  1. Since this could possibly be the last year F1 comes to the U.S., I decided to go to the race one more time this year. I lucked out and had some pretty sweet seats that were in the shade on this day that was hot as balls. For an F1 race, I found it to be pretty good. I don't know what the TV coverage was like, but there were a lot of really good battles going on around the track. It ended up being won by the hot shot rookie, Lewis Hamilton. This kid is the new Schumacher, I'm calling it. F1 isn't really a form of racing that is properly appreciated in the U.S. unfortunately. The cars and drivers are simply amazing and the atmosphere is vibrant. If you haven't been out of the country, then this is probably the next closest thing. The race brings in tons of visitors from other countries. It's almost like a cultural gathering. So much that I would be hesitant to talk to the person next to me for fear that I don't speak their language. The fans are hardcore and it's unbelievable. I really hope they bring it back. It's a lot of fun. FYI: There is something wrong with my camera where a small bubble like image appears in most of the pictures. Sorry about that. Here's a clue as to where I'll be next weekend! F1 brings in a bit of a different crowd, than say, Nascar or Indycar. The crowd takes over the streets after the race. It's about twice as bad after the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400! On comes the Champagne! The crowd goes crazy as the present the trophies to the top three. I quickly head down to the Bombardier Tower to see the celebrations. Lewis Hamilton wins his second F1 race! This guy is going to be a legend. NOOOOO!! My favorite, Nico Rosberg, goes up in flames!! Late in the race, the McLaren's are having a spirited battle. Felipe Massa returns to the track following one of his pit stops. The two-time reigning champ, Fernando Alonso, comes screaming out of the pits trying to make up ground. These cars are insanely fast! After one lap, the McLarens are already taking it to everybody. The lights are out! The race is on! The field rolls off on the formation lap. For you non-F1 fans, they turn a single lap around the track before stopping again for the start. The traditional fly over! Nothing will ever top the year they had the Stealth bomber at the Indy 500 though. Tons of fans! Despite this being one of the most highly attended F1 races of the year, they still want to get rid of it! Hot shot rookie and last week's winner, Lewis Hamilton, comes out for his shakedown lap. My personal favorite, Nico Rosberg, comes out for his pre-race shakedown lap! Grid girls! The Ferrari drivers, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen, atop a quarter of a million dollar car. McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. These guys are the new Ferrari. The crowd just goes nuts! Sweet! Not only does my seat have a great view, but it's in the shade! F1 Fans are hardcore. Easily the best fans in the world, mainly 'cause they don't try to kill their opponents. Coughsoccercough. You have to roll to an F1 race in style... Actually, I got these as a joke and they just happen to block the sun really well.
  2. I don't have physical proof off hand, but I remember reading in one of the Sheikra press releases that Busch does have a contract that prevents B&M from building a dive machine in the U.S. for a certain amount of time, though I never heard what the exact time period was.
  3. I took my girlfriend to see Fall Out Boy on June 9th in Chicago. Before I say anything about it, I feel I should point out that I saw Fall Out Boy three and a half years ago at a small venue and they sucked so bad I never cared to listen to them again. But my girlfriend really wanted to see them and I had heard they were better so I surprised her with tickets.... THEY WERE INCREDIBLE!!! I was so blown away by how good they are now. A complete 180. Best rock show I've ever seen. +44, Paul Wall, and The Academy Is were also there. +44 put on a pretty good show, The Academy Is was nothing to write home about, and Paul Wall... well, is there really even a point to rap concerts? Nothing like putting on a cd and spitting lyrics with yourself.
  4. Anymore it seems that there are just a few too many people on here that try too hard to be funny via being a smart ass. Sometimes I think a few uses just roam the threads waiting to be a jerk to somebody. I'm up for sarcasm and teasing too, but you don't have to be a dick about it. Half the time these people trying to be funny just come off rude by overly generalizing a user's post, and then making some smart ass comment about it that barely even applies. I'm not even speaking as a victim. I'm just getting annoyed with seeing it. I feel like these boards are a high school popularity contest or stand-up comedy attempt for some people. It just gets old.
  5. I don't really have any coasters that freak me out anymore. I've gotten fairly used to the experience. Though, there are a few coasters out there that I haven't ridden that I'm sure would stir a little fear up, like Kirnu, Hypersonic, Dodonpa, and X. I also get really freaked out by large Intamin Freefalls or any ARM tower. I love them, but the drop still freaks me out and the anticipation is just killer.
