Intamin Accelerators

Hey..I couldnt find a topic like this so I'm gonna start it. Whats your favorite Intamin Accelerator Coaster? Remember these are just opinions so dont make this into LETS BASH A COASTER THREAD. So whats your favorite? Mine has to be Storm Runner because I LOVE the inversions they're just AWESOME!!!

I haven't been on any of them but that one gets my vote based on layout.

I voted for Xcellerator, because it's the only one I've been on.

I voted for Superman Escape, self explanitory lol, and the only GOOD coaster I have been on lol. Oh!! who am i kidding, the SLC is the best coaster of the lot!!!

I've been on Xcelerator and TTD, I rather go on Xcelerator anyday.

I have been on Kingda Ka, TTD, and Storm Runner, and I prefer Kingda Ka over the other two. I really liked Storm Runner, but I just love 400+ foot vertical dives.

 

I'm going on Xcelerator in May, and Zaturn in 2007, so I'll have more "experience" in the future.

I would pick Xcelerator as the best of the bunch. The launch seemed to pack more punch, and i would pick Stormrunner second.

I've only been on Top Thrill Dragster, so I can't really make a good comparison. However, from the POV that I've seen, I would have to say Stormrunner looks like it would be the best one out of the bunch.

I've only been on Xcelerator, but I bet its pretty hard to top that launch.

I've been on Xcelerator, Rita and Kanonen, but I had to vote KingdaKa, it just looks incredible I've heard it's rough but I don't care

My favorite is Xcelerator! I'm looking forward to riding Rita - Queen Of Speed and Speed Monster this summer! I think Speed Monster might be my new favorite after I ride it this summer!

I've only ridden Rita and Kanonen, Kanonen is my favourite out of those two.

I'd of course love to ride every accelerator, especially Storm Runner, TTD/Kingda Ka (and Speed Monster).

I've only ridden TTD and GE999, and is that even an accelerator? It's a tire driven launch. I won't vote for any if I've only been on one, as how is that a favorite if there's no comparison?

AFAIK GE999 is an accelerator. Even though it uses tires, the mechanism is very similar. In other words, it's also a hydraulic launch...

 

At least that's what I think...

I've been on Xcelerator and Storm Runner and I voted Storm Runner since it was the better of the two IMO. The only thing that I think Xcelerator had over SR was the launch, but SR gave a better ride over all.

Oh dear, this is apparently another one of those "I've only ridden Coastername, so I'll vote for that" polls.

 

So without casting a meaningless vote...Between Xcelerator, TTD, KK, and S:TE, I guess my favorite was KK, basically for the view from the top. TTD was noticeably smoother, though its themeing and operation wasn't as good as KK's. And while I appreciate the punch of Xcelerator's launch and its post-top-hat layout it...just...isn't...nearly...as..tall.

And no, GE999 is not an accelerator. It doesn't use the same system as an accelerator, not even close.

 

If you say that GE999 is an accelerator, then so is The Bullet, or a Vekoma Roller Skater, or any other coaster with a tire driven system, IMO.

Duane had it listed as one of these for a long time, even though I had described the launch system to him. He has updated it, so his contact at Intamin must have finally gotten back to him.

I've been on TTD and KK.. I liked TTD much better, because of the restraints.. HOWEVER, I chose Xcelerator.. because I love TTD, but I need more than just the top hat.. and thats' pretty much what Xcelerator does.. so woot!

I've only been on Rita so far, but as I could be doing 4 new Accelerators this year I'm gonna wait before calling judgement.

I've been on Xcelerator, Storm Runner, Kingda Ka and Dragster... and I pick Xcelerator. Simply because the launch, to me, is the most intense. I love intense launches and the airtime going down the top hat in the back seat is rediculous... 2nd would be Dragster, then Storm Runner then Ka.. they are all good IMO though...
