Ok, here's the situation: For the TPR trip, I'm trying to decide between CW and DL/MFI. Here is each scenario: CW: PROS: -I get to experience TPR in its full wackiness for the maximum amount of time (ERT on 6 coasters, including my first ever B&M Hyper: Behemoth.) -I never went to CW before. -Huss Jump Squared. -Intamin Gyro Drop (never went on one before.) CONS: -Longer drive and a 2 night stay as I live a good 4+ hours away from CW, therefore my mom doesn't want to do two "huge" trips in one year, therefore delaying my CP revisit to 2009 - I last went in 2004, so I will have to wait for Skyhawk, maXair, Maverick, (Woodstock Express, Gemini Blue and Power Tower Green because I didn't go on those) until 2009. I have been itching to go back to CP since I came back from CP... 4 years ago. -Almost all of CW's coasters are by mostly everyone's opinions are mediocre, save for Vortex, and Behemoth might be crap if the trims are used. DL/MFI: PROS: -I get to do meet up with the craziness of the TPRers. -It's about half the distance so I can do this in one day, therefore I still get CP, and I was planning to get CW in 2009, anyway. -I have yet to ride MFI's Full Tilt, and have yet to ride any type of Star Flyer, although I was trying to see what I can do with getting Magical Midway, the Universal Complex, and BGA for 2009. -I will get to wait a year for Behemoth's trains to "break themselves in." CONS: -I get no new credits. If MotoCoaster doesn't open by the time I go to DL for my honors society trip at the end of may, then I will have one new credit. -No ERT... on Behemoth, and I will have to wait to experience my first Togo Death Machine for another year. -No awesome Canadian flat rides. So, does anyone have any ideas?

The future of Animatronics?
Tanks4me05 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Holy crap! That thing has extremely lifelike leg movements. AND it's pretty hard to knock it down, it didn't completely slip on ice, a guy kicked it and it still stood... but all it needs is some quieter motors... then I can see it easily being used in combat on very rugged terrain. -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
Tanks4me05 replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Judging by the looks of the video alone, I am assuming that the ride will be mostly "flejector" air (more than floater, less than ejector) with some nice ejector on the bunny hops at the end. But the valleys will probably pull some REALLY nice positive G's. The back seat should get a nice prolonged set of airtime at the top of the lift, making the frist drop very good. But, on a side note, this proves the fact that coasters can be run in the snow, at least around 30 degrees - so that PROVES Darien Lake can run on my birthday. (March 23, and it rarely gets below freezing in late March for us people in Central New York, even.) -Tanks "I want to ride a roller coaster on my birthday" 4me05. -
Mass Effect - Xbox 360 - there is no set "level" as you can pretty much go anywhere you want. The plotline is similar to a choose your own adventure book - this is one RPG that you cna play MANY times in a row and get a different experience each time. This game kicks complete butt.

-The 2008 NL Tennis game-
Tanks4me05 replied to dr.gumbo's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
This ride is getting a little slow. To make this coaster last longer, someone better put in a boost, and soon. -
If you want a coaster built, ask me and I will build it! For NL or RCT3 only. If you have a version of NL older than 1.7, or if you don't have both RCT3 expansion packs, PLEASE TELL ME! Several of you should probably know that my Shurik Coaster has high acclaim among us TPRers, so I decided to make a spinoff on a couple of these new Coaster catalogs that have popped up for RCT2 and 3, and decided to use NL and RCT3. But, all the coasters are custom made, and will be created to your specific needs. It can be in a land plot area for a real park, a fake plot of land, whatever, just give me some restrictions and I will design away. Please note that my NL designs are not that smooth - they are hand built because NL Elementary is too confusing for me, but I only build for fun. That's it. You must also realize that I tend to build rides that are rather intense - my G limits I put upon myself for NL are +5.3 vertical, -1.6 airtime,, and +/-1.8 laterals.

