cgodsey Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 There is also a track photo on their website: http://www.dollywood.com/mmine/progress03.htm
Intamin AG Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I saw some track pieces went I went on Tuesday, I totally forgot to take pictures of it when I was on the train. But I saw they are building all the way back to the train tracks, which I found kind of wierd since on the videos it doesnt look like it stretches out that far.
InsanityFreak Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I don't remember where I saw it but when they were testing some new element on the track. They had one of the MM trains on it. Fully themed. IDK maybe someone can find it but i saw it and was like darn that looks a lot like the test seat and sure enough upon some close up zoom action I noticed it was a train testing. Best part was the picture I saw was 4 or 5 months before the announcement of the coaster. Hahaha --Insanity
okinawaboy11 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Is the track all nasty and what not from the Factory? Like Nemesis?
ECZenith Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 ^^^ I know for Everest, Rock 'N Roller Coaster, Crush's Turtle Twister and many others the completed track is built first and then the building.
cgodsey Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Dollywood has sent RideWorld some high-res photos of the construction up-close. You can see them HERE.
jarmor Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I reluctantly joined the site to see the pics and im pretty impressed at the speed this coaster is going at! Im sure the views during nov is gonna be awesome!
cgodsey Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 *EDIT* Sorry about that. When the boards were upgraded, the require login setting was turned on. It is now set to where you can view threads without requiring a login. My bad! Chris
Jonathan Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 You have to be registered and logged in to read any of the RideWorld forums. It's been that way as long as I can remember.
robbalvey Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 I've updated the construction photos page again today: http://www.themeparkreview.com/dollywood2007/dollywood2007.htm Thanks Erik! --Robb
jamesdillaman Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Thank you, things really seem to be moving on the foundations for the building. This is going to be bigger than I had at first thought. -James Dillaman
robbalvey Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Updated the construction page today with more pics. The ride has gone REALLY vertical!!!! Check out the rest of it here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/dollywood2007/dollywood2007.htm Thanks Erik! --Robb
coasterdude5 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Wow... Just goes to show how much theming will go into this! That one twisted drop looks like it will be great!!
DATman Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 ^The over vertical thing will seem more like an odd heartline than something painful (at least, I think that's what it'll be like). Doesn't it look like the first drop has a holding brake? That should be really cool, as I'd assume some kind of effect will go up there.
RctInfinity Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Something tells me that someday riding this coaster will scare the heck out of me with that drop because it will be probably dark. But it looks fun!
jamesdillaman Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I know there will be many affects on this ride, Dollywood won't dissapoint! -James Dillaman
okinawaboy11 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Ohhhh twisty beyond verticle dive of doom thingy. Awesome.
ECZenith Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 That has got to be the fastest coaster-building progress ever! I love the fact that one of the drops will twist on the way down, can't wait to see the finished product.
taytig Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I was at Dollywood 5 days ago and took some photos. I was going to post them tonight, but they are nothing compared to what it looks like now. Anyway - Looks like a great ride - we need one like this in Canada!!
xericx Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 wow, looks like they have been busy as beavers. cant wait for this.. im sure this will be a good one.
dr.gumbo Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Yay!! Something twisty, like TOT at GRCs drop of doom thingy
waterviper Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Right on!!!! This coaster has two erections so far!!
