  1. LOL!! This reminds me of when they came to my house before SFOG a few months ago... when they walk in, Robb immediately found my bed as if he had been here before, and passed out instantly. Elissa.. not quite, she was at least able to stay awake most of the day. Haha, "This Bed Is Robb-Approved".
  2. You carry a roll of duct tape with you when you go to parks even though you don't have a lipstick cam.
  3. Interesting. Too bad, really, although I can sort of see why (the only Giant ride that did well was the Giant Frisbee and the Topple Tower is just failing miserably). Fly Away is notoriously bad. Many of their classic rides are amazing, but their recent efforts fall short of anywhere near "great".
  4. I'm so gay it's not even funny. No, really, I met Robin Williams once and he cried because I'm just that gay. Actually, I'm not really that gay. But I'm pretty gay. I have a pink terrycloth wristband and pink braces.
  5. Well that's just plain old kickass, innit? No, really, that's awesome.
  6. Apparently the German-run Star Shape is better because the arm moves faster, but I'm unsure as how to prove this.
  7. Holy Maddona Cher Elton John! You looked just like Jack from Will and Grace. What an entertaining thread.
  8. Unless the train was going up a hill or launching, I doubt that. I don't think sideways inversions would be a good idea...
  9. That looks like a really godawful ripoff combination of Bling (forgot the actual ride name) and Afterburner.
  10. My friend told us once that Ninja (SFMM) had to be closed because the train got stuck upside down. My other (coasterobsessed) friend and I spent an hour convincing her that it really can't go upside-down, much less get stuck like that.
  11. I realise that I'm gravethread digging here but shut up. I like the idea of doing something further with the Speed Boarder/Spin Bullet. Imagine going up a lift hill then down a little drop, then along a long flat section where the car spins two full revolutions. The car stops with you facing backwards and dives down a huge drop. At the bottom of the drop the car turns around to face forward in time to see a hammerhead. The car continues to turn and you take the hammerhead at high speed, facing the ground. Then at the end there could be a helix where you face inward and are plastered to your seat. It could be a pretty good ride. Sort of like a horizontal X.
  12. Yes, I realise this thread is really old but it's worth bringing back because it's interesting and if I try to make a new thread people will get angry and storm my house with pitchforks and flaming stick things. I certainly hope the vertical loop won't be lost. It's a great element, especially when used right. It takes up little space, offers great g-forces, and looks really, really cool. When used right, it can be one of the best elements around. As someone mentioned above, Revolution at SFMM makes brilliant use of the vertical loop. That looooong straightaway right before it helps as well. Schwartzkopf was a pioneer in the world of vertical loops. For example, Olympia Looping Bahn uses five of them, and they never get boring. Another simple and very early inversion I love is the double corkscrew. Notice the specification of "double corkscrew". There's something I love about dropping down from one corkscrew and smoothly flipping back up into the second one, how the link between the corkscrews is flawless.
  13. Maybe they changed the Wingwalker so the cars ride on top of the train. Wait, that's just a floorless coaster. Maybe the train goes backwards. Maybe the cars spin. Maybe it has multiple launches. Maybe it's just a really good Intamin coaster.
  14. Being stuck on your back on the brakes on a Vekoma flying coaster sucks because you're sort of upside-down and all the blood goes to your head. I remember how on Stealth you'd have to wait on the brakes for what seemed like ages while the other train loaded and lowered and left. It sucked. Especially when it was really hot out because then you would start to sweat where the restraints were and when you got off you'd have a weird V-shaped sweat mark on your shirt.
  15. Speed, in Las Vegas, on the weekend before Easter. I kind of got scared away from rides when I broke both my legs and got fat last year, then went to Paramount's Great America at about 285 pounds or more, was denied rides on Grizzly, Delerium, and Top Gun, got depressed and shot up to 315 (currently something like 305), couldn't get on any of the rides on top of Stratosphere, rode Speed about thirty times, and then called it quits for rides until I got under 285. I won't bore you with any more of my recent life issues.
  16. It's a lot to spend, when you first look at it, but then you have to factor in the fact that going to Disneyworld for seven days is a huge vacation in itself. Two waterparks, four amusement parks, gigantic shopping areas, hotels, pools, blah blah blah, it's been said before.
  17. Unless you're driving down to like, Los Angeles, from Montana. Which I've done. Then it's totally feasible. But other than that...
  18. The boat splashes down and you shout, NOT AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF WETNESS!
  19. I, too, would love to see a newer edition of the Zipper. As it is, it's a great carnival experience that showcases the pinnacle of the carnival world. Ew, I sound like a infomercial host. The suspended idea is interesting, but would be hard to pull off, unless the entire ride was made bigger. The point of the cages is so that you don't get your fingers or feet taken off by the other car or the structure. If you've ever watched closely, the bottoms of the cages come within about three inches of eachother. Now, if the ride was expanded, then it could be suspended. I could easily see that. Add on the possibility of a new loading system, maybe the whole thing could lay backwards and the arms holding the seats could pivot sideways, and everyone gets on a la Chaos, then the whole thing lifts vertically, the arms pivot sideways again, lock in place, then the ride starts off. That would make it even more kickass.
  20. Not really. I love the Zipper. I remember I first rode it with this girl at a carnival when I was like eight. On that ride we did a few of the special things Zippers do, like go over the top while going over the top while remaining upright the entire time, which provides completely insane airtime, or flipping for a whole revolution, or going around the bottom while going around the bottom while upside-down (more insane airtime), and then doing it backwards. Zippers are just the best thing ever.
  21. We've all been on those rides. You know, the ones where you just feel like you're gonna die and you go "OH GHANDI ON A JET PLAAAANE". Not because it's thrilling, because it's just that scary. For example, Acrophobia. Something about seeing the loading area waaaaayyy down there at the bottom of the tower that looks like a toothpick, your dangling feet rocking back and forth, then...click. Or a strong airtime hill in the backseat with a loose lapbar.\ What are your favourite scary rides? Personally, mine is the Fabbri Mega Drop. It makes the blue side on Power Tower seem like a leisurly descent on a ferris wheel. Those little ejectors push you down with such force and speed...
  22. It sucks how they redid Bubbleworks and made it shitty.
  23. When you're not expecting it... Back car, Colossus. My friend and I were talking about something down below and suddenly we were whipped over the top of the lift and I screamed my ass off. That drop is pretty huge. I was out of my seat the entire time.
