Knoebels Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I really don't like how the riders' feet don't appear to completely touch the floor.

With your feet on the floor, you feel more vibrations than when they're not. (If the ride has any vibrations in the first place)

Looks great! How comfortable are wicked's restraints?

Not going to lie, they're extremely uncomfortable. This is due to them tightening during the launch though, so hopefully Impulse won't have this problem.

Obviously Knoebels didn't have a problem with them when they were at Lagoon Looking at Wicked and Spider. I think it was in 2013 they were there. Interesting they changed from the Big Rotors on Wicked's Trains to These Ones.

I generally don't like shin guards, but I'll wait until I ride before I judge this.

Oh sure, I've never been on Wicked so I have little idea of what the experience is really like.

I don't know why, I guess that it's somewhat of a pet peeve. I'm around 5 feet 11 inches tall and my toes just barely touch the floor on B&M mega coasters, which drives me nuts because I can't lay my entire foot flat like on, well, pretty much every other coaster. I want to rest my feet somewhere so I try and place them on the big lap restraint anchor in front of me but I always fail because, again, I can't reach completely.

It doesn't bother me if my feet don't touch the floor, but I agree with Larry about shin guards.

Interesting. I actually do enjoy having my feet floating about which why I'm not a fan of the way you sit on most intamin trains as your feet are firmly against the floor.

Impulse test run video!

I'm willing to give Knoebels the benefit of the doubt here due to A) the test car just barely crawling over the top (it will probably be going faster when it opens) and B) an unstable camera mount.

Thumbs up from me. That barrel roll looks incredibly fun and the helix will likely pack a nice punch. I don't expect Phoenix or Twister but I expect another incredibly fun ride to join their seemingly endless collection of incredibly fun rides. This ride was a perfect choice for Knoebels.

Impulse is looking great! I've just planned a 2 day trip to Knoebel's at the beginning of July (Tues July 7th and Wed. July 8th). I've never been there before and I'm extremely excited, I just have a couple questions (sorry if they've been asked or answered before).

1. What are crowds like on weekdays (specifically Tuesdays) in early July? Is it easy to get multiple rides in on Phoenix, Flying Turns, and Twister?

2. I know all about the coasters, the Haunted Mansion, Black Diamond, the two Flume rides, and Stratosfear. I'm not super into flats, but I've heard too many great things about them here, so are there any must ride flats? The type I wouldn't find at a typical Cedar Fair or Six Flags park...

3. Do they sell beer or any alcoholic beverages in the park? I'm going for my 21st birthday, I'd love to drink my first beer at Knoebels

Anyway, I'm unbelievably hyped!!!!!
