After my year photo TR hiatus due to a broken camera, I'm back. Last night, my girlfriend Laura and I went down to South Bend Chocolate Company's Chocolate Cafe in Downtown Indianapolis. The main reason we ever come down here is for the orgasmic hot chocolate. It's freakin' amazing. It pretty much tastes and looks like they've melted down a chocolate bar to a point that it's drinkable. And to top it off, it beats the hell out of the prices pretty much anywhere else. So if you're ever in the area, hit this place up! "It's like there's a party in my mouth, and everybody's invited!!" And to quench my actual thirst, I had the greatest soda ever. Jone's green apple soda. Laura loves the stuff, as do I. This stuff is so thick and rich, the spoon doesn't even sink to the bottom! Laura finally decides what she wants and has a taste. Look at that!!! Now THAT is hot chocolate! They don't mess around here. Hmm... what to get? The sundaes are pretty sweet, but the hot chocolate is stellar. Not to mention ice cream and cheesecake. And more! Again... kind of a crappy pic. Heck yes Our friend Kayela is working! The main event! It's even written on top of the tallest building in Indy! The "Circle." You can see this town is crazy about their Colts. Sorry about the crappiness of the pic. I'm still getting used to the camera. The shop is located right in the middle of downtown on Monument Circle.

I get really into sports, both watching and playing. Right after the season ends, basketball starts up so I go to pretty much all of my college's basketball games (sweet sixteen, here we come!). Gotta love free admission to students. There might even be a photo TR soon. I also play a lot of basketball (this is Indiana), as well as watch a lot of football, college basketball, and hockey. Then, there's of course studying. Not really a hobby by any means. Just something to help pass the time and maintain a healthy level of insanity.

I've always secretly wanted to get hit by a car. Not terribly fast. Just enough for me to flip up onto the hood, be ok, and then cuss out the driver as I walk off, kind of like in Elf only he didn't do the cussing part. That'd be a story to tell your friends. "What did you do today, Matt?." "Oh just went to class, worked a little, and had practice. What about you, Scott?" "I got hit by a car!" Maybe I'm twisted, or maybe I've just heard too much Dane Cook.

Kings Island slapped with suit for $10M
Scaparri replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Maybe I should have sued King's Island and Vekoma for $400 million each because the psychological grief and fear I experienced when my OTSR failed in the middle of my ride on Face/Off. I mean, seriously, I can't ride any Vekoma Invertigo without reliving a little bit of that fear. They have traumatized me for life!!! Seriously, he may have a little bit of a reason to go after King's Island, but when you make your case for $10 million, then you just look like a greedy @$$ who's just trying to get as much as he can. Hooray sue-happy America. -
I'm mostly German and Irish.

Sounds pretty darn good to me. I've never been to the park, am I'm well aware they have always had a marine base, but it really sounds like he's trying to mix a BGA, SeaWorld, and Six Flags all into one park. Again, I don't know how many of those animal interactions existed before, but they sound pretty awesome.

That is kind of crazy to see. I just don't think of any place that's remotely south and by the ocean getting any snow at all. I must say, Robb's face is freakin' great.

Though I think the Wiggles is one of the worst children's shows I've ever seen (whatever happen to Eureka's Castle or Fraggle Rock?), it seems to be hugely popular with kids and I'm really glad they picked where they did to put it in. I've always hated that tent at the entrance of American and thought it was so awkward.

I didn't think about that. In that case I've saved dozens of lives, because I used to donate plasma twice a week for four months.

Your favorite track support!
Scaparri replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, but B&M supports are almost always much thicker than Intamin supports, so they don't require as many. Intamin seems to typically use a more complex support system with smaller diameter supports, while B&M generally uses a lot of basic, very large diameter supports. -

Socially inept people crack me up. Of course, just the ones that are really socially inept, but have nothing actually wrong with them. I find humor in their awkwardness and ignorance, and yes, I'm fully aware that I'm going to hell.

Sling Shot VS. Sky Coaster
Scaparri replied to thrillrideseeker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sling shots are very intimidating because of the launch, but the launch is more exhilarating, and after that, it's nothing too exciting. With skycoasters, not only do you have to pull the cord, but as soon as you do, your body flips completely vertical into a dive until the slack catches which scares the crap out of me. Plus, you feel much more vulnerable wearing just a little harness held by a cord on skycoasters. So yeah, I vote skycoasters. -

The seatbelt on Face/Off saved my life several years ago when my harness opened while going up the lift hill in reverse.

This looks fun...
Scaparri replied to mad_dog_BB's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wicked awesome, Jeff. I just hope I can get up there and experience it myself before long. Can't wait to see what the Toverland coaster is going to be like. -
I hate that my school pretty much has a bookstore monopoly! I bought four books today and it cost me over $500!! I still have to get more too! I don't have the money out of pocket to buy my books for cheap on amazon, so I have to go through the university. And come May, when it's time to sell them back, I'm going to get about $50 in return, only for them to sell them back in the fall for $20 lower than the original price. I need to contact the authorities because I have been raped!!

I desperately want to get out to SoCal. Even though everybody says it's over rated, it's just something I want to experience myself.

Quite possibly my favorite LTJ song of all time, as much as it doesn't sound like traditional LTJ. I'm listening to "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" by the Postal Service

Best Looking Park From A Distance
Scaparri replied to RollerC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^No, 'cause that's not the view you get by any means. That's looks like it's been taken on top of one of the clubs. IOA is cool, but nothing terribly spectacular or intimidating as far as skyline goes. And it's not that amazing looking from the highway either. I have to second Cedar Point (I feel like it's going to be a given) and SFOT, but also throw in SFOG. As you approach the park on the highway, you start to see Acro, and now, you see Goliath towering on top of the hill, and eventually Mindbender, and Deja Vu, and Scorcher. It's a pretty sweet visual. Pretty intimidating to me. As you approach SFOT, the skyline bears it all. Sorry for the lousy picture. The real IOA view. -
Retro Photo Working-At-CP Report

Wow, those Magnum uniforms are hideous! Makes me appreciate the uniform I had a little more. So did they work you 70 hours a week back then too?