  6. I feel like the National Spelling Bee is more of a competition of who has the lowest chance of getting laid in their lifetime than it is a competition of who can spell the best.

  8. Definitely 2000.... Kraken Boss Millennium Force Son of Beast (I actually liked it when it first came out) Steel Venom Villain Dominator and I'm sure there are a few more that I've been on that I'm forgetting.
  9. I think two is just the standard nowadays. It's just easier to have two for daily track inspections and any time a train may stop or valley in the middle of the course so that you have to have a walk down with guests. But to answer your question, I imagine it's up to the designer with input from the park, though I highly doubt we'll ever see a one rail woodie ever again.
  10. Easily McDonald's. Burger King is probably my least favorite major fast food chain. I've never found their burgers to be all that good, and I'm not really a fan of their fries. McDonald's probably has the best fries in fast food in my opinion and everything they have (except the fish) is generally pretty tasty for the time and money you're putting into it.
  11. 1. What is your best friend's Mom's name? Linda 2. What body part do you hate? Sweat Glands 3. Who was the hottest teacher you ever had? I had a few hot student teachers in high school. 4. Have you ever made out in a movie theatre? Not really 5. What body part do you wash first? Legs/feet 6. Do you have any piercings? nope 7. Have you ever had withdrawal symptoms from fast food? Yeah, from Steak n Shake 8. Is your driveway steep? No 9. What's your favourite flavoured Pringles? Original, though I'm not much of a chip guy 10. Have you ever been tied up? Yeah, last ni... I mean, yeah, when I was a little kid and played with my friends. 11. What was the worst thing you ever got grounded for? Never been grounded. 12. Have you ever thrown up over something you've treasured? no 13. Have you ever had two dates in one night? no 14. How many times have you been cursed at? Let's just look at my summer of working at CP on MF alone... I worked there for three months, and got cussed out about every 10 minutes at an average of 12 hours a day, for six days. So what does that equal? 15. Which shoe do you put on first? Whichever one is closest 17. Have you ever been to a gay bar? no 18. Have you ever had any Friends with Benefits? yes 19. Is there one thing all of your love interests have had in common? not really 20. Where's the most random place you've ever woken up in? Poolside at the Sheraton Sand Key 21. Have you ever been cow-tipping or snipe-hunting? No, but I've sent a few people snipe-hunting, and know some people who've been cow-tipping. 22. Who is the last person you usually think about before you fall asleep? Myself or my girl. 23. Have you ever had a song written about you? No, but I've had some pretty lousy poems written about me. 24. If you had to choose to not ever wash your bed sheets again or not wash your bath towel ever again, which would you choose? Bed sheets... they stay fresher longer than bath towels do, and it only costs $12 for new sheets at Wal-Mart. 25. Have you ever found anything in your parents' bedroom that was questionable? Not really. 26. What was your childhood nickname? Scotty, Peanut 27. When is the last time you played the air guitar? Maybe when I was 9. 28. Have you ever peeked in the opposite sexes locker room? Kind of, I've accidently walked into the wrong one. 29. Have you ever groped someone before and then yelled 'stop groping me'? That's stupid. 30. Have you ever bitten your toenails? Sure, at some point in my life. 31. How do you normally eat your Oreo cookies? With milk, or crunched up in ice cream. 32. have you ever stopped in the middle of the street to do the YMCA? No, I don't really stop in the middle of the song to do the YMCA. 33. Name something you do when you're alone that you wouldn't do in front of others? Sit around naked. 34. Have you ever tried to kiss a policeman/fireman/nurse? Uhh, no 35. Have you ever randomly gone up to someone and asked for their picture/autograph/moblie number? No 36. How many drinks does it take before you get drunk? Depends on how much I've had to eat. If I haven't eaten all day, probably two max. If I have eaten a bit, then probably 4 or 5. 37. Why are you doing this survey? Because I don't really care to respond to any of the others, and these stupid surveys are a guilty pleasure. 38. Have you ever got into your birthday suit while drunk? Maybe... 39. Do you scrunch or fold your toilet paper? Depends on the quality of the TP. Which reminds me, Sheryl Crow must be either the most talented person in the world, or the most disgusting person in the world if she seriously expects people to only use one square when they give their offerings to the porcelain gods. 40. Do you have any strange phobias? Strange? Not entirely. I'm terrified of the dentist. Does that count? Freakin' people sticking sharp metal objects in my mouth.
