  1. We were at the park on Monday and ..................................................Mission Accomplished!!!!!!!!!! We made it on AND were able to get in the one alpine coaster in PF we had not done to make it 250 for the boy, the day after his 18th birthday no less. Not trying to taunt anyone, JJLehto so sorry you didn't get on but hope you do on your second day! It took us 3 trips to get it.

  2. I'm still wishing CF would increase the Fastlane Plus prices to cut down on the number sold, while breaking even on the profits. I'd gladly pay $200 per day at Cedar Point, if it meant a substantial reduction on wait time. I'd be upset if I paid for Fastlane Plus and had the kind of wait times people reported on opening day. I wasn't thrilled in 2016 when we waited 45 minutes for Top Thrill Dragster. As for medical emergencies related to low blood sugar, it would probably be a good idea to something available in your vehicle.

  3. What a bunch of a-holes. Honestly. Wear a mask, save yourself and probably somebody else's life. And oh yeah. Get a vaccine shot. It'll be worth it. But if you're still going to argue and scream about "Freedom, Rights of the Individual" blah blah blah. Fine, get sick. And don't forget to blame The Government, because "you didn't know", blah blah.... Morons.

  4. I stand corrected on Daily Operations. Yeah, it can be the case all summer long. Last year was pretty bad, but that was with reduced capacities on the rides. This year, we're back to full capacity, but we also have a literal fuck ton of people that are eager to get back into the world going to parks. That said, the last time I was at the park without Fast Lane was mid-week in 2017, and I was there on a Tuesday and standby queue's were "reasonable" at an hour for Maverick or Millie. I'll never do it again...Fast Lane+ at this park is just a no-brainer in my opinion.

  5. I've shifted from going to the lowest capacity rides first to going to the rides that I really want to ride first in most cases, especially in this case. If Lightning Rod is open, ride it immediately before it's next routine catastrophic mechanical failure that leaves it closed for 3 months.

  6. So thank you very much for the advice. We did stop at Lake Winnie since we were literally driving right by it. He got Cannonball but the wild mouse and wacky worm were closed, so we just sent him in to get his credit and then drove on into Atlanta which ended up working out perfectly for what we were trying to do. I think the lady at the ticket booth was rather annoyed with us, she kept asking if we were going in and didn't seem to get it that we were just waiting while he rode one coaster, lol. This little park could certainly use a lot of love and only about half the rides were open so a $30 charge to get in was kind of bold but it was just a one time stop off for us so whatever. As far as our SFOG visit. We got incredibly lucky and made it on all 10 operating coasters. Mindbender still closed which is too bad because it looked cool. This was last Saturday so park still requiring full mask usage, moderate enforcement but most people still adhering to the rule. I see that today they have posted no more mask requirements, reservations, or temp checks at the parks now. Crowded day being a weekend and really nice weather, but with the FP upgrade we easily got everything in, coasters and flats that we wanted to. Food lines were not as bad as the last couple SF I have been too but the quality was not good at all. I am really wishing that SF would go back to letting outside sources like Papa Johns, McDonalds, Panda Express sell in the parks but I know they probably won't. On a side note I had not driven through Atlanta in a number of years and don't think I will ever again with the absolutely ridiculous traffic and number of accidents we had to deal with. Guess I needed a reminder of why I vowed only to fly when going to FL

  7. Everytime I see a story like this I'm just assuming it's staged for attention on Twitter and Tik Tok or whatever. If you really lost your wig on that ride it would be in the lake or inside the secured ride area or something. I highly doubt they're out there gathering loose articles every hour so she probably just took the thing off and gave it to a team member to film him giving it back to her. I mean it gives the park something to tweet about so good for engagement and all that, just always feels fake to me.

  8. I'm really surprised they let her on with such an obvious wig. (or in the park in cosplay. . wouldn't they worry someone would think she's representing the Park)? Maybe someone was too embarrassed to ask her about it?

