do. Glad you got the Santa Monica coaster credit, that's one I still lack.
