Horrible Park Operations
Tanks4me05 replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SFNE. S:ROS. One train dispatched every five minutes. One train. What could have been a 25 - 45 minute line with two trains and good dispatching (1 - 1.5 minutes per train) it turned into a 2.5 hour wait - longer than my TTD wait, and officially the longest I ever waited in line for any ride in my entire life. The ride itself is freaking amazing, though. -
^But doesn't Europe have more of a mass transit infrastructure to offset that (or is that just Germany?) and besides, you guys have a way more valuable currency than us right now. America seems to have cars being used a lot more frequently than most places, so I guess it would even out. But I don't care, when I get my first car, it will be from Tesla Motors. (Not their $90,000 sports car, they will have a few purely electric affordable cars in a few years.)

You shouldn't have a problem. With 2.5 hour waits on S:ROS when I went (which could have been 45 minutes if those ride ops hadn't dispatched a train every five minutes and used one train) I still rode every coaster and major flat ride. It shouldn't be a problem there. I did everything in Lake Compounce in about three or four hours. And this was during a pouring rain/thunderstorm. Yeah, every single ride, even their 180 foot tall S&S Drop Tower was running in a thunderstorm. Just remember to bring swimming goggles on Boulder Dash in case it rains. I asked the ride ops and they said yes, but the rain cleared up. And that was in mid August. I also had a mini unofficial ERT on B:TDK (a good four consecutive runs, three front, one back) right before SFNE closed. Also, Mind Eraser is actually really good! I honestly don't understand why, but that ride is actually quite painless and very fun! It's ranking on my coaster list is about 13 - 17, and I have been on 85. (OCC: MotoCoaster is going to be credit 100 and I should get to 105 if we go to Dollywood for our Marching Band competition in October, if the gas prices don't get too high.)

Only two people at a time will be over the tree tops on Screamer, they honestly can't make that much noise... they are right next to a freaking freeway, and so what if they can see into the guy's back yard? No one would even care! Besides, there are MANY paths in my neighborhood that go right up to people's backyard, and sure a few have private property signs, but no one's suing just because they can see their backyard. -Tanks "This is like not being allowed to eat while you are in a restaurant" 4me05.

Hey, I remember playing Ave Maria for a Brass Ensemble concert last year! That was a really awesome piece! But dang, Galop is hard. I feel sorry for the trumpet with the solo nearing the 2 minute mark. For some reason it reminded me of the Infernal Dance of King Kashchei from the Firebird Suite, even though they are entirely different.

[RCT2] Six Flags Hollywood
Tanks4me05 replied to lasgo5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Dang, there have been a lot of great RCT2/3 designers here lately, and you are no exception! Dieses ist einen ausgezeichneten Freizeitpark. -Tanks "my Adventure Gardens is still under construction, it's just hard to make a restaurant over the top of the tiliting section of an underground Vekoma Tilt Coaster " 4me05. -

Can you elaborate as to what this waterslide does? But dang, this is a really nice park! It seems to be quite successful and with all that terrain they could make some large, kick butt coasters. A shuttle waterslide?! -
^ Your grammar is getting hard to read. I understand you are foreign, but it's really hard to understand.

^^I hope they will test it before the end of June/early July, which is when I will go. It isn't listed as SBNO on rcdb, so hopefully it won't be closed. Speeddeamon, Wild Mouse (ironically) always has the longest lines in the park. But what is weird is that Wild Mouse got a 40 minute wait just days after opening day, when I almost never get a line over 25 minutes when I go, which is usually a week or less before the 4th of July. (I can often catch walk-ons or near walk-ons for several of the coasters.) But, yes, it is a weak Wild Mouse. They have those stupid trims on too hard. CoasterEricHP, Hercules = awesome. I admit the first three (and only three) times I rode it were when I was ten, and I didn't pay attention to roughness that much, or I caught it on a good day. Although it was in its last season of operation, I didn't find it painful at all, and it was nice and fast, but I hadn't ridden anything of that size prior, so I didn't have much else to compare it to. -

I don't understand why people think DP is crap. The rides are fun, and the atmosphere is great - very relaxing, riding stuff that is very fun, very little lines at all, just a fun day. So, how was Hydra? (BTW, Hercules=awesome.) Thunderhawk? Rough? Yeah, it was prevented from being a freaking awesome ride because of the trims at the end, but otherwise, it's really fun. Laser... closed. Dang, that ride kicks butt. For some reason, Schwarzkopf rides are more forceful in the front. -
This dream was from a few years ago, but still it was really cool: I had a dream I was at the NY State Fair at the area where the go karts are (it's just a boring oval with Stock Cars) and there was a ride with a Disko "ring" (the entire ring of seats) but it spun like a Scrambler, (there was only one arm) and it tilted outwards 90 degrees. In fact, that ride is so cool, I am still remembering it so I can make it on Inventor. Yes, a ride I saw in my dreams was actually feasible, and pretty freaking awesome, too. Also, there was a (huge, probably 120 - 130 foot tall) Chance Double Inverter that had freely swinging Gondolas.

