  1. I ran a 5K race today around downtown Indy and it felt good. I'm horrible at running but I achieved my goal of finishing in under half an hour. I don't really run much because it is quite painful (I have permanent back pain from a car accident I was in) so I was pretty happy with that. It was a lot of fun.
  2. I personally love twisted, wacky inversions. Loops are fun and all, but I really like the non-traditional things. That's what I love about the Premier Rides Lim Bowls and what appeals me about Hydra. I really like the serpentine-like elements.
  3. It's a shame more people haven't experienced the Gerstlauer spinning coasters. I rode Timberland Twister at MoA last summer and was really impressed. It doesn't look like much but it is a lot of fun. It's a gem of a coaster if you ask me.
  4. OCT Beijing (working name) is building a B&M Flyer according to rcdb.com. There are even pictures showing off the track here: http://rcdb.com/ig3141.htm What else is known about this flyer?
  5. "Sunday Afternoon" by Lucky Boys Confusion
  6. Great video Robb. I definately loved the "before you give us crap for that" at the end. That was too good.
  7. Yeah, my sophomore year of high school, I lost 55 lbs in 9 months. In January of 2002, I weighed 193 lbs. In October of 2002, I weighed 138. I just ate healthier, ate a little less, and excercised more. Nothing drastic. I need to start excercising more though. I don't do it enough. I was on the IU swim club for a while but I got behind in my school work so I had to pass it up. On Saturday, I'll be running a 5K race in Indy though so that'll be nice.
  8. I must say, being an enthusiast, I would have liked to have seen a coaster installed, but I really think this is a great and probably smarter addition. It definately makes me want to go more. I'm starting to refind my waterpark side. I'm hoping that, aside from increased attendance, that the water park will help distribute the guests throughout the park. The last three times I've been to the park (all on weekdays) the park has been quite crowded. Still a great park though. My favorite in the Six Flags chain.
  9. Nothing. But I would probably pay a few bucks for a Klondike Bar . Yeah I know, I'm a jerk. What if the hokey pokey really was what it's all about? (yes, that's a shirt)
  10. 1. Mr. Freeze- Top hat 2. B&M inverts- Zero-g roll 3. SUFs- Pretzel Loop
  11. ^Never realized Bobby McFerrin went number one. That is hilarious. US: "Shout"- Tears for Fears UK: "Into the Groove"- Madonna
  12. I know this is irrelevant, but I was just curious why you don't ever want to go to PKI?
  13. This is no longer true. The property was bought by a private owner and is being developed into a nature preserve. Last I heard (from a friend of the new owner), all the remaining rides have been removed or scrapped. The ride pieces used to be visible from the Interstate, but the last several times I've driven by, I've seen nothing. Does anybody have any other information on this?
  14. With how big the record has become, I wouldn't really want to try and break it, but I don't necessarily think its overkill. It's whatever you crave or feel like. If you have it in you to ride a coaster nonstop for 4 months, go for it. I agree with SuperCrack in that it might be fun to do one of the smaller marathons. However, I also agree with Elissa on this one. I like to reride coasters, but after a little while, I'm done.
  15. Yeah, seriously... What is with all the junk in the trunk? Why not put an extra row of people in. Whatever. But yeah, I would have to say those trains aren't the most attractive looking things in that picture. I didn't think they looked bad on the media video that Six Flags has been playing on the website for so long.
  16. I don't know how much you've done things by yourself before, but its not always the most fun thing. Plus, if you could find even one person to go with you on a big trip and split the costs, you would be able to do sooo much more. Just think, if you have a total hotel bill of $300-400, that becomes $150-200. If you drive, $200 in gas becomes $100, etc. If you really want to go by yourself though, you could go just about anywhere you want with $8000 (are planning on spending all of that?). Anyway, I would suggest a tour of Ohio, Texas, Florida, California, or the East Coast (maybe like Dorney, Hershey, SFGAdv, etc).
  17. I've been lucky enough to never get a ticket though I've been pulled over my fair share of times: 50 in a 40- written warning 70 in a 55- breathalized and then given a verbal warning (it was New Year's Eve) 72 in a 65 and erratic (one of those words) driving- My rear axle was broken and I didn't know it so I was having a hard time not touching the white line so a motorist called me in. I got a written warning. 38 in a 30- seriously? written warning. I used to be a bit of a leadfoot. However, about two years ago, I was going 75 mph in a 40 and I had a severe accident. I lost control, flew off the road, hit a ditch, and flipped my car four times. Ever since then, I've toned down a little bit (I don't really go much more than 8 mph over the speed limit unless I'm on a major highway or interstate).
  18. Depends. If you save your pictures as jpg images or something, load the image in paint. Then you can click "image" and then "stretch and skew" and resize it to smaller dimensions (make sure the two numbers are the same otherwise the pic will be distorted). After that, save it and click on the file in your folder to see how big the new image is. It sounds complicated but its not. I'm no computer wiz though so this might sound dumb or crazy. If you want to do it more professionally so that the image is exactly 800x600, you'll probably need to have some sort of photo program.
  19. I don't really have the time or money (parking and gas takes its toll over time) to visit a park that much. Plus, I would probably just save the money that I was spending on going to the same park all the time so that I could go to a new park far away. That's cool that you guys have gotten to know a lot of people benefited from it.
  20. I miss it. I really had a good time when I went to that park. That was the site of my roller coastering break through. I finally ventured on to my first looping coaster there (Hangman). I'm not sure how much of a bad business decision it was though. I'm sure they are bringing in some nice cash with that mall (which is pretty cool if I may say), but I'm an enthusiast, so of course I wish the park was still there. I found it interesting when I was there in March 2004, the trench for the rapids ride could still be seen.
  21. Legend- back seat. That drop is just insane. One of two first drops that still puts butterflies in my stomach (the other being Vortex) Phantom's Revenge- That second drop is just amazing, but the first drop doesn't receive enoughc credit. Dominator- First drop, back seat, either of the far ends. Just try it. Top Thrill Dragster- Do I really need to explain this? Millennium Force- ^ Jack Rabbit- The double-down Vortex at PKI- back seat. Once again, you just have to experience it. The airtime is insane.
  22. I really think this is a great idea you guys are playing with. I'm lookin' forward to what develops. I'm not really sure how realistic my international figure is. It might be a bit low though it said not to include airfare or food or anything of that nature. I travel as cheap as possible so that's why my figures might be a little off.
  23. No, there's a turnaround and then you go up the lift hill. Anyway, This is an easy question to me...Legend. Ride the thing in the back seat. It is one of the few drops that still makes my stomach cringe. Simply awesome.
  24. Stand-up Iron Wolf- D (A+ before it become so rough) Mantis- B Chang- B+ Georgia Scorcher- B Inverted Batmans- A Raptor- A+ Alpengeist- A- Mega Coasters Apollo's Chariot- A- Raging Bull- A+ Floorless Coasters Dominator- A- Flying Coasters Superman: Ultimate Flights- B
  25. Kennywood: Phantom's Revenge: A+; Tied for my all-time favorite coaster. You have to experience it to understand Thunderbolt: B-/C+; Ridiculously overrated Racer: B-; It's a fun, sort of relaxing coaster with surprise drop at the end Jack Rabbit: B+; I love the lack of real restraints and the double-down Exterminator: A-; Reverchon/Zamperla spinning coasters are fun enough, but this one is themed and in the dark.
