"The rest of the vacation was okay, but when we got to go for a ride in that beloved and adorable Chevy Traverse that was a memory that will stick with our family forever."5 points

If you rate them on a hot sauce scale, they would be room temperature mild sauce packets at Taco Bell.3 points

Boss has the longest cycle time and the biggest problem with light train loads. If they let you board both trains there'd be fewer people per run. The other coasters tend to just run both trains when the park is less full since they don't have the Boss' issue. Also in the event they did have one train stored the other coasters don't need a warm up to get the second train ready to run so the process of adding it is faster than Boss. It's definitely weird but the park has arrived at this process after two decades of living with the ride.2 points

Wait... you met him in a queue for a ride that has been closed for over a month now? If that's the case, I think all of the SF parks are in deep trouble with that guy. No way I am waiting in line for a closed ride!2 points

^ the paint color scheme is actually a PERFECT fit for the area of the park (CrackAxle) and the surrounding quarry. Keep in mind, it's not supposed to have bright yellow supports. the track and track support looks beautiful there against the browns and tans of the quarry rocks and wood in that section of the park. I'll agree with you that the attempt at patina just isn't working - and I have to hope they realize that, and will be doing a different attempt at painting over the coming months that will really tone down that yellow.1 point

Just dropping in... and curious to what the red smears around the new coaster support joints is. It... looks like they were sly by decorating for Fright Fest early. But man, that looks real. On top of already questionable paint scheme.1 point

All rides run during thunderstorms, you just have to sign a waiver and they recommend wearing rubber boots.1 point

It's taking forever. At this rate, it will only be open a couple years before SFSTL finishes their carrousel.1 point

Here's the thing. Not even Cedar Fair views their premium experiences as being applicable chain-wide. For every Cedar Point there's a World's of Fun, for every King's Island a Valleyfair, every Carowinds a Michigan's adventure, for Canada's Wonderland a Dorney. I don't think that the rising tide will necessarily float all boats in the same way under the new CEO. Will the park get better? Sure, it already has. But I'm not expecting this to become a destination. If that strategy made sense Cedar Fair would be doing it everywhere.1 point

Yes, he was there Monday. I met him in the queue on American Thunder. He's visiting all the parks in the SF chain on the down low to get a feel for what each park might need. He is the nicest guy I have ever met that worked in the corporate office. He was super incognito, just trying to be a regular guest. The guy has a vision, and he sees every six flags as becoming a premium experience that rivals places like Cedar Point and Hershey Park. And he cares about every park, even little old us. No, I didn't get any secret plans or anything, although not for my lack of trying. Gives me hope our park won't be left behind anymore. (And if you believe any of this I have a bridge to sell you)1 point

Pretty sure they use a non-3D video now and it seems to be less blurry than the old 3D stuff (or they just turned off the 3D setting). I don't really see anyone complaining about it. Most people seem to prefer it without the 3D.1 point

To all Cedar Point Fans!!! Wicked Twister Lives On!! Well at least part of it, my home park is Valleyfair. Stopped by yesterday and noticed that they have a seat from WT at the beginning of Steel Venom's cue to serve as a test seat. Sorry, I don't have a pic but though you all would like to know.1 point

