  1. Hey, what about Adventure Gardens? Sure, it's quite a ways away from completion, but you gotta mention me, yaknow...
  2. Hmmm, I remember this wooden coaster that had GCII Millennium Flyers, (one car per train, Wild Mouse style) but it was freaking huge. It was themed to, well, a Mine. There was another coaster that I remember that was themed to Hell, with the same train configuration, and it kind of reminded me of Lost Coaster at Superstition Mountain. There is also Timber Rattler, a 20,000+ft long hyper terrain wooden coaster that I remember VERY well from 2004 - the longest NL coaster I have seen in history. It had a ride time of over 8 minutes, and required a lift to get back into the station. There is also the New River Gorge series by Trackwalker, where he used a recreation of a Georgian Gorge as the terrain, and his designs were often racing wooden coasters that required large lifts to get up - the coasters (wood) had often reached speeds of over 100 mph on the largest drops - he even made a few steel coasters as well. Some of them may have been at coasterfuel.com but that's all I can remember.
  3. Enough? Ha! No place, not even Dubai, could EVER have enough parks! We could very easily spend over a week in Dubai alone visiting JUST parks at this rate. That's pretty good for one city, if I do say so myself. That's enough to begin to rival Tokyo in terms of sheer "park density."
  4. Edward, how much can DivX potentially compress the video? Let's say I want to get a 9 minute video (8 minutes and 36 seconds to be exact) to 40 megs - compressing it to around 1/3 of its current size, which is a little over 130 MB. Also, how do I use the system? This is what I do: First I try to use the Codec program, but the Ciodec Program can only compress DivX files, so I use the converter. I drag and drop my .AVI video into the converter but it says that the video contains an invalid stream. But I downloaded it from a site I uploaded it to. (I deleted the original file to save space.) So, do I have to actually buy the program for it to work, or am I not using this program correctly? So in other words: is there any way I can compress an approximately 131 MB video to TPR's 40 MB video size limit?
  5. I'm pretty sure there's no minimum on how long your track section should be, and you don't have to make track, you know. But as for the multi-color question, I have no idea.
  6. Comet - TGE Nickname: Magician's Hill Location on ride: Second hill after first elevated turnaround. Reason for freaking awesomeness: It looks like its just an ordinary camelback, but it isn't. The way the track has warped from aging, there are three "pumps" in the crest of the hill. But those pumps are not painful in any way. So, instead of receiving three jolts of pain, you get three moments of airtime - while going over the top of ONE hill, which is why I call it the Magician's Hill. Nickname: G Hill Location: Third to last hill of ride, if the climb into the station counts. Reason for freaking awesomeness: Going over the hill at a high speed and with the bend in the track, not only do you experience major airtime, but you experience intense laterals as well. Boulder Dash - Lake Compounce Nickname: S Bend Hill Location: Second hill of ride Reason for awesomeness: It's like a double mirrored S Bend, and it's a hill, and it's got airtime. So combine airtime with unqiue twisty moments, and you got yourself an awesome element.
  7. Hang On - Smash Mouth.
  8. Wow. Even when the MCBR almost makes the train stop completely, the ride STILL seems to have moderately good airtime! Actually, the trims look like they need to stay on. Obviously not to the point that it is right now, but leaving off the MCBR might be a bad idea, It looks like that if the MCBR was left off, the airtime would probably make it FAR more painful than SOB. Although I am currently in Central NY, so I have absolutely no idea how much airtime it has. I'm just making guesses from that video.
  9. Update! I asked the park's owner what this empty concrete slab is for, and he said that a Sky Ride will go there once more of the park is developed, so he knows where in the park the other station will be. I see that we have a new snack bar - this one called simply called Super Snacks. Here is the back of Super Snacks. And here's another view of Super Snacks. What the heck is this? Ohhhhh, it's a Tea Cups ride, built in a (quite cool looking) pit. the owner wanted a unique name for this odd ride so he called it Semi Subterranean Twirler. There was a large ladder lying around, so I used it to climb on top of the ride's "sub roof" so I could get a better view of the stuff inside. The park's owner was watching in case I might have done something stupid. Still on the sub roof, this is a pic of the entrance and exit ramps. Here we are, looking at Semi Subterranean Twirler from ground level. I heard that paths might be added around the rim of the pit for observational purposes. Here's another shot of Blue Thunder, just because this B&M is so awesome.
  10. My part of the track is finished - it's my signature element, the Warped Immelmann, disorienting unique and forceful - the inversion of the future. I use the Warped Immelmann in many of my steel coasters. It's essentially the watermark for my rides. (The "Chaos Red" track is my color - I named it that as it is a custom color on one of my NL projects I made called Chaos, it's mainly red with a subtle mix of orange.) 2008_track_tennis_598_254_138.nltrack
  11. Would it be possible that you guys could organize some more of these "day trips"? It is not really expensive, so for those who can't afford it, they can still get the super random and crazy and fun TPR experience and not have to spend a crap load of money. Although I DEFINITELY am planning to go on at least one of your larger trips during my college years. (2011 - 2016, maybe to 2018 if my job requires a Masters Degree.)
  12. Holy crap. That's all I can say. Holy crap. -Tanks "A Korea trip has just been dramatically increased in the list of priorities for foreign coaster trips that I will do in the future" 4me05.
  13. This is... sad. I simply do not understand. With the looks of it, if you have more than a dozen parks, the decision quality seems to go WAYYYYYYYYYY down to crap. (I'm going to call this "Big Park Chain Syndrome.") Does it really help with maintenance to place the ride forwards? Besides, if most people complain that the forwards version is rougher, (which could mean more money for maintenance) why switch to a potentially more expensive and less satsifying option? It just doesn't make sense. Imagine that Montu and Manhattan Express were in the same park, and Montu cost the same amount of money and has lower "operation" costs, AND is more popular, but Montu is torn down, even though it is more popular, AND is cheaper. It doesn't make sense. -Tanks "wow, Cedar Fair is really turning to something that comes out of a " 4me05.
  14. Which part of this didn't make sense to you: Obviously if we are telling you we will have pricing details soon, IT WILL COST SOMETHING! Please. Read before you post. --Robb How the heck did I do that? I read the entire thread before I replied - three times! I'm serious, I try as hard as I can to make sure that I read the whole thread. -Tanks "Why the heck do I keep doing this!?" 4me05.
  15. During my Tuba Lesson, I overheard my teacher talking about hotels in Gatlinburg, so I asked if we are going to Dollywood along with the Marching Band trip, and she said yes, so I'm going to Dollywood for the first time. (I live in Central New York.) So, we are going to go in early October, so I have a few questions: 1: How bad are the lines in early October? (I'd say anywhere form the beginning of the month to a few days after Columbus Day - I don't know specifically what day we are going.) - I looked at their schedule, and it said that the park is closed on Thursdays in October, so I will let her know about that on Monday. 2: What are the best places to eat? I know the park is extremely famous for its food, so I need to know what's the best. 3: What are the best seats on Thunderhead and Tennessee Tornado? 4: Are there any good "secret" film and/or photo spots that anyone knows about from their own trips?
  16. Holy...freaking...crap... THAT'S FREAKING AMAZING! Lincow, what is that really big under construction dragon theming for? (In the last pic.) -Tanks ":omg: " 4me05.
  17. I may have never gone to California before, but I saw plenty of pictures and videos, and GG looks amazing! But sadly, the place needs some thrill rides. Even a custom Maurer Söhne creation (Booster or Xtended SC) would be nice - relatively cheap and effective and can potentially be themed very well. (The small track guage of the Spinning coaster can make it easier in terms of removing trees and stuff, and a terrain spinning coaster would actually be very awesome.) I hope that this park will keep running. Despite the lack of thrills, I have this as a high priority visit for my super huge West Coast/Central/South America trip I have been planning for my post College Years (I'll graduate high school in 2011 - yes these super trips are still a ways away.)
