  1. This summer the ground drops out. Could there be an inverted flat ride in the works? My guess is a Zamperla Hawk.
  2. Dang, Voodoo REALLY fits in with DP's skyline! I'm hoping for a 2008 trip. This should definitely bring in a lot of crowds, but sadly, this will probably mean rather long lines for the low capacity of shuttle coasters.
  3. I know, kind of off topic, but those buildings I circled look AWESOME! -Tanks "Architecture Geek" 4me05. Anyway, I was planning a Mid East Trip to add to my massive list of parks I want to visit before I die, now WoD (World of Discovery) is being added to the list. At first I was just going to go to Dubai for the awesomeness of architecture. Now I'm going for awesomeness of architecture AND roller coasters. Most likely good ones, too.
  4. I think this is a rather interesting concept. Although the guests wouldn't like the rides being so spread out, this is just a video game. I say keep building.
  5. I thought it would just be some crappy interpretation of the ride, but this is really accurate! You even got the rotating parts! The supports used for the track style were amazingly accurate! This was great!
  6. I think that you should use a larger variety of trees and that you should use more types of paths from CS packs - like the Aceana's Pavement ESSENTIALS Series. Other than that, as your first park, this is UNBELIEVABLE! Holy crap, for a first park, this is great! Extra kudos for adding a Bussink Evolution. As your first park, holy crap this is amazing! Just add in what I suggested and your park will be 100% awesome! Now it's only 90% awesome.
  7. If you have a rather immature sense of humor (like me) you will find this rather hilarious. Ths is an email that my mom forwarded to me that she got from one of her friends - who is a Civil Engineer. EMAIL: If you don't laugh out loud after you read this you are in a coma! This is even funnier when you realize it's real! Next time you have a bad day at work…think of this guy, Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers in Louisiana . He performs underwater repairs on offshore drilling rigs. Below is an e-mail he sent to his sister. She then sent it to radio station 103.2 on FM dial in Ft. Wayne , Indiana , who was sponsoring a worst job experience contest. Needless to say, she won. Hi Sue, Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother. Last week I had a bad day at the office. I know you've been feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would share my dilemma with you to make you realize it's not so bad after all. Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first must bore you with a few technicalities of my job. As you know, my office lies at the bottom of the sea. I wear a suit to the office. It's a wetsuit. This time of year the water is quite cool. So what we do to keep warm is this: We have a diesel powered industrial water heater. This $20,000 piece of equipment sucks the water out of the sea. It heats it to a delightful temperature. It then pumps it down to the diver through a garden hose, which is taped to the air hose. Now this sounds like a darn good plan, and I've used it several times with no complaints. What I do, when I get to the bottom and start working, is take the hose and stuff it down the back of my wetsuit. This floods my whole suit with warm water. It's like working in a Jacuzzi. Everything was going well until all of a sudden, my butt started to itch. So, of course, I scratched it. This only made things worse. Within a few seconds my butt started to burn I pulled the hose out from my back, but the damage was done. In agony I realized what had happened. The hot water machine had sucked up a jellyfish and pumped it into my suit. Now, since I don't have any hair on my back, the jellyfish couldn't stick to it. However, the crack of my butt was not as fortunate. When I scratched what I thought was an itch, I was actually grinding the jellyfish into the crack of my butt. I informed the dive supervisor of my dilemma over the communicator. His instructions were unclear due to the fact that he, along with five other divers, were all laughing hysterically. Needless to say I aborted the dive. I was instructed to make three agonizing in-water decompression stops totaling thirty-five minutes before I could reach the surface to begin my chamber dry decompression. When I arrived at the surface, I was wearing nothing but my brass helmet. As I climbed out of the water, the medic, with tears of laughter running down his face, handed me a tube of cream and told me to rub in on my butt as soon as I got in the chamber. The cream put the fire out, but I couldn't poop for two days because my butt was swollen shut. So, next time you're having a bad day at work, think about how much worse it would be if you had a jellyfish shoved up your butt. Now repeat to yourself, "I love my job, I love my job, I love my job." Now whenever you have had a bad day, ask yourself, Is this a jellyfish bad day? May you NEVER have a jellyfish bad day
  8. I think the park loks pretty nice. Nothing compared to Siam Park, though. -Tanks "HOLY CRAP, SIAM PARK IS FREAKING AMAZING!" 4me05.
  9. printersdevil78, I'm pretty sure Sylvan Beach's Laffland is an original Pretzel Dark Ride as well - built in the mid 1950's.