  9. She did this for attention, it's what she does.

  10. I visited Atlanta last week to see the Phillies play against the Braves and also went to SFOG last Saturday. It was my first time visiting the park as well my first trip to any Six Flags park besides Great Adventure. The park really exceeded my expectations. Operations were great with multiple trains on the coasters and fast dispatches. The employees were also great. I expected my favorite coaster was going to be either Twisted Cyclone or Goliath and while they were fun, my favorite might have been Dare Devil Dive. It was so smooth and I'm always a fan of a coaster with inversions and just a lap bar. The non coaster ride selection was also great. I liked how there was a train that gave a history of the park and past rides which was good when taking a break from the coasters. Monster Mansion was also very impressive for a Six Flags parks with all the animatronics throughout the ride. If I am ever back in the Atlanta area, I want to return to the park especially because I missed Mindbender which has been on my coaster bucket list for a while.

  12. Quick Que at BGT can get up there too, it's $40 during the week in the low season but it's $100-$150 on the weekends pretty much from now until October.

  13. The real shame is the park won't be open after dark today. Night rides on LR are amazing, especially if a new moon or cloudy. You'll have to come back for one

  15. ^That's on par with CP on a summer weekend, but I still wish CP charged more. KI is worth visiting. It might be my favorite park, factoring in drive time from my home. But, their Fastlane Plus is a big part of that reason. As previously posted, you can get on rides very quickly using it. A 2-3 train wait on a summer Saturday is typical for us.

  16. I still really hate the trend of SF putting "coaster" in all the newer ride names. Whoever is on their marketing team that thought that was a good idea.. I dislike you very much and I hope you get diarrhea.

  18. We went to Dollywood for the first since November 2019 Friday and Monday. Some thoughts! On Friday, they were still requiring masks in lines and on rides and were actually doing a solid job of enforcing their own policies. We are fully vaxxxxed and felt comfortable at the park, overall. By Monday, the policy had been relaxed and masks were significantly less present. All Staff still wear. Thunderhead is running really great. The last 1/4 of the ride is just amazingly smooth right now and the first bit as well. We really loved it. Mystery Mine's new bit is fine. It's certainly smooth at the moment which is good. Lightning Rod does feel *slightly* slower over the first hill and throughout the whole course. It is most noticeable on the first element after the big drop. Still hauls and is an awesome ride. Shut down on us Monday before we could get on it (our mistake for waiting till 6:30). Oddly enough, on Friday the line was at 100 minutes midday. We walked right on at park close twice. Food and Flower Festival Thoughts: $28 for 5 foods ($30 without season pass) is actually really solid. Food item prices ranged from $5 for fruity drinks to $11 for fish and chips, without the pass. We got a lanyard each day we were there to share and ate well for $14 each. Some of the menu items (value is based on the lanyard not the actual sell price, which was often way too high). Fish and Chips ($11): one decent sized piece of fish with some thin steak fries. Pretty solid (value decent) Lobster Roll ($10): some pretty tasty, cool lobster salad in an untoasted split top roll with a whole bag of salt and vinegar chips. Tasty and refreshing, but small portion. Beef Bulgogi Nachos ($11): Large portion, honestly awesome but needed to ask for extra of the two sauces. Mountain Paella ($7): Meh portion, meh flavor, skippable. They also had some tasty dessert items! Overall, a solid visit and crowds were overall manageable if you avoid riding coasters between like 11:30 and 3:30 (we tend to do shows, eat, and ride train in this window).

  19. We bailed on a Bizarro stair wait on opening day since we realized that we wouldn't be off the ride for 45 minutes. The crew is always atrocious but this year is a special case. Put me in the camp of people who would rather see them run 2 trains than leave people on the brake run for 15 minutes.

