  1. I play a pretty mean game of mini-golf and I can drive the ball pretty far. Now if only I could combine the two and everything in between.
  2. Indiana (home state) Ohio Michigan Illinois Wisconsin Minnesota Kentucky Tennessee Georgia Florida Alabama South Carolina North Carolina Virginia West Virginia Pennsylvania Maryland New Jersey New York Missouri Arkansas Oklahoma Texas Nevada California Arizona New Mexico Mississippi Louisiana Delaware Connecticut Massachusetts And *technically* Kansas and Colorado, but I don't really include those.
  3. You're forgetting that Cedar Fair has no sense of history. It's a nice thought though.
  4. How many "I'm going Cedar Point. Will it be busy and what should I ride first?" threads do we need? Seriously.
  5. Awesome TR! I was really hoping to see what these were going to be like. I need to check to see if they have transformed any near me, though I highly doubt it.
  6. I'm a theme park fan, though it's not uncommon for me to go to a park and only ride a few non-coaster rides. I also pick which parks I go to based on the coasters that they have, but I still love the atmosphere of a park. I just only ride rides that I really enjoy are unique. I don't feel a desire to go on a scrambler at every park I go to.
  7. Mine was thrillride.com back in the late 90's. rcdb.com and ultimaterollercoaster.com were also sites I discovered early on. I think I found them all through an altavista search.
  8. ^^Yeah, me too. I have been to plenty of Nascar, IRL, Champ Car, and F1 races, so when my bro told me I HAD to get earplugs for NHRA, I wasn't sure what the fuss was about. We got to the event and top fuel qualifications were up. My bro told me to just listen to the first race without ear plugs. WOW!!!! Indycar is loud. Nascar is slightly louder. F1 is louder than both of those. But the funny cars and top fuelers make everything sound like a little kid making lip noises while playing with Hot Wheels. It's just unreal. I'm hopin' I can score some tickets for this year's U.S. Nationals. Again, awesome TR, Pete.
  9. Wow! I'm gonna take a chance and say that is the largest single page photo TR in TPR history. The biggest I've seen by far, but it was awesome!!! I love the NHRA. I've always been a huge racing fan, but never got into the NHRA a great deal until last year when I went to the US Nationals in Indy. It is so incredible. The funny cars and dragsters just blow my mind. They are so incredibly loud, fast, and powerful. It's amazing how you can feel your skin shake when the hit they throttle. The Pro Stocks and Pro Stock Bikes are very cool too. The Bikers must have juevos the size of grapefruits. Peggy, Angele and the other women have something that's oversized too. I just haven't figured it out yet. Awesome TR. I'm definitely jealous!
  10. The day they actually pull that off, I'll be out in a boat in a lake, deep within some brush with my shotty, waiting to shoot down some good ham and bacon. 2009? I find that really hard to believe. It just blows my mind what we waste our money on...
  11. Yeah, during my tenure at CP, it was known fact among the employees that TTD's seatbelts were a little longer than MF, and that the seatbelts on MF varied greatly. At one point, the test seat was three inches longer than the actual train seats, and we even figured out certain seats on the train in which the belts were considerably longer than others. It's really screwy, but at the same time, they are really hard to maintain. I'm not sure what the rules are now, but back in '05, each rider had to be able to pull the belt a certain length before it being considered safe to ride. There were some pretty big guys trying to squeeze into those seats so the belts became fairly stretched over time.

  13. Eh, I don't know about that. I don't know how well SF trains their employees, but during my tenure at CP, we were taught to watch and listen for anything abnormal. Not to mention, we were taught to keep our hand on the stop button anytime the ride was in motion/leaving the station. I'm not saying you're wrong. I just figure, during my time, if I had seen anything break or something that didn't look right at all, it would have been an instant reaction. Who knows. We still aren't even sure how it happened. Just throwin' my bit in about that.
  14. Well, looking on the positive side, once she gets her check from Six Flags/Intamin for the lawsuit, she'll be able to get a fine pair of prosthetic feet and live a somewhat normal life. In 2001, former F1 driver Alex Zanardi suffered a crash in which he lost both legs above the knee. But today, he is able to walk, race, and even makes jokes about the situation.
  15. I wasn't doubting that people recognize chess as a sport. I'm just saying there is no way in hell it's a sport. If chess is a sport then what isn't sport? Everything would be a sport. Anyway, I think people have almost convinced me to believe that competetive chearleading is a sport. The argument is a solid one.
  16. Touche. If chess is a sport, then I can't wait for the PJA, or, Professional Jenga Association, to be formed.
  17. Yeah, I'm not a huge McLaren fan anymore either. I was a big Montoya fan, but we all know what happened there. I was really rooting for Kimi actually (I'm realistic, I know Nico isn't going to win), but I'm also glad to see Lewis doin' so well. It'd be cool to see Vettel in a seat, but how can they get rid of Kubica or Heidfeld? Especially with how good Nick's been doing! I guess we'll see.
  18. There should only be one candidate here, and he should be offered whatever amount of money it takes to get him: Sean Connery Come on! Just imagine him saying, ""Be shor to hahv yor pets shpade ahnd nootuhd." Guys would be psyched 'cause the man freaking played James Bond, and the girls would go crazy 'cause he's like 82 and still a ladies man. It's a win-win situation. Seriously, Regis wouldn't be a bad replacement though.
  19. T2 at SFKK. I've suffered through it one too many times. I miss the days when this bad boy was actually smooth Most ProSlide Tornados, particularly SFGAm's- I kind of like life. Iron Wolf- They need to do to this what they should have never done to Shockwave. SOB- G-trains, are you kidding?
  20. Ahh yes, Michigan. The butthole of America. Boo Michigan. Hooraaaaay jailbait. This TR is awesome, Tom. Lookin' forward to the rest. Keep it comin'.
  21. ^You make a solid point with your gymnastics/figure skating view. The definition that you were provided is still a bit on the loose end though. I almost feel like it's impossible to specifically define a "sport", 'cause under that definition, lots of things can be a sport, like show choir, marching band, and guard. I'm not criticizing you or your post by the way. Just pointing out that the definition given is still a bit on the broad side. I guess it's just one of those opinion things that falls on a borderline.
  22. 1. "Wait, Wait, Wait"- The Format 2. "Fat Lip"- Sum 41 3. "Creatures"- 311 4. "Three Evils"- Coheed and Cambria (or really, any song by C&C) 5. "Livin' on a Prayer"- Bon Jovi Honorable mention: Anything by John Mellencamp
  23. ^Yeah man, the F1 race is a blast, and the Indy 500 is the ultimate. The Brickyard is fun, but honestly I feel it is the worst of the three events. But maybe that's just because I generally prefer open-wheel racing. If all you have to do is buy a general admission ticket for the 500 though, you have to do that!! That's awesome! You won't regret it!
  24. Cheerleading, as in, cheerleading on the side during a game? Definitely not. Cheerleading, as in, competitive cheeleading? Not really. I see somewhat of an argument with competitive cheerleading because it is a competition and requires athletic ability, but then again, how is it that much different than say, show choir? How do you draw the line. There are some pretty intense show choirs out there. Is show choir a sport? No. Is competitive cheerleading a sport? No. It's a performance that involves athletic ability.
  25. J'aime beaucoup les canards!!! Yo soy de Bloomington, IN. Yo quiero el helado y el baloncesto!
