I just don't understand why the hell people still complain about DL no matter what is done to it to make it better. DL has a HUGE of potential, PARC realizes it (unlike Six Flags, Inc.) and now they are not only just adding rides here and there that are needed (instead of plopping down a used waterslide in a drained lake which now the land plot that it sits on looks like mud), they are even fixing up the park to a respectable condition. Heck, the Giant Wheel has gotten a refurb over the winter. This is the first roller coaster that Darien Lake has gotten since I was SIX YEARS OLD, and not only is it the first on the continent (Pony Express won't open until 5-24) it is a family coaster that Darien Lake DESPERATELY needs. I am getting extremely tired of people shitting all over Darien Lake despite the fact that PARC is cleaning it up, and the rest of upstate New York for that matter.[/rant] -Tanks "One of the very few times I will EVER curse on the internet, I'm just getting pissed" 4me05.

Castle Rock Park [RCT2]
Tanks4me05 replied to thomas2's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I really like the concept, however, your perimeter wall around the castle should be a bit more detailed, it's just a wall. Maybe you should make it "thicker", it just looks fake with the wall being so thin. It would be a lot better by simply adding in a single wide path on the inside and adding in a second interior wall, and then a stairway for the guests to get up there. -
The Sky Snake.... (NL)
Tanks4me05 replied to Rocket Rodder's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I like the layout and the trains are cool colors (I have almost the exact same coloration for one of my Floorless coasters on my computer for NL) but I would degress about the track colors. -
Lake Compounce Discussion Thread
Tanks4me05 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think Lake Compounce is a great family park. I didn't see much that made the day boring. Sure the chairlift was closed, but there was still Boulder Dash. Holy crap that ride is amazing. -
If you owned your home park (s)...

^I know it's how you would run BGA, but do you think taking out seven rides and two food stalls for one roller coaster is a good idea? They only have about 17 - 20 rides, so that's over a third of their rides. Let's put this in a different view: Would you support Cedar Point for taking out over half of their flat rides and Wildcat or even Corkscrew for another Intamin? -
Moreys Piers Discussion Thread
Tanks4me05 replied to LcHg5265's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It would be awesome if all of the SLC's were retrofitted with the new trains. Sure, it would cost a lot, but at probably about $200,000 per train, it would cost about $15.5 million for giving new trains for every SLC out there (39 - I'm counting all models of the SLC). Sure, $15.5 million is a lot for new trains, but turning 39 bad rides to good rides for the price of 2 SLC's and a flat ride is a good bargain, IMO, and that is spread out across 39 parks. And some of those rides are smooth already, so some of them will be great rides. Heck, maybe with a smoother ride, maybe all of them will be great, because SLC's do have good and intense layouts, those trains are just badly designed, and now they modified them to be better. -
Floorless Coasters....Great or Hype?
Tanks4me05 replied to ChrisFL's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is a great addition, but the car type means absolutely nothing, the layout is what counts. Sure, no floorless coaster is my #1, but if the layout was better, they could be, like if they had multiple 5.2G moments or higher. -
TPR's Indiana Beach Video!
Tanks4me05 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can definitely say that I'm looking forward to Behemoth Bash after seeing this video. Congrats R&E, in regards to the fact that the Coaster Expedition Series is now entering the double digits! I'd say that Coaster Expedition is probably the longest lasting and most successful coaster video collection of all time. -
In my German class, we are told to do powerpoints about a certain German holiday. Luckily, I got Oktoberfest. So, to provide some extra info in my powerpoint, I am to request pictures and info rom those who have traveled to Munich's Oktoberfest recently - the oldest pictures I will accept are from 2004. I thank all of thee for your compliance in advance.

It's drop, turn, hill, helix, straight bit, hill, straight bit, helix, bunny hops. My god, and you used to live 30 minutes away from DL. I live just over 2 hours away. But anyway, the first time I ride RoS for the day, the drop is freaking amazing, but afterwards, I don't get much airtime. Weird. And that happens every time. But overall the airtime is really fun, and trust me, as I have been on SFNE's S:RoS I know what airtime is. The helices I agree are huge, but they are forceful. Especially if you lean in the opposite direction that the helix is heading (lean right for helix 1, lean left for helix 2.) I agree RoS is not in my top ten, but it's close and it really is a lot better than most people say it is, and besides, it was Intamin's first Hyper Coaster, so you got to give them credit as it is just a test coaster, and even then it ranks pretty high on the polls. -

It's not the type of track that's the problem, it's how the track is put together and how tightly (in Vekoma's case, not tightly) the wheels are on the track. That means more shaking, and to top it off, most of their Overhead Restraints are rather hard, making it quite painful. Deja Vu is a newer Vekoma, so that one is smoother, and although I have never been on a Deja Vu clone (yet) I have been on several Vekomas, including two of their infamous SLCs (one was only moderately painful, and the other one which was strangely infamous for its pain was so smooth I almost put it in my top ten steel) and 5 of the 6 Boomerangs in the North East (all of them I find are quite fun, kinda rough, but really not that bad.) Personally, I think Vekoma isn't as bad as people say it is, I really think that the vast majority of the people on here are VERY pampered and thinking that anything rougher than glass smooth is not enjoyable. I am not one of those people. Jeez, everyone! Get tougher! Anyway, I think those parks are actually pretty nice, save for the second park's drained pond thing. The dust storm made them look kinda dumpy, but it wasn't the park's fault. Next time someone posts a TR during a clear day, it will most likely look a lot better. -
Jykkiland [rct3]
Tanks4me05 replied to JKLer's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Welcome to TPR, JKLer, and enjoy your stay. Here is the main place for custom scenery downloads: http://www.rct-theme-world.de/rct-liste/complete-list.htm But beware, there is A LOT (thousands) of custom scenery packs, so if you want to download them all, it will require a few gigabytes and several days of constant downloading. But in the end, you will have a crap load of custom scenery to work with, giving a heck of a lot of potential to make parks for. For your first park this is very good and uses a large amount of scenery items for a beginner. The roller coaster is quite interesting, too. I think it just needs to be a bit more detailed with a good station and it's colors should be changed. Otherwise it's great! -

Jeez! This thing reminds me of Avalanche, Legend, Voyage, Raven, Boulder Dash and Magnus Colossus (in a good way) at the same time, although I have never been on any of those coasters. -
I had a dream that at least eight of my teeth fell out, maybe more. Weird. It was painless, they just fell out as if they were loose teeth. I think I had that dream a few times.

^Ruin the pacing? If you mean lack of speed, you are crazy, that thing pulls mad airtime on the bunny hops. If you mean lack of pacing as in lack of airtime, then I agree with you. All the hills provide airtime - the second hill gets floater and the rest are ejector, and I have been on SFNE's S:RoS so I know what airtime is, and this ride has about the same intensity of airtime as SFNE's version, except there aren't as many hills. -
Ok, here is a more "intelligent" attempt at a CW tips thread. Ok, I have a few questions: What are the best and worst seats for: Wild Beast Great Canadian Minebuster SkyRider What are the best seats for: Every other coaster Where is the best food? I know CF is not known for food unlike DW, but still... Where are the auto donut machines again? Anything else that I should be aware of that I haven't mentioned?

So, Paul, which would you decide that is better? Behemoth or DL's RoS? Please discount the flat section of track.
