  1. Believe it or not, this is coaster related. For the Behemoth Bash event, I'm bringing along my video camera and my Nikon (as I do for virtually every park) to film and photograph the... spontaneity... of the event to say the least. So, for the music video, I'm looking for some songs that have lyrics regarding Canada, preferably making fun of the country. I already have Canadian Idiot by Weird Al on the list, anyone have any more ideas? (I tried googling stuff, but I couldn't find anything else. I would use the ones that R&E used for their 2003 MarineLand video, but I want originality.) But before any Canadians start shooting me, I must say that these potentially derogatory songs are for pure comedic purposes only, as in reality, I think Canada is awesome. For example - Infinity Ward (makers of CoD4) and Bioware (the geniuses who made Mass Effect ) and, well, Behemoth. They also have the first coaster I remember and my second credit ever - MarineLand's Tivoli Coaster. Besides, I bet there are plenty of songs that make fun of America, except I never heard of any. (To be honest, I don't like my own "democracy kicks butt/McDonald's or DIE" country that much anyway. There are way too many problems with this country. But the coasters are fun.
  2. IMO Mean Streak is fun. Sure it hurt, but it still had a good "character" to the ride. I will try to get a night ride in 2009 like TopThrill182 said, and see what I can do. Speaking of which, TopThrill182, what seat is the best on Mean Streak? Does it matter which train? My only trip to CP was in 2004, and I'll finally be going back in 2009 and I had ridden few wooden coasters then (still that number is just over a dozen) and I didn't care for seating, I just wanted a shorter wait.
  3. Actually, I think I will put those quotes in my new thread "Most BRILLIANT things said on TPR" We are just like fans of New Age/Ambient Electronica. Most people think it's crap, but those who think the stuff is good are the real people who are sane. (Search Chris Carter, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Adiemus, Karl Jenkins, Björk, and Imogen Heap on Itunes to understand what I mean.) HOW DARE YOU INSULT THE MIGHTY HERCULES?!!!!!!!!! HERCULES IS GOOD I TELL YOU!!!!!!!!! GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!!!!1!! -Tanks "the above statement was an example of my ravings of Hercules, and was also posted for old time's sake" 4me05.
  4. ^Should I send this into other sites now? Or should I wait a little bit more?
  5. Big Thunder at Rapids Waterpark in West Palm Beach, FL - 2006. My first Proslide Tornado (why they recently built a second clone, but dark, I don't know) I knew I was safe, but I didn't know what to expect, as I never went on a slide like that before. But, I don't think I ever experienced airtime on a slide before, which I loved.
  6. It's not like you are being launched off the top. Besides, if it's an enclosed body slide, you won't be ejected. But, holy crap. A vertical waterslide taller than Mantis!
  7. It's definitely not affecting my family all that much. My parents jobs (both band teachers) are quite secure, as they have been teaching for over 25 years each. We aren't worried at all. Plus in central New York, we are (thankfully) relatively isolated from the economic downturn, at least from the housing standpoint. I won't be affected at all. Granted, DL is not my favorite park, but it is good, and it has HUGE potential. The park is rather clean, and trust me, I looked hard. There are only a few spots of cracked pavement. There's one large moyund of cracked pavement behind Potato Works, but that's the only spot worth fixing. People that think Viper and Boomerang are rough, frankly are whimps. I have been on Predator and Astroland's Cyclone, I know what rough is. Mind Eraser is kind of rough, but still, others are whimps. Yeah, Predator is rough, but it isn't that bad in the second car, first row. The flat ride collection is well rounded, and RoS has great airtime. (I have been on S:ROS at SFNE so I know what a good ride is.) Besides, things are finally looking up. Remember MotoCoaster - our first ride that cost more than a week's worth of lunch money in the past decade. And the structure is about half done already, based on reports at wnycoasters. *Takes a poo in Philrad71's cereal boxes, leaves thread in disgust, and sulks in basement for the following week.*
  8. Pwnageness! (Yes, I made that up.) That will definitely be in my CW video.
  9. Jeremy Reid's Backyard Coaster and Blue Flash are probably the two most famous backyard coasters. A person was making a backyard roller coaster on thrillnetwork, but I don't know what happened to it.
  10. I have a question: I distinctly remember an Auto Donut making machine at a Canadian park - featured in TPR's 2003 DVD, but I can't remember which park it was at. Was it at MarineLand, CW, or somewhere else?
  11. I think it was within the last 24 hours, it was some random comedian that I don't know who that person is. Although that was only for a few minutes. The last time I saw a full show on Comedy Central was a few months ago - Jeff Dunham - Arguing With Myself - freaking hilarious. (I don't watch Comedy Central a lot, I'm satisfied with Discovery Channel, Military Channel, Food Network, History Channel, occasional WGN, some Nickelodeon, etc.) When was the last time you ate a donnut? (Please tell what type of Donut it is, too.)
