Can I press charges against Butler University? Because I definitely got raped by the bookstore yesterday. I paid about $600 in books at the beginning of the semester and only got $80 when I sold them back.

Favorites: Fatboy Slim- Weapon of Choice; Come on! It's Christopher Walken dancing around... it's hilarious. Michael Jackson- Thriller; obvious Red Hot Chili Peppers- Dani California; they did an awesome job of mimicking a lot of really great artists. Korn- Freak on a Leash; pretty sweet effects Worst: Anything by James Blunt; If you've seen one of his videos then this doesn't need an explanation.

I'm not surprised by this in the least. Taco Bell landed me in the hospital a few years ago for a bad case of food poisoning. I still eat it though. -

Lagoon Discussion Thread

Speaking of which, does anybody else find it funny how the TA2K was such a popular, talked about subject, yet it had two installations (including a seemingly lame record breaker) and then went no where? I don't know, I just thought about that. But yeah, I agree that this project is great. I really hope it helps coasters like these and the euro-fighters have a stronger market in the U.S. I could see these things really becoming a hot item with smaller parks especially. -

I'm gonna have to agree with Spookbaby's sex comment here. This ride looks pretty freakin' stellar. This definitely takes my spot for the ride I'm most looking forward to '07. Sorry Dollywood.. -
On-Ride Coaster Video
Scaparri replied to coastervekoma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sheikra has cameras at strategic positions which catches the train going by in about three different places I think. It's kind of a neat idea, but I'm not about to fork out the money they were asking for 10 seconds of less than stellar footage. Maybe if it was a full on-ride video it'd be kind of cool. -
Unless you and your dad plan on driving to each casino, I recommend parking at once place and taking The Deuce Bus up and down the strip. It's a double-decker bus system that only drives on the strip (and to Fremont Street) that stops just about anywhere along the strip. 24 hour passes are only $5.

What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
Scaparri replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Starflyer at Magical Midway- Holy crap that thing is high and you're just in a swings chair. Once you get spinning so fast, you have reassure your head the forces being exerted on you aren't really going to tip the tower over. Oh-Zone at Lake Winnie- Quite possibly the scariest drop tower I've ever been on... even scarier than Acro and DZ at PKI. The ride drops as soon as you reach the top with no warning whatsoever because of shields above the seats that block your view. Insanity & X-Scream- Do these really need an explanation? ProSlide Tornados- HW's is fairly weak, but after going on SFGAm's, I'm never touching one again. I totally understand any injuries that occur on these. KMG Afterburners at carnivals- Again, I have to reassure my head that the ride isn't going to tip. -
Photo TR: Non-German Tom's California Adventure
Scaparri replied to Shockwave's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Dude, this has been an awesome TR. Despite the mediocrity you've experienced at some of the parks, it still makes me really jealous. I've been wanting to get out to Cali for so long just to experience everything myself. Keep the updates flowin' Tom. The people want updates! -
Wild Lightnin'- This mouse is nuts! There are so many times where it seems like you are going to slam into a support. Plus, it's able to be really intense with out being really painful coughmaurersohnecough. Tennessee Tornado- I don't think this gets the recognition it deserves. It's a very short ride, but it is straight up righteous. The first drop is amazing (especially in the back seat), the loop is completely bizarre (must be experienced), and the butterfly element is really intense.

New coaster for Kyongju World
Scaparri replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Because it probably saves them a little cash instead of hiring people to create images and videos that probably won't make much of a difference anyway. I'm sure no matter what, the general public are going to look at it and think it looks cool. -

If you want to talk about sell out whores, think about this... at least it's not "Pimp My Coaster" or something like that. I agree with Gregg, I think this is a great marketing plan for the park/chain. Everybody knows Tony Hawk and he seems to be a pretty good role model. I agree with BeemerBoy though. I feel they could have taken a pretty good idea and made it great by going with a Maurer Sohne spinner to fit the theme a little better. Either way, I think it'll work out really well though. Even if the Gerstlauer doesn't fit quite as well, I personally love the Gerstlauer spinners. Timberland Twister at MOA is an absolute blast.

Mitch Hawker's Steel Poll - Now Open
Scaparri replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Holy freakin' crap Ted. I got by doing it manually, but wow, that's one heck of a system you have there. Kind of makes me wish I had waited to fill out my ballot. -
I feel like I am losing my intense sarcasm and some of my social skills due to a slight depression and an uncomfortable environment.

Mitch Hawker's Steel Poll - Now Open
Scaparri replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ahh poll time... the one time of the year where I force myself to do the nearly impossible and rank everything. I don't know how you people with a 300 or 400+ coaster count do it. -
What is the worst Theme Park in the world?
Scaparri replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've never been to a park that a truly didn't like, given what it was. By that I mean, I didn't go to Beech Bend expecting Holiday World and I didn't go to Michigan's Adventure expecting a high class theme park. Both have things I don't care for, but they are nice parks for what they are. Beech Bend is a glorified carnival, but it's a neat little place in an awesome setting. Michigan's Adventure is a wide open park with few trees, lots of concrete and trash cans, poor capacity, and less than stellar rides outside of one kick @$$ woodie, but it was clean and a nice place nevertheless. I guess if I had to pick one place, as much as I hate to say it, I have to go with SFKK, my home park. It is probably the dirtiest park I've been to, has the worst layout I've ever seen, and on any given day you probably can't count the number of closed rides on one hand, but I still like the place for whatever reason. -
The Internet Wood Coaster Poll Results Are IN!
Scaparri replied to jjeerr's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Damn, combine this quote with the #1 ranking and now is the time that I really kick myself for not getting down there this year. Being a college student sucks sometimes! Well, it sucks a lot of the time. I'll get there next year though. I'd kind of like to see Mitch take on a best parks poll.
