  1. A few times on Superman: The Escape alone was just plain creepy. And sort of neat...
  2. You should've heard my German teacher pronounce it! She wasn't a very good teacher.
  3. Those Moser spring rides are great for that because the drop is sudden, short, and sweet, so you don't get a chance to get comfortable on the drop before it whips you back up and drops you again. That and the fact that the drop isn't "cushioned" like Intamin drop rides, it's just pure freefall, makes it even better.
  4. Double Shock looks sort of neat... Wait, what exactly happened on the Shocker?
  5. Stop riding coasters for a while, say two or three months. I've gone for a year now without coasters or flat rides and will probably go a whole another year.
  6. Euro Ouch isn't really that rough, people just expect Intamin. It would be awful if it had hard restraints but it doesn't. Plus, those turns are just crazy. Schwartzkopf: shvorts-copf, shwarts-kapf, depends on who says it, lol. Beemerboy: European carnies are very clean. From what I can recall, they are generally smartly-dressed, and very, very, very, very, very, very efficient. They practically throw you onto the Wildwasserbahn III boats and nigh on rip you out of them. They're also friendly if you don't get pushy. They are practically the complete opposite of American carnies.
  7. Wheeee! I think I've seen that ride somewhere, like the Swiss alps or something. Didn't Robb and Elissa ride it? Or am I thinking of other people... But yeah, ow.
  8. Yay, Olympia Looping Bahn! That ride is unbelievably good. One of the main reasons our fairs aren't like theirs is because lack of common sense prevails here in the States.
  9. I like woodies like Colossus. When I rode last, in the back car, front seat, it was fast, exciting, and just a bit rough. Not "ow my back" rough like Mean Streak, more "wheeeeeeeeeeheheheeee" rough like I was riding a go-kart over a dirt road at high speeds. Psyclone, on the other hand, was "ow my back" rough. It wasn't fun.
  10. does that actually qualify you as gay!? Either gay or I just really like pink. I'm pretty sure the whole staring-at-hot-guys-and-thinking-dirty-thoughts qualifies me as gay, though.
  11. I'm pretty sure that the long delay is so the track/wheels/something can cool down.
  12. Very cool photo TR, one of the best ones I've seen in a while. Makes me really want to go to Europe.
  13. SCENARIO: IN CLASS JOKESTER: HAR HAR HAR *SPRRRRRRRITZ* AXE SMELL: *invaaaade* EVERYONE: OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT Repeat many, many, many times.
  14. Wow, I never noticed the eye on Bling before. That is so creepy.
  15. Poor Robb. I learned about the spam thread thing the hard way. I come from Gaia, the world's biggest forum (with something like the entire population of New Zealand), where people who make spam threads are ridiculed and spam threads themselves blossom until mods move them. When I came here I assumed that the rules were basically the same as any other forum and didn't bother to read them. This turned out to be a mistake when I spotted a spam thread and jumped on it and a grumpy Robb consequently jumped on me and I was banned for 24 hours and now I spread the gospel about reading and abiding by rules and whatnot. So number one rule: read the effing rules. When you don't read the rules Robb gets angrier. And when Robb gets too angry he turns green and rampages around ACE conventions lopping heads.
  16. Hurricane is so intense, how the cars go insanely fast around such a small turn at the bottom, and then shoot back up and sometimes you catch airtime before dropping back down for another neck-snapping revolution. However, it does look really cool.
  17. Oh christ just thinking about that hurts my brain.
  18. Remember that Disneyland/world/sea is a place to go to immerse yourself in fantasy, adventure, and joy. So the less immersive a ride, the more the park has failed to actually immerse you, the tourist. Walt Disney strove to create a park where a family could go and spend a day in the future, the past, the jungle, and the world of fantasy.
  19. As an interesting footnote of sorts, this review of the seven-star hotel seems less of a hotel review by a wine connoisseur on vacation with her family than it does a short work of futuristic science fiction by Phillip K. Dick or Douglas Adams about a wine connoisseur on vacation with her family.
  20. Just have fun. A good introduction to inverts and looping coasters at the same time would be Top Gun. It's pretty smooth, not too big, and has a good line-up of inversions. That was my first invert...
  21. Bob Hope tea kettle fig newtons I...SHAT ON A TURTLE!!! yoluj swnhatt"?:
