Project Brennen
Tanks4me05 replied to Tanks4me05's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^So? It would probably only be about $50,000 to $100,000 extra. Not that much. If not, then use some steel pipes - but it's only 53 feet above the ground. -

Ok, I have been working on it for a while now, and I have over 2,000 feet of track finished. The name has been revealed: Holzfeuer Meaning: German for "Timber Fire" (Someone correct me if I'm wrong - I've been learning German for only a year and a half) Ok, jetzt Ich habe ein paar bilder: Here is a view of the layout so far (about 170 feet tall.) Yep, that is an overbanked curving Double Drop you are seeing. (120 degree banking.) You'll like this - it's taken quite fast. -
My god, your school district is screwed up. Almost all of my band friends are in honors classes. (I'm in honors Global.) Heck, almost all of my "good band friends" are in Marching Band. Me, in the chance I haven't replied here before, I have been playing the Tuba for about four and a half years. I had a 95 on my level 5 NYSSMA solo last year, made all county three or four times, and I'm in Marching Band. (I'm doing a level 5 solo again this year.)

No Limits 2?

^^^ To have the smae experience, go into "fly by" mode, and just "sit" about 6 - 8 feet to the left or right of the far end of the 4 seat train - I'd say right about next to the ride op's control panel - that's what I did for the B&M Dive Machine I made - to get the right feel of the ride. But you just won't be able to get accurate lateral G force readings that way. -
Florida Parks tips/advice?
Tanks4me05 replied to STR8FXXXINEDGE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Boomers: Very few people went to Boomers when I went last April, and the rides manager of the park was running DBH. He is really generous, and he even said that I could bring my video camera on ride if I wanted to. (I didn't even ask, I just brought them for some "station shots".) You will probably get access to the service area to the right of DBH if you ask (I didn't because I didn't want to risk it, but another person on TPR asked and he was allowed.) Be sure to ride Blender, as the only major flat ride at the FEC - it is very fun, but be prepared that the ride might not operate. The first time I went, it was closed because its main frame was damaged in a hurricane, and the replacement parts were damaged during transit. The second time, the ride op wasn't there until a few minutes before I left. Oh, and there were some bees flying around the stairs, so if you are allergic, be careful. You have to purchase the ride tickets in the arcade building, even for the Go Karts. I didn't know that when I went, and it's a long walk from the Go Karts to the arcade building, so I spent a good fifteen minutes or more walking back and forth. But the Go Kart track is HUGE! DBH is worth the ride definitely, so do not miss this park. BGA: The lines weren't that bad when I went, Montu is definitely a back seat ride. Scorpion had the longest lines, but that was after it was broken down for the whole morning - at about an hour. Still, it's worth the wait. G's and airtime in the loop - something I didn't expect. I just thought "I was going to get G's. Montu is freaking insane. SheiKra is fun, but Montu is freaking insane. -

March 23, 2014. When was the last time you shot (legally) an automatic weapon? (Tell which gun it was.) -

A couple of weeks ago, during Math. (I personally love Math, it just is not at a good time of day - the morning.) When was the last time you did something really weird and made random people look at you funny? (Tell what you did also.) -
The Ugliest Building on Earth!
Tanks4me05 replied to Yankee cannonball's topic in Random, Random, Random
In terms of actual design, it's not that bad. But the choice of building materials is really what made this look bad. I would have used stainless steel and glass (I love that combonation.) along with other materials. -

^ Most of the Vekomas I have been on are actually good - and I have been on about a dozen throughout the North East USA and a few other places within the GMT-5 Timezone. For some reason, the "Vulcan" ride looks likea Vekoma Tilt Coaster. -

Without custom scenery, I can say that this is a pretty good park! This makes me want to play RCT3 again. -
Nürburgring launched coaster
Tanks4me05 replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Exactly. Try going nearly 200 mph on an airtime hill with no upstop wheels and your car will probably end up looking like a... well... wreck. I don't see this as a real roller coaster, as they are not truly advertising it as one, they are basically making a rather large version of test track as someone had previously stated. -
Disney expanding into Canada?
Tanks4me05 replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That would definately be interesting to see. I have been waiting for a true thrilling Disney park for a very long time. I'm up for this. I'm all for Disney's Villain Land. -
^The Puzzle Cube and Coffee Mug. Right now, I'm making a slingshot like device that shoots a Nerf Ball (a 1.75 inch projectile fired from some of the larger guns, not an actual sports ball) 15 feet into a recycling bin. So, it looks like even the projects are done the same. But although I know I don't have a lot of knowledge in terms of structural practicality, but each row of seats is connected to the 7 inch thick central plate by two slabs of (carbon fiber? metal? I haven't decided) that are two inches thick each, and are anchored 7 inches on to the central plate - and extend 3 feet on to the train. The red spinning system is bolted with 72 bolts - each 1 and 1/8 inches wide - to the black plate that holds the wheel assembly - which that plate is two inches thick. I will probably make the "wheel plate" thicker, and maybe extend the "row anchor plates" to 12 or 18 inches inward, but other than that, I think it's not that bad, considering this is my first "not for school" project on Inventor - and I have used this program for only three months now.

Maybe at wnycoasters you posted. Hopefully, if MFI and DL are done in the same day, I can do a meetup with the whoole gang on the Behemoth/Ravine Flyer II trip. (Definitely Seabreeze, too.) -

Robb and Elissa, my parents - even with the "installment plan" - aren't willing to spend the money for this trip. (Plus it comes in conflict with Marching Band - in missing even one rehearsal can be quite a hassle) but since I live in Central NY, and I go to DL and Seabreeze on a regular basis, what are the days that you plan to go to DL and Seabreeze? (Are you going to do other parks in the same days, as well?) -

I know it said all payments due by May 2008, but is there any way that these payments (exlcuding the $100 pre deposit) could be made in installments? I know it would take longer for you to receive the cash, however, for those who are not well off it would be a great way to still pay for the trip - potentially more people could join on these trips. -

The park, although freaking amazing, IMO needs to have something extra in the middle of the plaza, and I think that it also needs some "path coverings" (like Aceana's Pavement Essentials for example.) -
^^^ 1: From mid December to a few days ago - about a month and a half. I have been using this program since November - so I'm basically a noob. 2: VERY complicated. We in our Pre Engineering class (40 minute classes every day of the school week) were given tutorials on most of the basic and moderate tools that we would use for this year (we are only ninth graders - we don't need the really advanced stuff) and that took several weeks. (A nice amount of practice was included.) 3: It's a CAD program - if you ever used Google Sketchup (a free but not as good CAD program) it's rather similar to that. Oh, and here is the coaster layout I have in mind for the ride - I know the real car will have a lot of support and track hits, but it was designed specifically for the B&M Invert that is using this track: (NL.) Nevermind the pumping, it was rushed. (But, it is however intended to go to nearly 5 G's, and many of my other coasters go to 5.3 G's, very frequently, along with -1.6 airtime and 1.8 laterals.) 1 - Shuriken.nltrack

CGA's Flight Deck STRIKES BACK!!!
Tanks4me05 replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, if we TPRers and other forumers actuay had a say in this, I had no idea we had so much power. Anyway, yes I think Afterburn is far better than Flight Deck. But I think the title of this thread isn't the best because I thought CGA was demolishing Flight Deck/Afterburn.