  18. My definition of crap in this case is forceless, which is what people constantly complain Hydra to be. B:TR, I'm simply more curious of what the G force readings of that are, just because. IMO, 3.8 G's is moderately forceful. Here is my basis of what is forceful: 1 - 2.9 G's (Kiddie Coasters mostly)=forceless 3 - 4.9 G's=(Seemingly most roller coasters) moderately forceful 5 G's and up=intense (Vekoma Boomerangs pull 5.2 G's and Tower of Terror at Gold Reef City in South Africa pulls a freaking 6.3 G's! I bet Worm is happy to have bragging rights of most forceful coaster on the planet.) Oh, could you do all the New York State parks (Seabreeze and DL?) I was curious specifically how intense they are. EDIT: Wow, B:TR has a 2.5 lateral G spike? That's well into the red G range in NL, I gues I will slightly lessen up my G restrictions when I rate people's NL rides.
  19. What are the G Forces of Hydra and B:TDK/B:TR? People say they are weak, but rcdb lists Dominator at only 3.8 G's (what people say one of the best B&M floorless coasters) - not exactly forceful. People say Hydra is weak and slow, but it isn't. Plus, people say that B:TDK/B:TR is just plain bad, but that's in my top 10 steel - it's mroe forceful in the front anyway. (The back seat is the roughest, but I can hardly call that rough, just rough by the standards of B&M.) So, basically, I'm requesting possible evidence that Hydra and B:TDK/B:TR aren't crap. (Check my location in my profile thing on the side of this post and you will know why I am asking this.) I looked at rcdb, DP's and SFNE's main website and found nothing. Does anyone else know?
  20. ^ Wait, he was wearing a "Page Cannot Be Found" T-Shirt?
  21. I would obviously spend a few days in the major cities to see the "normal" tourism stuff, but I would go to Israel, Kuwait and Lebanon as well as UAE. So I'm not the only one who cares about that thing? I was going to call it the Vertical Donut Hotel, but Sideloop is still a good name. When Palm was constructed, Scuba Divers (for surveying the underwater portion of the construction) found that the rocks and stuff they placed in the water for Palm Island actually acted as anchors for coral to take hold. These artificial islands are not destroying marine life, they are letting it thrive. You know how people sink old Battleships and old war planes to make artificial reefs, well, this is kind of the same thing, only on a much bigger scale, and the whole "Man Made Reef" thing was an unintentional bonus in revenue (Scuba Diving next to and around the reef.) Busch Gardens Dubai may not be that large, but if you take a look at BGA, they really didn't need all that land with the small amount of rides they have. If Busch Gardens Dubai will have the same amount of rides as BGA, it is actually a good size. You have to walk A LOT to get between Montu and Gwazi.
  22. Dang, high ranking officials actually care about us enthusiasts! Maybe I would be Holiblogged for Holiday World's newest attraction for 2025: A Strata Thrills Company wooden coaster. (Semi joke.) -Tanks "Paula, why don't you post more often on here? - just wondering cuz you are all kinda famous and stuff amongst us enthusiasts" 4me05.
  23. Wait, Robb, exactly how mny parks had you brought Kristen to? -Tanks "I might actually see Kristen in person at DL and MFI if my mom wants to drive me as its right after a 12 hour Marching Band party/super rehearsal and I am already going to DL once this year, oh and Kristen is one lucky kid to go on multiple continents just for amusement parks before she can even say roller coaster" 4me05.
  24. ^Uhh, are you referring to Robb's post with the March 20th thing, (for the record that's three posts above) or your post, in which I don't see how your second yelling at me could be relevant, as I had not asked for what day he was going to announce it (in referrence to your post.)