New Theme Park announced in Germany!
Tanks4me05 replied to ivi707's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmmm, would Jews (like me) be allowed in the park? I assume it would be open to everyone from a business standpoint, but these biblical parks are not exactly common and I have absolutely no idea how they run. Then again, with the whole Christian thing, I would probably feel slightly uncomfortable being there, and kind of an outsider. What I am about to say is in NO WAY intended to insult anyone that is Christian. I am simply stating my views on Christianity and potentially starting up a discussion point, even though this is kinda off topic. The messages that Christianity is trying to bring about in being all nice and stuff I agree with, but IMO for the people who have the "Praise Jesus for everything! Jesus will help us and save us and do everything for us and he is the creator of this world and evolution is a lie and I'm so worried about my afterlife I have absolutely no idea how to live in this one and you should convert!" mentality are kind of... unsettling. Besides, especially with the whole crusades thing and missionaries, it seems to me that Christianity is a little militaristic. I'm not saying that Christianity is bad, as it's the dominant religion on this planet (beats out Islam by about 700 million people) but with their extensive history of... for a lack of a better term... forcing people to convert to Christianity and "showing them the light" or whatever term is used is IMO disrespectful of their own culture and their own religion. Let them live how they want to live. Ok, I admit that I am a "cultural" Jew - one that mainly just observes the major holidays and not much else, so even for Judaism, I am not that religious. One thing about Christianity I don't understand is that Priests are sworn to celibacy. I would assume that God would want his children to survive as succesfully as possible, so why would reproducion, not only a basic and natural need, but also 100% neccessary for our survival, be considered a sin? Why would pleasure be considered a sin? I would understand if it hurts someone or yourself in some form or another, but anthing else, I just don't get it. The way I see life is this: If you are born on this world, you should live life to its fullest, and live that way as successfully and as happily as possible, although while helping others, keeping your own life happy and rich with excitement and fun. Also, I support abortion. It should be the mother's choice, as she is the one who is giving birth. Sure, all life is precious, but if the mother and father can't handle the responsibilities of being a parent, should that child still live and have a highly troubled life filled with frequent drug problems, law problems, or even worse? This brings me to another point: Does god even exist? Religion had started tens of thousands of years ago. Back then, we had no scientific understanding of the world, so we had to find answers to our world around us elsewhere: Why does the sun rise? Because the sun god is waking up. Why do thunderstorms occur? Because the gods are angry with us. We have almost no proof that our world was created by god, save for those freak moments that oneself was healed miraculously from a highly fatal disease, and those episodes on The Exorcist, (which I doubt those episdodes are real.) Also, why are there so many views on how life was created? When people say God created the universe, it seems they account for the universe and EVERYTHING in it, including those who aren't of that religion. But those of a different religion have different views of different god (s) creating the universe in different ways. Was there really one single god that created our universe, but different humans perceived this god (s) in different ways (which we have no proof of, and frankly this is something that I have thought of) or is God simply a figment of our species extensive imagination? We have much evidence about the big bang and evolution, but almost nothing reputable in anywhere else. Again, this is not meant to offend anybody, this is just my view of the world. To each his own, and this is my own. -
How big is that Skycoaster? It looks HUGE! (Maybe it isn't that big, it just looks like that to me.) Anyway, I really liked this video, although you could have filmed from a few extra vantage points. South America isn't really talked about a lot on the internet in terms of roller coasters. BTW, the roller coasters in this amusement park are actually very common throughout the world, the statistics were not needed. Also, the bold text was a little annoying/hard to read for some reason. But otherwise, nice video!

Alaska..no amusement parks?
Tanks4me05 replied to cathyJ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You know, there are these things called indoor amusement parks. Seeing as they have rides as large as Mind Bender at Galaxy Land, that shows you can fit some pretty big stuff in an indoor park. Plus, has anyone ever thought of building an underground amusement park? You could go about this two ways: 1: Build a giant underground "cave" where everything is visible. 2: The cheaper way: Build everything as a network of tunnels. Everything will be dark rides, but you will have almost no off ride film opportunities. Kind of like how Oblivion is built underground. Hawaii is pretty small, but if there is a couple of hundred acres on just one of the islands, there is huge potential, seeing as the terrain is pretty mountainous for some of the islands. -

What I would like to reiterate is the question why hasn't an Intamin Hyper been built in a while? There is still a market for Hypers, and Intamin makes some freaking insane hypers, so why aren't they being built? They are about as expensive as B&M Hypers. -

BRTeller, you said that Fahrenheit had some pacing problems in one of your captions. Can you elaborate? -
^Actually, we didn't go. We are in Central NY, and I don't think we did anything out of state. If we did, it definitely wasn't Wildwood, because I would have heard about it. But still, Baldwinsville is better , and in most of the competitions we were in, we placed 1st. EDIT: Holy crap that's a lot of food.
-
Baldwinsville Marching Band is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. For our winter drumline, we had a show themed to a day at the emergency room. It was awesome! (I'm in the Marching Band, and I play Sousaphone, so I'm not in Drumline, but I saw a "pseudo preformance" during our March combined concert.) Anyway, nice TR. But seriously, Baldwinsville is better.

I'm not in a band, but I'm starting to compose music. My first piece I composed (so far, only, but I have ideas for several more) is a 4.5 minute Tuba solo named Ardency. It was created to show that the Tuba can play nice stuff, and it was conveyed VERY well. Every single person who heard it (my band teacher asked me to preform it in a multi-school plus some adult groups brass ensemble concert) said it was very good, and this was all made by a 14 year old. (I know I'm 15, but I was still 14 when I finished it.) Several full concert pieces are in mind, and will take time, but they will be made. They have names like: Wait...What? The Dark Waltz By You I Stand Fafnir the Dragon God Left Side, Right Side

Dogwood Lake Park
Tanks4me05 replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^If you meant physical length of the queue, then yes. If you meant actual wait, it almost always is unless it's a walk on. Anyway, HOLY CRAP! For a first park, this is freaking amazing! -

Piraten looks awesome, but I hope Intamin will make another full sized hyper. Luckily there's still a market for hypers, given Behemoth was just built, so hopefully another full Hyper will be made.