  10. But he still didn't go to Sylvan Beach in 2007. If you don't go to Sylvan Beach on a yearly basis, you are considered a loser. I'm not really that pissed. It was mostly poking fun at myself due to my fanaticism regarding the park. Oh, BTW, they got a new mini golf course next to Kiddieland and they got a Rotor right next to Galaxi. I have yet to ride the Rotor, but I saw it when it was only a few weeks away from completion - it's all ready for riders now.
  11. Heh. Winter. What winter? It's California! It's always freaking SUMMER over there! What was it, a "chilly" 68 degrees? Wimps. Other than that, the pics were cool, although IMO you should have taken more of Silver Bullet, I think it's pretty photogenic. -Tanks "I'm freaking cold and bored in Central New York" 4me05.
  12. You danced at Darien Lake, even Seabreeze, but no Sylvan Beach. Oh well, more of their brand new Rotor for me, then. (Imagine viewing that face from above, and you get the idea.)
  13. What person would buy a $1,000,000 pair of shoes? You could buy a flat from freaking KMG and STILL have a nice amount of cash left over for the electircity and maintenance bills!
  14. As long as Sylvan Beach isn't deemed a complete piece of crap, I will be happy. -Tanks "probably one of six people on this forum who went to Sylvan Beach - and one of five that like it" 4me05.
  15. ^ Pacing with a Stand Up shouldn't be too bad. Just keep your elements smaller. My Furchtbahn has over 4,000 feet of track, and although it goes from 74 mph to about 40 - 45 mph, the final turn still pulls over 4 G's.
  16. *Leaves thread in disgust and sulks in basement for rest of the day.*
  17. ^IF the deceleration G's are strong enough (don't go above 2 - 2.5) and if the brake section is long enough. That is what the E-Stop test is used for. Anyway, I have pics for Furchtbahn: Here is an overview of Furchtbahn's layout. The element that is highlighted in green is my signature element - the Warped Immelmann. Jamjar, what program did you use to make your logo?
  18. I think it is a common misconception that pretzel loops pull up to 6 g's at the bottom. It is probably goes no higher than 4 - 4.5 g's, but the direction of the force makes it feel stronger. Hmmm, that could be possible, however look at Tower of Terror at Gold Reef City in South Africa - it is the most forceful coaster Iknow of at 6.3 G's - I know it's not flyer, but it still pulls 6.3 G's. Proof: http://rcdb.com/id1481.htm Anyway, Furchtbahn is almost done. When I finish trackwork, I will post pictures.
  19. CoasterNut17, my entry - Furchtbahn (German for "Fear Coaster") has a boost that goes to 74 mph, but even though the boost is set to 74 mph, it sometimes spikes up to 77 mph. Will that be counted against me? (Yes, my ride is a boosting B&M Stand Up.) Also, the ride sometimes had "severe random G spikes" - whenever I go through an elemenet that normally pulls about 4.7 - 4.9 G's, it can sometimes go into the red - anywhere from 0.8 to 1 full G higher than normal. Will these "Super G Spikes" count against me? (I normally build my rides intense - although a little on the insane side, there is NEVER a time except for Pretzel Loops on a Flyer that I will intentionally build beyond 5.3 G's.)
  20. I can definitely say that this is a very high quality park so far! Great detail has been put into the entrance!
  21. Does it even go upside down? If not, you definitely have a unique ride here.
  22. 1; Are there any plans to install coasters or rides that are already sitting at the parks (but are awaiting to be built)? Specifically, what are you planning to do with the Togo Ultratwister at Six Flags America? 2: What is the reason that NIghtmare at Crack Axle Canyon at Great Escape is "Standing But Not Operating"? Is anything planned to go in its current location? 3: What are the plans for he Vekoma SLC that is at Great Escape, still awaiting construction?
  23. ^Yeah, that's what I had in mind. I have a feeling that .nltrack files are going to be more similar to .nl2track files than the .trk files or whatever they are called.
  24. I know I already went to CP before, but that was back in 2004 - before I cared about what seat to ride in. Now that I actually do care about what seats to ride in, I would like to know: (Also, which train is the "Magic Seat" on.) -The most forceful seat on Raptor -The most forceful/smoothest seat on Mantis -The smoothest seat on Iron Dragon, and with the most swinging -The seat on MF that has the best airtime -The smoothest seat on Mean Streak (for Predator at Darien Lake it is the second car, first row - since the magic seat on some coasters can be very discreet, this is why I am asking people here.) -The seat on Maggie with the best airtime -The seat on Blue Streak with the best airtime. -The seats on Gemini (seats meaning both sides) with the most airtime -The smoothest seat on Corkscrew or the seat that gives the best airtime on that first drop.
