DerekRx Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Looks good to me, can't wait to get back to Dollywood. I wonder how far the walk will be between Wild Eagle and the skillets...
slither37 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Looks like a great ride. Would LOVE to do the TPR trip. At any rate, I do see a drive from Ohio to Pigeon Forge next spring.

deathbydinn Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) While I do slightly prefer X Flights's layout (but I could be bias on that with GRAm being my home park) I'm sure it will still be a great ride and it's location and the amount of theming DW will be amazing. I'm really hoping I'll be able to try it out next year! Edited September 5, 2011 by deathbydinn
Schotcher Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Those poor kids who hoped to get to Dollywood by using their babysitting money for plane tickets.... Should've waited a couple years.
Ryancrash Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Yeeeeeeeee-HAW!! Looks amazing! And perched on top of the mountain, I'm sure the coaster will appear much higher than it really is. Can't wait to come back to Dollywood and get my "feathers ruffled!"
dragonskeep Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 The concept art is very nice. Someone did a stellar job on that.
WFChris Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 This looks like a great move for Dollywood! Exciting stuff....
QueerRudie Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Is anyone else having issues with the live feed from Knoxville?
asimowalk Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) ^ Yeah, apparently there's some not-so-good weather that's messing up the feed. Very fitting to have the weather radar instead. Edited September 5, 2011 by asimowalk
coasterfreak101 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 ^Yeah, and there's nothing new on the announcement page.
KC_Engineer Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I'll be interested to see images of the trains. The description is vague and a little confusing. Is this a wing rider or something similar to Sky Rush?
ZackBack™ Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Is anyone else having issues with the live feed from Knoxville? I am! IT has not changed from the weather yet!
coasterkarl Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Were do i get my frequent flier miles card?
Schotcher Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I'll be interested to see images of the trains. The description is vague and a little confusing. Is this a wing rider or something similar to Sky Rush? Wingrider. And I still don't get why "The sky is not the limit".
Kumbarider1993 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Sorry Gam, no firsts for you I guess their the "first to announce plans on a wing coaster" But about the dollywood coaster...HOLY CRAP! This look really awesome!! I have to say this layout looks much better than Gam's wingrider.
bearcut Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 This is the one ride I want to ride next year.
VandeSte Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Those poor kids who hoped to get to Dollywood by using their babysitting money for plane tickets.... Should've waited a couple years. ^THIS!^ Dollywood has just been placed at the top of my must go to places for 2012.
Shavethewhales Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Interesting, definitely looks like an amazing coaster, but if I'm a little let down that they're just using that hill to prop the coaster over the park, like they want it to stand out and tower over everything. It seems like this is a response to Carowind's Intimidator, and that Dollywood is quickly headed in the direction of being simply a "coaster park". I had hoped for a little more ingenuity and creativity in the design. However, the concept art does not seem to give that good of an impression of what the actual ride will look like. I'm sure it will look a little better nestled into the trees more, and some parts are probably designed to flow with the terrain. It doesn't show any theming at all though... I wonder if they left it out, or if there's really not going to be any at all. Seeing as every other B&M Wing Walker so far has featured interactions with theming, it'd be totally out of character for Dollywood's to be so vanilla. We'll see what happens, I have a feeling there will be plenty of surprises while this thing is being developed, and the final product will turn out far better than anyone would imagine. That's usually how it works out with HFEC
bgeguy Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 This seems like a fabulous addition for Dollywood, but they might want to change their marketing to not say "America's fits wind riding coaster" since SFGA is getting one in the same year.
lilj4425 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Awesome looking ride. Glad I only live a few hours from Dollywood. Definitely going here in 2012.
tntornadox Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 This seems like a fabulous addition for Dollywood, but they might want to change their marketing to not say "America's fits wind riding coaster" since SFGA is getting one in the same year. Dollywood's will open first, so they can say that...
06jds377 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I'm watching live on TV. Hands down worst fireworks display in history, fireworks are 80% obstructed by clouds and smoke. I'm so lucky to live about halfway between KI and Dollywood, can't wait for 2012.
