Ölands Djur & Nöjespark

Postby Jerrykoala2112 » Fri Nov 27, 2009 11:05 am

There is one other trip report of this park, so I think it is neat being the 2nd!

But Ölands Djur & Nöjespark is a Zoo, Water Park, and Theme Park. It is mostly a zoo, with a fairly medium sized water park, and a pretty carnival like theme park. The zoo is mostly birds, reptiles, and apes.

Keep in mind lots of these monkeys can't stop moving, so they might appear blurry. And I am also taking pictures through glass. But isn't this monkey awesome?!
IMG_0485 [800x600].jpg
I think if I kiss it...
IMG_0489 [800x600].jpg
The largest frog, toad I have ever seen! Had my friend stick her finger in the picture to show off how giant it is!
IMG_0490 [800x600].jpg
Someone needs to stop eating...
IMG_0494 [800x600].jpg
The snakes weren't moving. They were either sleeping or dead...
IMG_0495 [800x600].jpg
I find the length of snakes fascinating!
IMG_0496 [800x600].jpg
Isn't is a cute bunny! It's a puff ball with a face.
IMG_0497 [800x600].jpg
Awww, look at their little bodies hop around!
IMG_0498 [800x600].jpg
One of these bunnies has a stalker.
Note: The Guinea Pig sleeping in the basket!
IMG_0499 [800x600].jpg
Did someone lose all his/her friends?

Turtle suspended in water.

These little critters couldn't stop climbing on stuff!
IMG_0506 [800x600].jpg
Flamingos are pink by the pink shrimp they eat...
IMG_0507 [800x600].jpg
If anyone knows what this is, they get a cooking by someone else buy me!
IMG_0509 [800x600].jpg
Huddle together to stay warm!
IMG_0510 [800x600].jpg
For such a little zoo, I was surprised they had this!
IMG_0511 [800x600].jpg
Are they huddling together to stay warm?
IMG_0513 [800x600].jpg
Can anyone see both birds? They blend in very well!
IMG_0518 [800x600].jpg
Hmmm, not sure what this is. But I took a picture of it anyways!
IMG_0522 [800x600].jpg

IMG_0570 [800x600].jpg
I love this picture! I think the lemur liked it too ;)
IMG_0571 [800x600].jpg
It started raining...and we didn't reach the theme park yet.
IMG_0572 [800x600].jpg
It cleared up fast!
IMG_0574 [800x600].jpg
It started hailing a lot.
IMG_0575 [800x600].jpg
Note: All the goats when on the side of the house where the roof covers it. They are smarter then we may think!
IMG_0576 [800x600].jpg
This one called shotgun!
IMG_0591 [800x600].jpg
It stopped raining and everything was testing.
IMG_0592 [800x600].jpg
This is the new roller coaster for 2009. I came to this park in 2003, and they have a roller coaster called "Jumbo Jet" which was a schwarzkopf. But I guess they took it down for this...
IMG_0593 [800x600].jpg
The ground is gravel, wasn't too crowded either!
IMG_0594 [800x600].jpg
This is the parks Wacky Worm!
IMG_0597 [800x600].jpg
We sat in the back! And took this ;D
IMG_0599 [800x600].jpg
The new roller coaster...
IMG_0600 [800x600].jpg
In English, it means "Africa Express"
IMG_0605 [800x600].jpg
Merry-go-around. Then in the back back is a dark ride! It stinks.
IMG_0606 [800x600].jpg
Not that exciting, but the whole park was carnival rides, even though it is a real theme park.
IMG_0614 [800x600].jpg
Let's end this Photo TR on a positive note :D
IMG_0604 [800x600].jpg
The carts were cute! This is the one we sat in, but they had a lion and a tiger carts too! *forgot to add this photo*

Do you have a picture of facade of the Spook House/Dark Ride/Ghost Train that is hiding behind the carousel in one of your photos?

I am sorry but I don't. My camera battery died when I was taking pictures in line for Afrika Expressen. So I just took pictures quickly of the midway before they died. Sorry again.

So was that one pic of the lions the only big cats there, or was there more? I'm more interested in the cats than I am in monkeys, but that's just me.

Nice TRs though, Liseberg is always gorgeous and the second park is quirky...

Ölands Djur och Nöjespark is a very bad place.
None of the ops know Swedish or English.
The food is overpriced and some parts in the park smells like pee.

CorkscrewFoley; they got tigers.

Two things I love seeing - lots of pics of Liseberg and photos of random unknown parks!

Thanks for posting these!

Also, I loved the pics of the GIANT Sulcata Tortoises! OMG those things are MASSIVE!!!!

They could NEVER get away with an Africa themed coaster with Monkey cars in America.

I love donkeys more than me.
