tanthonyam
I think I am gonna pass going. Just saw they are charging $69.00 to get in. Seems a bit high for a smaller park. I didnt even pay that much to go to SFMM back in FEB. They had a nice online discount. Sorry Lagoon but not enough big coasters to get me to pay that much. KBrylczyk
^ That's standard for Lagoon. They have a limited market since they're in a very remote location. Honestly, besides us nerds, who do you know outside of the Sal Tlay Ka Siti metro that has visited Lagoon or plans to visit? They have next to no competition to keep prices low (Magic Mountain has all the kings of the industry within 20 miles) and they keep the park very well maintained and they've got a solid lineup of attractions. I've got no problem paying the premium. Edited May 24, 2020 by KBrylczyk
tanthonyam
yes I have been before, it is a nice traditional park but most of the coasters are on the smaller size. I noticed they have a huge kids ride selection too. When the new coaster is done I may rethink going...

Canobie Coaster
I agree Lagoon's price is high relative to a lot of other parks, but they have incredible operations and a large ride lineup.
pǝʇɹǝʌuı
Also, keep in mind that deals are relatively easy to come by. I've never paid full price to get into Lagoon. Like a lot of other parks, the standard admission rate is higher than what you should be paying to get into the park. I keep my eye out for things like "date night" deals that get you 2 for 1 admission, corporate deals through friends, or deals available in local grocery stores. I know for sure that Costco sells tickets for something like $45, and I think some of the local grocery stores like Smith's and Macey's carry discounted tickets as well. I'm not sure whether or not they're available right now during the pandemic, and I just left Utah for the summer, so maybe someone that's currently living locally can confirm whether or not that's currently an option. thrillseeker4552
I don't have much of a problem with Lagoon's pricing. It can seem a little steep, but their season passes are reasonably priced if you go more than twice throughout the season. I just wish they had a dining plan / drink plan add-on to the pass. I have become so used to having it at Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks, it would be nice to have at Lagoon!

Given that people need to buy tickets on the website to be able to reserve their date with the new reservation system, I'm not sure how any of those "in-person" type deals would work. KBrylczyk
^ Promo codes have existed since the dawn of the postal service. They've adapted to telephones and internet.

ryder
^ Promo codes have existed since the dawn of the postal service. They've adapted to telephones and internet. That may be true, but I didn't see any currently listed on their site. Maybe there's local deals, but if I'm from LA looking to get tickets later this summer, I'm not sure how I'd find those deals. When I google "Lagoon discounts", all I get is the currently blank Lagoon discount page, and a list of those rip off coupon code sites that are also probably out of date. Nothing viable. tdaun
Costco is selling discount tickets for the 2020 season. I think they're $50 or at least close to that price point.
Canobie Coaster
One of the more interesting things I saw on social media is how Lagoon is handling single riders on Wicked. Lagoon was only loading single parties on Wicked this past weekend. And since Lagoon doesn't allow single riders to ride alone in the front or back row, I was wondering how that would work. Turns out, they had operators ride with guests when the situation arose.
coasterbill
I'm not entirely sure why that's any safer than just putting another guest there but whatever works. Either way, I want that job.
Canobie Coaster
^ I'm surprised they just don't put a single rider on the end and a group of two on the other end, leaving a seat in between. The only other park I've seen a ride op join guests was on Kennywood's Thunderbolt.

Rides like Wild Mouse, Spider, Wicked, and Cannibal, which use carriers/cars, must have a minimum of 2 riders per carrier. This policy has been suspended temporary, due to Social Distancing Restrictions. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
Canobie Coaster
^ Ok thanks for clarifying. So is the account they had an operator join them bogus or did the op just go for the ride because he could?

toughmudder
Quick question for the Lagoon experts out there... We are headed there today, but I am arriving later than my family. My wife will use our season parking pass. Is there a good place I could park my car for free and walk into the park? I don't mind walking a bit, as my wife could drive me to my car at the end of the day. I thought of the Lagoon Trailhead and also Station Park. Any other ideas...? ryder
We were thinking about driving out there from LA, since we're not crazy about the idea of flying with COVID... but seeing the lack of people wearing masks or social distancing in the park is giving us pause. I have a feeling we may end up passing.