If you owned your home park (s)...
Tanks4me05 replied to Tanks4me05's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ Two Chance Zippers, A Century Wheel, a second Bobsleds thing and a KMG Fireball? I know that's your opinion on the park, and I respect that, however, that is waaaaaaaay too carny for my tatstes. To each his own. -
Paramount's Fantasy World
Tanks4me05 replied to pkd freak's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Two things: 1: Is the airtime on the Rabbit tail just extreme, or is it more "unsafe"? 2: I know you are keeping it low for FPS reasons, but could you turn up your graphics settings? It's driving me crazy. I'm not detracting kudos, I'm just kinda annoyed by it, it's a bit of a pet peeve for me. Otherwise, I really like this park a lot. Keep it up! -
Sylvan Beach: (TIME OBJECTIVE NOT SPECIFIED): General fix ups: -Bomber's and Scrambler's fences are kinda warped and it looks like something recently ran into the fence next to the Super Slide (when I went to the park on December 31, 2007 to take some pictures.) I'd repair those fences. -Give Galaxi, Tip Top, and the management offices some new paint. -There are a few (small) patches of cracked pavement near where the bulk of the large flat rides are. I'd repair those. Ride additions: (Done purely to "complete" the old park feel - essentially turning the place into the ultimate working old ride museum on the planet: -W.F. Mangels Fire Trucks (from the SBNO Indian Park) -Possibly a Dartron Hurricane -Eyerly Loop - O - Plane (Miracle Strip's model if that still exists - if not, I'll try to buy the one off of Keansburg.) -Hrubetz Round Up Person Model -Possibly a Grover Watkins Tempest -W.F. Mangels Whip - if none available, I'll make an in house version. -Chance Zipper -90 foot tall GCII twister in the (ripped up and nice looking plot of grass put in place) parking lot behind Galaxi. -Molina and Sons Kiddie Coaster. -Sky Ride. Seabreeze: (NO TIME FRAME SPECIFIED): I would rip up the parking lot next to the waterpark for a nice amount of room, and make a long and skinny parking lot in the back road that is behind the waterpark. Right next to Whirlwind (where the edge of Quantum Loop's queue was) is a small plot of land that can snugly fit an A.R.M. Drop Tower right there. (Or a clone of Old Town' drop tower, which I heard from someone that was even better than Cypress Gardens' drop tower, and IMO that was FREAKING INSANE!) That ripped up parking lot would have room for a Maurer Söhne booster like Formule X, but about 80 feet tall. I would also add some rides over there, too. Darien Lake: Darien Lake Plans.doc

Is anybodys home park their favorite?
Tanks4me05 replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sylvan Beach - 45 minutes away - Yes. Reason: It's a safe haven for old rides - I saw collections from W.F. Mangels, Eyerly, Eli Bridge, Hrubetz, one of the VERY few original Pretzel Dark rides remaining (since 1954 - all but two of the "stunts" in the ride are original) and is plannign to get a dozen new attractions in the next five to ten years. They just got a new Chance Rotor and are planning to get a Double Ferris Wheel. Seabreeze - 90 minutes away - Very close to the top, but not quite. It has a GREAT atmosphere, I just love the small park feel to it, but it needs a good thrilling ride. Something that's not too expensive and unique at the same time (for the area) like a Eurofighter or a Maurer Söhne Booster (like Formule X but a bit larger.) Darien Lake - 2 hours away - Although it is not my favorite park, I love it a lot, and it has a prize that no other will be able to claim - it started my obsession with roller coasters. It's my one true thrill park in my area so I hold it close, and this place has HUGE potential if PARC keeps up the good work. -
Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!
Tanks4me05 replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Hersheypark isn't stupid. Remember Storm Runner was advertised to intersect three rides? Capital Blue Cross Monorail, Trailblazer, and another one, I can't remember which, though. Western Chute as far as I could tell never seemed really popular whenever I went there. However, their rapids ride seemed to be VERY popular. I'm pretty sure they are not planning on taking it out anytime soon, especially a popular one such as that. HP rarely wants to take down rides - Storm Runner going around three rides, Great Bear going around Coal Cracker and Sooperdooperlooper are probably the two biggest examples of that. You need not to worry. -
Lawmaker Wants to Make Anonymous Internet Posting Illegal
Tanks4me05 replied to riccoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
^That was the first thing to appear in my mind. I see what the reasoning of suggesting this law was for, but it just isn't practical. For one thing: They can just fake their names and as you had said, fraud will be incredibly easy. (Semi off topic.) I agree what Hercules said about the internet being a real interaction. My definiton of interaction (through common sense - which sadly is treated practically like a severely handicapping genetic mutation in our society) is when people exchange ideas, words, feelings, etc. that both can receive and respond to - through any means, not just verbal and face to face. If verbal and face to face is the only way of true interaction, then technically exchanging notes with someone but keeping your back turned to them so you don't see them, is not a real interaction. Which in turn, I hate it when people say that those who are on the internet are not very social people - simply hermits. Well, we are not anti - social - heck, we are probably FAR more social than those who claim that, as we can communicate almost instantly with anyone on the entire planet that has a computer and internet access. I'm pretty sure that's well into the billions of people, compared to the perhaps a few dozen friends, acquaintances and relatives that other person may have. -