  12. I have a question mainly geared toward Robb/Elissa: I was curious as to why we "normal" TPRers can not make our own user title. I don't see anything wrong with having the ability to have a custom user title ability, and I can't imagine it being extremely difficult to program it, as virtualyl every other site I have visited has that ability. (Although I'm going to be a structural/amusement ride engineer, not a programmer, so I have no idea how hard that really is.)
  13. When you say Timber Tower is down a lot, do you mean something similar to Deja Vu (almost never running) or is it more on and off operation, so therefore still able to get a ride in a short (in terms of operating hours) mid October day?
  14. Probably because it's easier to paint the small and tiny pieces before the full train is constucted. I have no idea what the smallest piece is, but I'm assuming that it would be pretty freaking hard to paint a small wheel gray with any sized paintbrush, without accidentally painting part of the wheel assembly that color as well when you wanted the wheel assembly to be black. I think that this model will be completed. This is kind of (ok, very vaguely) like my RCT3 project Adventure Gardens. It's going to take freaking forever to complete it, (trying to make varied futuristic/realistic structures is challenging when you try to keep the park from looking random) as it has already taken a year and a half, simply because it is so hard to think of stuff. But I WILL finish it. I know I haven't worked on it since the last update, but I have plans for Dueling LIM coasters, a drifting coaster, that weird coaster that has the vertical turning track (maybe, I'm not entirely sure because the trains seem kinda "old style") a Vekoma Tilt Coaster that goes underground, and much more. So, in other words, although these projects are highly detailed and are extremely challenging, they will get done one way or another.
  15. Ok, I have a question that wasn't answered yet on my Dollywood tips thread (the thread looks dead) - how reliable are these rides on a regular basis? Do they run worse in different weather conditions?
  16. dr.gumbo, I have an idea. I'm a member of a bunch of other sites (coasterfuel, thrillnetwork, wnycoasters) what if I bring it to those sites and see if they can finish it up? It will probably be the first multi-site Track Tennis that I have seen.
  17. That NL Video is actually Fire Dragon @ Lagoon as it has the Additional Trackway Curve in the Second Carousel. Here is a Video of the Doppel Looping in Question. Yoshi, It's Too bad Dorney doesn't run Laser as good as Lagoon Does. But still, it would be a shame if Laser was Removed. - Sid Dang, and I thought that Laser was freaking amazing. -Tanks "Lagoon just went up on my priority of parks list" 4me05. But Laser is an amazing ride. Why get rid of it?
  18. After reading kraen613's PTR of Dollywood, I am slightly concerned about the reliability of the rides at DW. How often do the rides break down?
  19. My next park - the first for the season. For an Honors Society trip, I will be going to DL. Let's hope that MotoCoaster is open by the end of May.
  20. Double post for advertisational purposes. In other words: WE NEED MORE PEOPLE!
  21. I know. If he downloads all the CS on that German site, it will take days. There's a few gigs worth there.
  22. I finished my element. It is a low to the ground turn to make room for one of my other signature elements - the Reverse Corkscrew Roll. 2008_track_tennis_598_254_102_1__177-002.nltrack
  23. Darn. Well, if you ever take a trip to NY and go to MFI, DL, Seabreeze, MarineLand, PCW, etc. make sure you go out of your way to get to Sylvan Beach. As my home park, I am happy to say that the park is a safe haven for old rides - from companies like W.F. Mangels, Hrubetz, Eli Bridge, (if they count) Eyerly, and even one of the last (or maybe even last) remaining original Pretzel Dark Ride. They just got a Rotor that was completed soon after the park closed for 2007 and I will ride it in July or August, and a Mini Golf Course. Within 5 to 10 years they plan to add 14 new rides, including Parasailing, a high capacity speed boat, and even a Double Ferris Wheel. They have a crap load of games, including Fascination. Plus, about a 3 - 5 minute walk away from the nearby playground that's next to the Mini golf course is Eddie's restaurant - a cool restaurant founded in the 1930's, and even still has a Soda Booth thing. The deserts look really good, but I never tried them. Sure their only coaster is and SDC Galax, but you get some nice air in the back (those drops are steep, yaknow) and IMO the place looks awesome at night. -Tanks "Full Fledged Sylvan Beach Enthusiast" 4me05.
  24. Additional comment: Try to look at some other Flying Turns pics, like the old ones or even Knoebels to get at least somewhat of an idea of realism - I'd say keep the ride around 50 - 65 feet tall - and make sure that a station is put on it - assuming this model's station was finished. But the queue line stuff looks nice - I'd suggest to keep that.
