jray21 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I do like the color of the track! Can't wait to see more.
GCI Wooden Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 If anyone is interested, Knoebels is on google street view. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.877561,-76.504016,3a,75y,141.61h,108.63t/data=!3m5!1e1!3m3!1sJMAt2HUCNQH-jyefZh2rng!2e0!3e5
cfc Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I do like the color of the track! Can't wait to see more. It looks particularly nice sitting there in the snow.
A.J. Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 It'll look even better when it's placed on the supports. Probably. EDIT: Looks like the Cobra Roll. Source: Knoebels on Facebook
rcjp Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 ^That's an interesting combination of colours. It should surely stand out.
SigilX Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Local news reported on the construction of Impulse yesterday. Nothing really new from what we know here, but they showed the parking lot now filled with track and support pieces. http://wnep.com/2015/02/03/new-coaster-under-construction-at-knobels/
tanthonyam Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Do they still have that flying carpet ride? The one that the woman was in love with? It was in some documentary.
Ccron10 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Do they still have that flying carpet ride? The one that the woman was in love with? It was in some documentary. Yep, still there. I don't think it operated at all last season as they were doing a lot of work to it.
SigilX Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 The flying carpet ride 2001 Nacht was down for maintenance last year with a sign saying "Waiting for parts from Europe. Much of the paint on the main arm was removed in certain sections and the motor covering was removed. It might have been a hydraulic issue as I smelled hydraulic fluid in the area, more than normal.
BlahBlahson Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Oh God...not the hydraulic fluid. Was the ride in heat?
thesman Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Do they still have that flying carpet ride? The one that the woman was in love with? It was in some documentary. what documentary?
viking86 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Do they still have that flying carpet ride? The one that the woman was in love with? It was in some documentary. what documentary? Watch at your own risk! Sleeping might be difficult tonight...
RCF Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Oh God...not the hydraulic fluid. Was the ride in heat? Please don't go there...
SigilX Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Holy ride fetish Batman! I must now lobotomize myself with a power drill to prevent seeing flashbacks of that film every time I go to my home park.
bert425 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 that's so funny, because I had seen this years ago, and made NO connection to it being at Knoebel's. yet I was inclined to take these pics next to "him" at the park last June:
Meteornotes Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 That documentary needs an update. Let us know how the relationship is going. Footage from couples therapy sessions would amuse... dt
thrillrider Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I heard that the relationship has had it's up's and downs. 1

A.J. Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 And now... Track. Still not a fan of all the concrete. Source
Nrthwnd Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 ^ Maybe a HUGE PIECE of that outdoor grass-like....stuff, on the concrete? Patio grass? That stuff in sports fields. ANYTHING but just the concrete!
cfc Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Well, those footers have to sit on a firm foundation of something.
Shavethewhales Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Huh? Where is this expectation for covered footers coming from? I didn't think Knoebels had that kind of theming/landscape standard. Even SDC doesn't do that.
larrygator Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Huh? Where is this expectation for covered footers coming from? Just people being stupidly unrealistic.
