Lagoon Discussion Thread
Scaparri replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This ride is looking pretty sick. That zero-g roll is making me drool. Hopefully it runs smoothly. -
1. I can wiggle my ears independently. 2. I play basketball for at least an hour almost every day (it's in the blood). 3. I am deathly terrified of dentists. Whenever I'm forced to go, I always where athletic clothing because I sweat so much. 4. I am told that I do an amazing Kermit the Frog impression. 5. I am very frustrated that so many crappy shows have come out on dvd, but CHiPs hasn't.

I find it humorous that the new spam poster for Viagra spelled "pharmacy" with an s instead of a c.

Awesome TR Scott. Those views are great, and the Sheriff pic is AWESOME! I want to watch Smokey and the Bandit now. -
5th Dimension Coaster Idea
Scaparri replied to Android's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's just too much. Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem if coaster technology just stopped for a while. There is so much out there as it is and there is still so much that can be done. -
The Best Morgan Hyper Coaster
Scaparri replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, Phantom's Revenge is my favorite steel coaster so I have to go with it. The twisting first drop, the crazy second drop, and the insane ejector air all gets it done. The only other Morgan I've been on is Wild Thing and it is easily the worst hyper I've been on. It just didn't do anything for me. Way too tame. -
Wow, that's disappointing. Especially since Lost Continent is by far my favorite island. I mean, I'm sure it'll be huge for IOA as far as marketing, but as Robb said, I liked the "non-commercial" appeal of it. So long as they still have amazing theming and Dueling Dragons remains fairly untouched, I won't complain too much once the change actually occurs. But I think Derek and Tom hit it on the head. Harry Potter may be huge now, but I don't see it being something that remains popular for a really long time.

^Because most of the time, its not just a bad movie name. Sure you have the Drop Zones and Face/Off and the Supermans, etc. But take a look at all of the Batman inverts, Mr. Freezes, Italian Jobs, Flight of Fears. All done by seasonal parks (with the exception of SFMM that runs for the most part year round), and the theming dramatically enhances the experience. It makes the park more fun and more of a fantasy. Sure, its definitely possible to have great parks without much theming, but its definitely a debatable subject that these parks would all be better if they themed their rides more. -
^Yeah, exactly. Considering a great deal of these companies have a request next to their phone numbers that all calls be business only, you can't really blame them for not being the most polite people you've ever encountered. Its like when my roommates try to talk to me while I do my homework. I appreciate it, but I have more important things I need to do.

Awesome! I'm a little confused though. The nose seems to be floating out in the middle of nowhere. You would think its in front of the train, but then again, the riders' feet are photoshopped over it. Do you think its just a crummy artwork job and its going to be on the front car kind of below the seats or something? Kind of a minor, but just has me curious.

^Yeah, Dominator had the same deal when I was there in '05, too. I didn't really feel it hurt the ride though. Sure, it would've been nicer if it wasn't there, but the ride was still extremely smooth. I just hope it isn't much worse now. -

Its the Gauntlet, the old looping star! I WIN!!! I WIN!!!! Now when do I get to redeem my prize!?!? -
Well, though the whole head-is-inches-from-the-ground thing is considerably frightening, the program itself doesn't strike me as being any worse than the top program on the actual robo coasters.

I doubt it, at least not this year since they already made their announcements for this season. -

You might also notice that in the picture of people walking across the causeway with Head Spin in the background, Venom has been photo-shopped out, not that the map doesn't already confirm this. I'm just confused as to why they would do that. I mean, I guess it never seemed that wildly popular, and Wicked Twister is down the road, but the ride sits on such a small footprint. I really don't understand CF's intentions with this park. -Scott "I miss Six Flags" Parrish -

Yes, but they do it so they can make tens of thousands of dollars letting that horse (had it survived) make babies with any other horse. -Scott "If you're a successful race horse that lives through your short career, life is oh so sweet" Parrish -

Which is exactly why her songs are so annoying... because they are all about how sexy she thinks she is. -

Eh... I'm sure it'll have a hefty wait, but I definitely don't expect to see any seven hour lines. It's nothing record setting. I would expect a three hour line at the most. -

I can't decide if this ride is going to be really freakin' cool or really freakin' lame. It really looks like it could go either way. The high speed and trenches will be cool, but there isn't much elevation change at all. Doesn't seem like a great deal is happening. Hopefully I'm just not seeing very good angles and its really freakin' cool. -

You crossed THAT line and I still can't help but laugh. It really is rather sad though. I was a bit stunned to see it when I went for my regular visit to espn.com. The Triple Crown races are the only horse races I pay any attention to. I hope to one day make it down to the Derby. Its just a shame when things like this happen though. -

I'm going to join the anything-by-Fergie bandwagon. I'm willing to bet that the next time VH1 does The 40 Most Awesomely Bad Songs, any and all of her singles are going to be on there.