  20. Just about every place is awesome. Aunt Granny's has everything you could ever want. Absolutely do not miss the cinnamon bread near Barnstormer. Their barbecue is fantastic too, I think it's over near Aunt Granny's. We were there for 3 days and the only place I wouldn't recommend is the 50s cafe near Lightning Rod. It wasn't bad, just not up to the standards of everywhere else.

  22. Yeah, Dragster's FL line dumps you in the station as of 2020.

  23. It looked really good actually, and it seemed fairly popular on Sunday. Glad they put money into it and the Pirate. They are two classic rides that also don't have huge height requirements. Hopefully they can put more money into sprucing up existing rides each year.

  24. Pretty sad that a park gave into the court of public opinion. Open the park however you want as long as it's within state guidelines. I guarantee a majority of the Facebook commenters wouldn't go wither way. People just like to argue on the internet.

  25. We always hit the first week of 10am-10pm operations, armed with FL+. But, so much for that this year. We never had to wait more than 15 minutes for anything. Really slow days would mean walk-on rides.

  29. Single rider line on LR up and running today. Use the Timesaver entrance. Ride ops seemed to be in good spirits this morning. They seemed happy to let folks know they didn't have to wear masks on rides anymore and were doing it often. Crowd was picking up when I left around 11. Beautiful 70s today. Going to get busy, I bet.