  12. H) Pay off my student loans, make sure my family is alright, put a large portion in the bank, and take a little chunk and buy myself a seat in some feeder race series like Formula BMW or Skip Barber National Championship as I work my way up the racing ladder.
  13. I find it rather humorous that the same 5 or 6 people seem to be the only ones that post in the "Picture of Me" thread.... over and over and over again.
  14. Three Scratch-Offs and a Hoosier Lotto ticket for $5.
  15. Well, it all depends on the ride, but I'd say 4 out of 5 times I prefer the back.
  16. Snap! I know I saw the Victory Storm King and two of the Bell's stouts this weekend in Cinci! Thanks for the suggestions, Derek. I'll be making a note of all those. I need to try and find a good store with a wide variety of beers around Bloomington (where I'm at for the summer), but unfortunately, they seem to be few and far between. At least I know where to go now during my montly visits to Cinci. Tonight, I decided to finish off the beers that I had picked up in Cinci last weekend. I saved Avery Brewing Co's New World Porter for tonight. It was a very good Porter, with a nice coffee-like flavor and a good bite to it. Not my favorite though. I'm still a big fan of Ram Brewery's Total Disorder Porter, granted, I'm still a mere newbie in the beer world. Avery Brewing Company's New World Porter.
  17. I have to admit, despite openly stating how stupid the show looked last year when they were showing previews, I actually really like this show. Its good to see that they did a second season. Now I have something to watch on Tuesday nights.
  18. Makes me wonder how these people travel from place to place. If they are this concerned about amusement parks, they must crap their britches anytime they step foot in a car.
  19. I'd go with SFOG. Holiday World is great and all, but I personally think it's a little overrated. There's by far not enough to keep my occupied for an entire day in the amusement park, and the water park is always way too crowded when I go there. Plus, I know when I was 11 or 12, I would have rather gone to a place like SFOG because of it's big thrills and larger selection. I love SFOG and it's definitely one of the nicer parks I've been to. I've never really had anything to complain about. Plus, I could easily spend an entire day there. I think you'll have that just about anywhere except a handful of parks, honestly.
  20. As far as the coasters go, I'd have to say Tamprica. It's hard to beat the Montu/Sheikra/Kumba combo. On the other hand, its hard to beat the theming and beauty of Euroburg. Overall though, BGA edges out BGE for me. They could use a little more in the flat department, but I love the coaster line-up and I really like all the animal exhibits they have. It's a close call though.
  21. As I mentioned earlier on the page, I was at this wicked awesome grocery store in Cincinnati that has a ton of microbrewery beers. I was stunned to actually find the TPR famous Victory HopDevil. So tonight, I finally busted open the bottle. This is definitely one heck of a beer. I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale a lot, but this definitely surpasses that. Its very hoppy, but thats probably obvious. I will definitely be picking up more during my next visit to Cinci. On a side note, though I do love the HopDevil and other pale ales, i'm starting to realize I'm more of a stout and porter kind of guy. Any suggestions guys? That's the stuff. Finally, a taste of the Victory HopDevil.
  22. On this same note, something I've kind have been wondering... On the first page of the Terms of Service, Robb's second post states that you are only supposed to post 15 pictures per post, yet you are actually capable of loading 50 per post and I don't think hardly anybody actually abides by that rule. Does it actually matter? Or are we free to post up to 50?
  23. Yeah, I thought pretty much every coaster with OTSRs generally has a warning to take out your earrings. I guess its interesting that CP is stressing it so much, but it doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me.
  24. If this were 2002 or earlier, I'd say Iron Wolf. But since then, it's become a pile of crap that needs to be cut up into scrap metal. That ride used to be so freakin' amazing. Anyway, out of Iron Wolf, Chang, Mantis, Vortex (Carowinds), Georgia Scorcher, and King Cobra, I have to go with Mantis. Georgia Scorcher is pretty darn good, as is Chang, but Mantis has the length that GS doesn't and it has the kick-your-pants ending that Chang doesn't.
