SharkTums Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Ok everyone, I am ripping off CFC's post in our England Trip Board! I am posting below some pictures of our 'change coke bottle'. As you can see it is almost full. When I can no longer keep the top on, I will be rolling the change and counting it up! Here's where you come in. Guess how much the final count will be and win a price! (Shirt, DVD, maybe something cooler!) You must submit your guess to me via email (emeridithw2@aol.com) no later than Monday, February 13, 11:59pm West Coast Time. Please submit your name, screename, and guess (in $'s) There are Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, and a few dollar coins in the bottle. It currently weighs 11 pounds. Any other questions post them here. Should be fun! Everyone submit a guess! Here are some more household items so you can figure out how big the bottle is! Here's another angle so you can get a better idea of size. Here is a closeup of the bottle.
TwistedTrack Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I just need to mention that i love ovaltine! lol hmmmm.... ill give it a try!
coaster_maniac Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 oohhh fun contest! it'll be hard.. but let's see what i can do..
Nrthwnd Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 ^ 3 Loooove the 'shopping list' there on the table! Mmmmm, Secret, Advil, Ovaltine... and Cheerios - what a great breakfast combo! Yum.
AznShortBoi8021 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 What is the height of the bottle? Can you give the the diameter of the bottom, top, and middle of the bottle?
coasterfreak101 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 No, that would be a little too much, IMO. Anyways, I'll give it a try, sounds like fun!!!
SharkTums Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 Nope not going to go into that many details!
DailyBugle_JL Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I usually cash in my halfway filled deja vu souveneir cup, and it seems to be about the same height so im going with $xxxx. Ill see if i get this right.
waterviper Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 ^ You are suppose to EMAIL your guess to Elissa!!! Some people don't know how to read!!! Ok I submitted my guess!!! A splendid time is garenteed for all with this rip roaring fun filled game!!
Ed Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I think the English Ovaltine packaging looks nicer. Btw how can you drink Ovaltine.. Or as Robb informed me, you eat it out of the tub? Oh, btw what's a Dime... and a Nickel lol! Infact can someone post what values the coins are...
TheStig Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Alright I sent you my guess. Just a quick question, do you have coin star over in CA? We have it a Cash N Kerry here and you pour in your change and it counts it for you and you get a recipts that can be exchanged for cash (with .07 on the dollar though!) Just wasnt sure if you have it there, its pretty cool... Colin C
SharkTums Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 Sorry International Peeps!!! Penny = $0.01 Nickel = $0.05 Dime = $0.10 Quarter = $0.25 Dollar Coin = $1.00 Yes, we have several brands of coinstar machines around town, but I will be rolling it and bringing it to the bank...I'm not paying 7-11% of my money to that damn machine!!! (FYI, some of the machines offer fee free if you turn your money into a gift certificate)
Twister II Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 The next one should be like, "Guess how many Oblivion condoms are in the coke bottle!" or "How many Hello Kitty Vibrators can fit in this box!" Just some thoughts....
robbeal Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I might have a good think about this one, as i've got the exact same Coke bottle, and I know how much I had in there a couple of summers ago!
Luxo Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 We should have contest to see how many magnets are on your refridgerator!
SharkTums Posted February 10, 2006 Author Posted February 10, 2006 ^Hey, I just thought you'd be proud of me for not taking it to the coinstar machine!
cfc Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 ^You definitely have more patience than I do. I'm a Coinstar man, even though I balk at coughing up that 7 percent (must be the Scotsman in me). Thought about buying one of those little counting-and-rolling machines, but my Dad's always jammed. So, stand tall, Elissa! I'll be a guessin' later.
ebl Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 At our house, I take pennies to CoinStar and get a Starbucks card for Diana. No stupid 8.9% fee---if you get the card, you get full value. Quarters and nickels are rolled and taken to Vegas. Dimes are rolled and taken to Vegas, too, but only to casinos where they take dimes. (The Barbary Coast is one.) As for what's in your bottle, I'll guess XXXX just for the heck of it. Eric Admin Edit, I don't want people to be influenced by anyones guess! Thanks Eric, I'll put your guess down!
DenDen Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 For those of you in Florida, BankAtlantic has a FREE coin counter in every branch. You need not have an account to use it. If you have an account, just have it transfered to your checking, savings, or get the cash.
ebl Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 ^ They should have that in all banks. It's ridiculous to have to pay about nine cents on the dollar just to count your change. Eric
Ed Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 They have coin things in supermarkets in the Uk. Or atleast they do in my local sainsburys! Obviously the coin counter makers have something against California.
CoasterJunkie Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Let me just say Coinstar is a good idea, but a HUGE ripoff.. Kudos to BankAtlantic for 1. Being open to midnight and 2. Offering it for free.
Hattuchili Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Oh, that is a great game, Elissa! Be sure I´ll send you an E-Mail! --Sören