  33. For what it's worth, I visited the park this past Wednesday with my daughter. After our inaugural visit back in 2019, where she just missed being tall enough to even ride the Shredder, we made the decision to not return until she hit at least 48" so she could ride way more stuff. Well, she finally hit her mark back in April, so we ended up picking up the low-price mid-week tickets that gave us free reign of the park from 12 PM to 7 PM. We didn't end up actually getting there until 2:00 PM (had to wait for her virtual school to end before we left), but once we did, it was a pretty painless process. We picked up our wristbands at the counter after they scanned the QR code from our online purchase. Unlike in the past where they were embedded with RFID chips and they would be scanned at every ride entrance, these are now just your average paper wristbands that we showed upon entry to the park and then never got checked again the rest of the day. Crowd levels were pretty light, as to be expected mid-week. In the span of the five hours that we were there, we rode everything we wanted to ride multiple times. None of the rides had more than a station wait, with the exception of Jimmy Neutron, which was closed earlier in the day but opened back up around 4 PM. For whatever reason they were only loading about four or five cars at a time on that ride, so it took us about three cycles to get on. The first coaster she wanted to ride was her nemesis from last time, The Shredder. This is without a doubt my favorite spinning coaster I've ridden so far (might change whenever I make it out to SDC, but for now, this slaps). The sheer length of it gives a lot of bang for your buck, and with only the two of us in the car, we got some absolutely insane spinning. Both times we rode it, they allowed us to stay on for re-rides thanks to no one else being in the station, so we ended up getting a total of four rides. It's just a great smiles-on-faces ride, and easily a big favorite here. Shellraiser was up next, and it was also a walk-on for us. Sadly, this one ended up being a one-and-done. Although the layout is great, I remembered half of the rides with my son being super rattly back in 2019, and unfortunately, it's only gotten worse since then. I don't know what they can do to fix this ride, but it's shaky to the point of the car feeling like it's going to tear itself apart mid-ride. We noticed at many points throughout our time there they were just sending empty cars throughout the course. Here's hoping they find something to do with this ride that makes it more enjoyable for everyone, because as it stands, this record-breaker is definitely the biggest flop in the park. Slime Streak was listed on the website as being down for maintenance from the 4th through the 20th, but for whatever reason, it was open that Wednesday! I was a bit apprehensive about riding as I had heard it was not particularly friendly towards larger body types and I'm still trying to shed those extra lockdown pounds, but I'm happy to say that although the trains were on the small side, the restraints were not overly restrictive. We did this one twice throughout the day. It's your average family coaster, nothing too special or thrilling but gives a nice view of the park. Timmy's Half-Pipe Havoc was open for the first time for us, originally being closed back during our 2019 visit. This was my second Intamin halfpipe coaster and my daughter's first experience. More ridiculous fun, with the back and forth launches and the rapid-fire spinning. We only did it once but wouldn't mind riding it again. Sandy's Blasting Bronco was also operating, but due to the height requirement being 52" and my daughter being short by 4 inches, we skipped it. It looks hecka fun, though, and hopefully the next time we go back and my son is along for the ride, we'll get a chance to give it a spin! Other rides of note: Kraang's Pandemonium is an absolutely bonkers mini-pendulum that picks up speed super fast, and the interaction with the ceiling (and ceiling fans!) is sure to thrill. Skyline Scream was operating as well, and this S&S tower runs a combo program; it shoots you up to the top and then bounces several times before pulling you the rest of the way up for a beautiful panorama of NYC and New Jersey. You are greeted up at the top by Spongebob and Patrick figures before you plummet back down. While it apparently can rotate, it wasn't rotating during any of our three rides on Wednesday, but it was still a lot of fun. Last but not least, while the Reptar carousel is cool to look at, it's a total pain to ride. Not sure whose idea it was to have the spikes on the tail poking your butt if you slide even slightly backwards. There were a number of new Zamperla kiddie rides scattered throughout the park, including a Crazy Bus themed to the Loud House, a Happy Swing themed to Dora The Explorer's monkey Boots, some cupcake looking teacups themed to Butterbean (whatever that is), and a mini-whip themed to Paw Patrol, but the only one that was currently operational was a Bubble Guppies themed spinning balloon tower. Here's some photos of the ones currently under construction: Foodwise, they're still only operating a single food stand located near the Half-Pipe coaster, with primarily pre-packaged sandwiches, hot dogs, popcorn, snacks, and the like. However, we noticed they were bringing more structures into the building as we were leaving Slime Streak for the second time, one of which said "Burger Bar" on it. Hopefully there'll be a little bit more options for food in the near future, especially considering that they aren't offering re-entry to the park currently. If you want to check out any of the other food options in the mall, you'll forfeit the remainder of your ticket. I'm definitely happy we visited on a slow day with the cheaper tickets and smaller crowds. I wouldn't want to visit on a weekend, where you're limited to timed entry and exit periods and the crowds are heavier, as I feel like you simply wouldn't be able to get through everything here (and it's not even as if there's a whole lot for that matter). Last but not least, the parking fee. It's free under two hours, and $2 for any length of time over 2 hours. This is ridiculous... and by ridiculous, I mean ridiculous to complain about. Literally go anywhere else in New York City and try to find parking anywhere near as cheap as that. Or for that matter, any other amusement park that isn't named Knoebels. Hell, the Queens Center Mall charges $3 for an hour of parking and all they have is a damn Target and Red Lobster. I get that people are looking for something to whine about, but this ain't it, chief.

  34. I get why enthusiasts make jokes about rides like these or Cedar Point's Pipe Scream that but since my son started riding things I've been a lot more forgiving on the naming. He sees it's called a coaster and that makes him think he's rode a roller-coaster then who am I to correct him. Nah, I'm totally kidding. I'm an enthusiast and obviously correcting people on this takes priority. He rode one of those powered double helix coasters at Seoul Land and was happy to have rode his first roller-coaster. I sat him on my knee and gave him a 15 minute lecture on why it didn't count as a 'credit' and he couldn't tell his friends that he rode a roller-coaster. He cried but lessons were learned and he said he doesn't want to ride roller-coasters anymore so at least he won't make that mistake ever again.

  35. And clearly have some sort of support system (whether that may be savings, parents/family, government handouts, or whatever), otherwise you wouldn't think the way you do. I value human life above all else. You can't get it back. Money can be replaced. Lives cannot. This is my service to my country right now. We are fighting the coronavirus. This is the most important work we can do. To undermine those efforts is to fight for the enemy.
