I love that deep turquoise. It looks like it might go very, very well with Dragon Khan's track.

It will probably shine a lot and make contrast in the very blue sky, and (ok, far fetched) symbolize the eternal snows of the Himalaya ?

That's along the lines of what I was thinking.

I have always loved two-toned B&M track, especially when the colors compliment each other as well as coasters like Nitro, Mantis, and Goliath do. I'm glad B&M is getting back to that with Shambhala, this looks great!

You do realize that B&M paints the track whatever color the park asks them to, right? and sometimes the ride manufacturer isn't even the one that paints it, for many projects the park will have it painted, or even paint it on site. The ride manufacturer has very little to do with what color a ride ends up being.

Yeah, I guess I should've worded it better, not strictly just calling B&M in general.

*I'm glad that this B&M coaster will have two-toned track!

Some new artwork has popped up at the Spanish site following construction of the Beemer. I am not sure if it is real park material or just a fan's fantasy, using Nolimits / any picture editing software. The thing that makes me doubt is the difference in spelling between ShambHala and Shambala (on this pic). As a reminder no name is official yet, and it could end up being something totally different like Shumbulu (lol) Did you know Dragon Khan (and not Kahn) had been called Khan Draak as well as Khan Drax in documentation before the park opened in 95 ? Same for Anaconda (now at Walygator park) which was supposed to be called Diplodocus

Ese artwork está hecho por un usuario de la página, y no corresponde al layout de shambala. Simplemente lo ha hecho para ver como quedarán los colores en la futura coaster. Y la verdad es que quedan realmente bien.

Via google translator:

This artwork is made by a user of the site, and does not correspond to the layout of Shambala. It just has to see how the colors will be in the future coaster. And the truth is that they are really good.

This artwork is from an user of pa-community, which means is not official, btw the colours are exactly the same.

Another point is , Dragon Khan is finally being repainted!!! This red is so freaking fresh !!

Here is a pic of Sonia (a pa-community user also)

Look the difference between old red, and the new and fresh one !!

I wish that they would paint the rails as well. Cedar Point's Mantis got its rails repainted a little while ago, and it made a world of difference IMO.

At long last vertical construction has started. Not sure about the shade of red they've picked for Khan though. I remember it brand new in 95 when it was an orangish flashy red (nearly like fire brigade trucks !). This one may be more "in tune" with the Chinese theme, but my fear is, this shade could turn to a pinkish colour with the Spanish weather and the sea side environment. Hopefully it never turns like Xpress at Walibi Holland or Khan's cousin Superman in Madrid. Now we have to wait and see how it blends with "Shambhala"'s dual color track

I think it's the same shade of red as the first years.

If you're not sure, take a look at this video:

(of course, i refeer to the parts where the colour isn't edited)

And compare it too with this image. If I consideer the logo on the train, I would say this is from 1995-1998

I think the colour now seems a little bit different because of the contrast with the old and rusty one.

^you're right. Probably my mistake is based on the pictures I took at that time, which make it appear brighter. Weather conditions might have played a role too. I remember watching this video (World's greatest RC Thrills in "pseudo 3D" " This video was shot before the park opened to the public I think, or really in the early days: look at the barren land ! no vegetation at all. Trees and greenness has grown a lot since then, but I guess a lot of it is now gone again to make way for the hyper. As long as it doesn't fade into the pink of the 2 examples I gave in my previous post, we're safe. I hope we see the lift starting soon to have a better impression of how it will (or won't ) dwarf Khan. I think I read on a Spanish site (probably PA Community) that tests were planned around mid April

Well, the tests are planned for that date, that's right, but PortAventura is famous for its long delay doing anything, for example, with Furius Baco, which was planned to open with the park's season and it didn't open until June, and seeing the photos of the construction right now... well... You can imagine the rest

Something tells me I was well inspired to book my family trip there for late August !

Now if the RCS team does as amazing a job as at Asterix, it might go quick. But I assume the size of the lift will make it take some time before it's complete, though. Do you know if the painters team is also people from RCS ? or "normal maintenance" workers ? Too bad they don't use the B&M ball pod to access those tall elements. Which coaster (beside Silver Bullet) has one ?