The Disneyland Resort has shared a ton of news regarding the resort hotels and Downtown Disney including a reimagined Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, new resort benefits and new venues coming to Downtown Disney! https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/04/news-from-the-disneyland-resort-upcoming-pixar-plans-big-foodie-news-and-more/ Yesterday, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock met with community leaders about upcoming plans for magical new experiences coming to the Disneyland Resort, and we wanted to bring you in on the fun! Here’s a peek behind the curtain of what’s on the horizon for our guests, starting with some news from the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort! Hotels of the Disneyland Resort News Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will soon begin a transformation, with an all-new theme! The reimagining of the hotel will weave the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting. Guests will gain a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters through carefully curated artwork, and décor that reveals the creative journey of the artists who helped bring these stories to life. Guests will be welcomed into whimsical character moments, like the iconic, playful Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball in the lobby (as pictured in this artist concept rendering). Stay tuned, as we will share much more about this project soon! Not only do we have new and reimagined experiences coming for hotel guests, but more benefits as well! Beginning later this summer, guests staying at one of the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will be able to enjoy several new and returning uniquely Disney benefits to staying with us on property. As you may know, our guests already enjoy access to Disney California Adventure park directly through Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa entrance, and convenient Monorail access for Disneyland Hotel guests. Today, we’re excited to share that a walkway is currently under construction which will soon give Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel guests a convenient entrance to Disney California Adventure park! Guests can also look forward to “Hey Disney!” – a new kind of voice assistant which works alongside Alexa on Amazon Echo devices in Disneyland Resort hotel rooms that can make your stay more convenient, engaging, and enjoyable – later this year. Later this summer, guests of the Disneyland Resort hotels can look forward to the ability to send select theme park purchases back to their resort hotel. Last but certainly not least, we’re getting ready to offer early entry access, where guests staying at one of our Disneyland Resort hotels can be among the first to enter and begin enjoying select theme park attractions and experiences beginning later this summer. Downtown Disney District News We also are happy to share another new look at the exciting shopping and dining coming to the west side of the Downtown Disney District. While the evolution of Downtown Disney began in 2018, we recently began work on the latest transformation to introduce more innovative shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. Drawing inspiration from Southern California mid-century modern architecture, the west-end area will be a beautiful blend of vibrant color palettes, design elements and patterns influenced by the region, and will include an open lawn for relaxation and future events, and an even broader and diverse collection of dining and shopping. We are investing significantly in Downtown Disney District to continue growing a dynamic, exciting destination with something for everyone. We also are intentionally diversifying our offerings to meet the needs of today’s guests, and have an exciting example of that to share with you today. The world-renowned restaurant Din Tai Fung will join the district to offer guests their soup dumplings hand crafted right on site! This family-run restaurant will bring flavorful Chinese cuisine to Downtown Disney, where guests can enjoy dishes served family style in a creative space near our new lawn pavilion. Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytan will bring his inclusive vision of Mexican cuisine to Paseo and Centrico in the locations currently occupied by Catal & Uva Bar, brought to life by Patina Restaurant Group. The restaurant and central courtyard bar and dining area will offer guests a multi-sensory journey to the heart of Chef Gaytan’s homeland. We are also working with Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen to finalize an evolution that incorporates vibrant California energy and a fresh approach to the menu, while staying true to the heart of New Orleans for this guest-favorite location. Even more exciting news – fan favorite Earl of Sandwich will also pop into the district in a special sandwich walk-up location, offering guests the classics they know and love for a limited time beginning later this year. Mickey’s Toontown News As we shared previously, Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland park is undergoing a reimagining of its own, and will debut with new experiences and more play for guests, with a focus on families and young children, in early 2023. Today we are sharing a photo of our teams breaking ground on the land, coming together to celebrate this milestone and the work underway to bring this transformation to life. We can’t wait to debut all of these offerings – and more – coming to the Disneyland Resort!1 point

If both Chapek gets replaced and DeSantis loses in November because of this then it will be considered a win-win for everyone.1 point

I visited Heide Park last year in september. We stayed in the 'Holiday Camp', which has a dedicated park entrance (next to Scream). We started our two days with Dämonen and then Bobbahn and Limit and we then just made a tour around the park. I recommend to do these rides first, because right after park opening, the lines are usually short for these rides. I wouldn't go to Krake first, since it is the first big ride visitors pass when they enter the park via the main entrance. On the second day of our visit, it was raining like hell during the afternoon, but it stopped raining around 3pm. At that moment, the park was already dead (it was a weekday and no school holiday, so before the rain it was already really calm at the park), but all (major) rides stayed open until 5 pm (1 hour before the official park closure). It was so calm when it stopped raining that I could do 11 consecutive rides on Dämonen without me having to leave my seat once between 4 and 5 pm. I have no idea at all. My prediction is that it will depend on the weather that weekend. The park you visit on the best day will probably be the busiest... We usually go the Heide Park first, since it is the closest to home for us, so we can have more sleep on the night prior to the trip.1 point

Ouch, I'm hurt? And yeah, the Golden Ticket Awards are kinda a joke around here, but with only 86 posts on a not-even-three-years-old account, I shouldn't expect you to know that. Have fun with your "amazing" Cedar Point experience, featuring: -30-minute-wait-after-merge with Fast Lane on two of their top 3 coasters -Their top four coasters being maintenance nightmares, and rarely running for an entire day straight. -Most of the flats not being on Fast Lane. -The only superb food being at Melt and Famous Dave's, which aren't even CP restaurants. -No sense of urgency by most ride ops. -Separate admission water park, without any Fast Lane-accepting rides (the swim up bar is nice, I'll give it that). -Complete lack of a log flume. Like I said, I do not question that CP has the better coaster lineup when compared to KI, and I still consider CP to be my number 2 favorite park. My opinion was, and is, that Kings Island is the better overall park experience. But this is a Six Flags thread, and arguing about CF parks belongs elsewhere.0 points
