Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Scaparri replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, that second half of the ride seems pretty friggin' sweet. I'm really looking forward to this thing. I think it knocks out Mystery Mine for my most anticipated coaster. It's really nice to see CP moiving away from the record-breakers and more towards a quality ride with theming. I really hope this becomes a trend in the future. -
I have so much homework at my new school. I kind of expected it, but wow. I definately have my work cut out for me. I've spent about 3 hours trying to figure out how to do a project on a cad-type program. Finally got it. It's so frustrating. I know I probably could have been more prepared, but it's hard with so much work to do. I really don't feel like I have much free time. Plus I need to get a job 'cause I'm poor, but if I get a job, then all my free time will be gone and nobody can do that to themselves. That causes insanity. Ahhh!!! So much homework, so little time, so little money! Guess I need to just suck it up and deal.

Pleasureland Southport to Close FOREVER!
Scaparri replied to ColinM's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's a bit disappointing. I was hoping to visit next summer. Oh well. Hopefully most of the rides find better homes seeing how a lot of people have been mentioning that the park wasn't in great condition. -
What are your TOP TEN COASTERS
Scaparri replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't combine steel and wood, so I have two seperate lists: Steel: 1. Phantom's Revenge 2. Kraken 3. Raptor 4. Goliath (SFOG) 5. Dueling Dragons 6. Montu 7. Millennium Force 8. Sheikra 9. Raging Bull 10. Apollo's Chariot Wood: 1. Thunderhead 2. Avalanche 3. Hades 4. Shivering Timbers 5. Legend 6. Texas Giant 7. Villain 8. Gwazi 9. Cyclops 10. Cornball Express Each coaster is +/- a position. It's just too hard to really compare them all anymore. -
Wanna buy a piece of hades?
Scaparri replied to Waterpark101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, it's actually Duane Marden of rcdb that's selling them. -
Well, I went to the Indianapolis Colts game tonight with my girlfriend (hooray for free tickets), I'm going to the Mac Tools US Nationals tomorrow with my bro and some friends (hooray for free tickets), and Sunday I'm probably going downtown to Rib Fest where they are having free concerts. Monday, I might go back down again. Who knows. It should be fun.

Thunder Eagle will not be rebuilt!
Scaparri replied to Absimilliard's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Since so much time had passed since it was removed, I had a feeling that it was probably never going to be rebuilt. -
Does anyone else prefer forceless rides?
Scaparri replied to Jumboshrmp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't like a ridonculous amount of positive g's in a loop, but I like a ride that is extremely forceful. I love rides in which I feel like I just got my butt whooped on. I don't mean rough, but just something that really gives my body a test. Raptor is a really good example. It performs it's turns and inversions with scary speed and force. Pretty much, I love it when I feel like I'm about to do something at a speed that is WAY too fast, which usually results in a lot of force. On the other hand, I love it when a coaster maneuvers an inversion with such little speed that you get that big airtime. My number one case example would be the Mr. Freezes. I'm sure you get it anywhere, but I've only ridden them in the front since they installed the lap bars. As the train comes through the top hat on the return trip, you get a nice bit of hangtime, and then even fall down so you are hanging in by the lap bar. It's such a rush to be 150ft above the ground hanging upside-down by a lap bar amidst that tower of steel. I guess I go either way, but generally like something with a lot of force. -
1. I've been an official student at 7 universities but only attended two of them. 2. In most cases, I'd rather drive than fly. I'm not afraid of flying, I just like seeing everything on the way. 3. I pretty much always prefer college sports to pro because money isn't involved. 4. I'm lactose intolerant. 5. I've never had Spaghetti-o's

Personally, I'm a fan of the Butter Battle Book.

My apartment is freakin' sweet, it's nice to finally be within half a mile of my girl, and classes start tomorrow! I've never been excited for school before.
-
I like 'em natural as well. It's too obvious when they are fake. Plus, as pkdcoaster already said, it really shows that the girl cares WAY too much about how she looks. High maintenance alert. I'm not really into big breasts anyway. Proportion is nice.

How do You Judge a Park as Best Theme Park?
Scaparri replied to Adriel's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me, it's rides, theming, appearance, and uniqueness or novelty. A park doesn't have to have all of those qualities to be one of my favorites though. For instance, one of my favorite parks is Lake Winnie. The coaster selection isn't anything too special and the theming is non existant, but they do have a nice little collection of rides overall, and the park is very unique. Very friendly staff, awesome setting, just a really fun park. -

Is It Really Worth It?
Scaparri replied to Adriel's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It doesn't have to be the biggest and best. It's an accomplishment to most people. To say you've been on the tallest and fastest coaster in the world is something to brag about for most people. And for a lot of them, going that fast or going that tall might be what thrills them the most, therefore, they get a huge rush from it and it becomes their favorite. -
I'm moved into my apartment at Butler now and got my internet to finally work!

I've had this craving to go back to Lake Winnie all summer.

What Is People's Favourite Horror Film?
Scaparri replied to Rockinryan30's topic in Random, Random, Random
Blair Witch Project. Or would you classify that as more of a suspense? Idk, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the new one) is pretty good. -
I'm really not a fan of sequels. Especially when they either A) don't have the original cast, or B) are horror movies.
-
It depends. I'd drive just about anywhere for a good multi-park trip. If it's just for one park, probably a lot less. The farthest I've driven for one park (not doing anything else on the trip) was from Bloomington, IN to Six Flags Over Georgia. About an 8 hour drive. The farthest I've driven period for a park was from Sandusky, OH to Six Flags Over Texas. However, the main reason I went there was for an Indycar race. Without the race, I wouldn't have driven down there.