Just for the record, jpdupuis, your entry to this ride has a red lateral G spike while going into the corkscrew (right after the S Bend portion of the element) and it was easily fixable - I changed the angle of banking to 75 degrees instead of 45 degrees. (I did it on a version I downloaded just for the heck of it.) Maybe you should try to change it for part of your turn (along with making your next element for that turn) since technically I'm not allowed to do so. -

Does anyone have any construction pics? -
I'm really liking the atmosphere of this place! I would expect the people to theme the rides just "generally" to each cartoon, but they even made a shout out to Rugrats! I remember that show when I was growing up - I'm only 15 (in about two weeks - I have a crap load of Itunes $ on my list among other stuff - I saw my TPR Spain Video/ present arrive in the mail because I come home before my parents, so many of my mailed presents are not a surprise, but my parents almost always give me coaster related stuff anyway) , but hey, it's not on anymore, and it aired in what, 1991? (The Kiddie Reptar Bumper Cars.) And they even gave a shout out to one of the original Spongebob episodes - the Rock Bottom episode. I remember it well. I will definitely try to plan a mini mid west trip in my college years. (When I mean mini, I mean probably 4 - 6 parks or so, not a huge 2+ week trip - those are for when I get more money, and my first true huge trip will probably either be a TPR trip - it will probably have a crap load of add ons if TPR does another East Coast trip in 5 or 10 years.) -Tanks "I still watch Nickelodeon - but hey, IMO Avatar has a good plot. At least I watch the Military Channel as well - I'm a 'balanced' TV watcher." 4me05.

I'm trying VirtualDub, and there's a crap load of codecs available. I don't want to spend what few precious gigs of hard disk space I have, so could you tell me which codec can compress files the best out of the ones listed? -Cinepak Codedc by Radius -DivX® 6.8 Codec (1 Logical CPU) -DivX® 6.8 YV12 Decoder -Intel® video 5.10 -Intel 4:2:0 Video V2.50 -Intel Indeo® Video R3.2 -Intel Indeo® Video 4.5 -Intel IYUV codec -Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V1 -Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 (This is what I used for my vids - the 3 minute vids are usually around 80 MB) -Microsoft RLE -Microsoft Video 1

PrimeTime Resort (RCT3)
Tanks4me05 replied to AlmereStars's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
AlmereStars, I was just jokin, yaknow, but I thank thee for your compliance. IMO the hotel looks a little junky, unless you were trying to go for a hotel that looked somewhat like Mystery Mine's architecture. Otherwise the park looks pretty unique. Quite interesting, if I do say so myself. -
That depends. If you wan freaking huge coasters, go to the USA. If you want some REALLY weird and unique park experiences, go to Asia, most notably Japan. If you want a bit more of a balance between the two, try Europe. I have never been outside the Eastern USA myself, save for a couple trips to Ontario Canada, and a Disney Cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay, but that is what I have observed from countless photos, videos and comments from many other people.
